If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

UPDATE: Based on everything here, it sounds like you have a few good next steps: 1) Try visiting CareerSource in person, 2) Contact your state representative, 3) Try calling right at opening time or consider using a service to connect you, and 4) Specifically ask to speak with an adjudicator who can see the detailed status of your claim. One of these approaches should help break through the logjam. Please let us know what ends up working!

Thanks everyone for all the advice! I'm going to try CareerSource tomorrow morning, and if that doesn't work, I'll try calling right when they open on Monday. If all else fails, I'll look into the Claimyr service. I'll update once I (hopefully) get some answers!

I'm dealing with almost the exact same situation - my claim has been on hold since January 15th with absolutely no explanation! Like you, I've called dozens of times and gotten nowhere. What's really frustrating is that I have friends who filed claims after me and they're already getting their benefits. The "pending issue" message is maddening because it tells you literally nothing. I've been surviving on credit cards and help from family, but that's not sustainable. Really hoping some of these suggestions work for you because I'm going to try them too. The system is definitely broken when people are waiting months just to find out what the problem even is.

UPDATE: My payment just hit my account about 10 minutes ago! Looks like it was just delayed by about 14 hours. Check your accounts everyone!

Just checked and mine came through too! What a relief! Still annoying they don't warn us about these delays though.

Same thing happened to me! My federal supplement didn't show up this morning either - was expecting $1500 like usual. I'm also on direct deposit and my state payment came through fine. Really glad to see Jasmine's update that hers just came through - gives me hope mine will show up soon too! I wish DEO would send out notifications when they know payments are going to be delayed. Having to find out through community posts like this is frustrating when we're all depending on these payments for basic expenses.

One more thing about partial unemployment - DONT get tripped up on the question about WHY you're not working full hours. Make sure you select "Hours reduced by employer" and NOT "Not enough work available" or "Business slow." Those other options can trigger different review processes!! The exact wording matters SO MUCH with DEO applications.

I went through something similar (though not pregnant) when my retail job cut my hours from 35 to 8 per week last year. I was SO stressed about applying because I thought being "still employed" meant I couldn't get benefits. But I qualified for partial unemployment and it literally saved me financially! A few things that helped me: - I filed online through CONNECT on a Tuesday morning (seemed less busy than Mondays) - I kept every text/email from my manager about the schedule changes as proof - When they asked about work availability, I just focused on the fact that I was ready to work my normal hours if offered The process took about 3 weeks to get my first payment, but once it started, it was consistent. Don't let anyone scare you away from applying - if your hours were cut through no fault of your own, you have every right to file. The worst they can do is say no, but based on what you've described, you should absolutely qualify. Wishing you the best during this stressful time! Financial stress is the last thing you need while preparing for your baby.

UPDATE: I tried both suggestions! Called my state representative's office AND used Claimyr to get through to DEO. Figured I'd attack this from both angles. Got through to DEO first - the agent confirmed I have a separation issue where my employer didn't respond to their inquiry about my layoff. The agent sent a follow-up request to my employer and escalated my case. She said once that's resolved (hopefully within 2 weeks), all my eligible back weeks should process for payment! Thank you all for the help - will update again when/if I get my backpay!

That's awesome news Maria! Really glad you were able to get through and get some answers. It sounds like your employer just didn't respond to DEO's initial inquiry, which is pretty common - sometimes employers just ignore the paperwork or it gets lost in their HR department. Once they clarify that you were legitimately laid off due to business reasons, all those weeks should definitely unlock. Keep us posted on how it goes - your experience will help others in similar situations!

This is exactly what happened to me back in 2023! The frustrating part is that DEO's system will sometimes process one "test" week to verify your payment method and eligibility, but then hold all the other weeks until any pending issues are resolved. Since you found the separation issue in your determination status, that's definitely what's blocking your September-November backpay. The good news is that once that separation issue gets resolved (sounds like it's just waiting on your employer to confirm the layoff details), all those weeks should release at once. I ended up getting about 12 weeks of backpay in one lump sum when my case finally got cleared. Just make sure to keep claiming your ongoing weeks so you don't miss any future payments while waiting for the backpay to process. The whole system is backwards but you're on the right track now that you actually got through to someone!

Update for everyone following this thread: I just checked the DEO website and they've added a FAQ about the $1200 supplement. Official cutoff date was July 15th, and all qualifying payments should be issued by August 10th. If you claimed weeks that included days before July 15th and don't see the supplement by August 10th, you need to contact them directly.

Thank you for checking! This gives me a timeline to work with. I'll wait until after I claim on the 30th, and if I don't see the supplement by August 10th, I'll follow up with DEO.

Just wanted to share my experience since I was in a similar situation last week. I was also claiming weeks that were 2 weeks behind and wasn't sure about the $1200 supplement. I claimed on July 23rd for weeks ending July 6th and July 13th, and I did receive the full $1200 supplement about 3 days after my regular unemployment payment hit my account. So if your claim on July 30th includes any weeks from before July 15th, you should definitely get at least a partial payment. The key thing is that it's based on the actual week dates you're claiming, not when you submit the claim. Hope this helps with your budgeting!
