dont 4get to check ur CONNECT inbox!!! somtimes they send messages there but dont email u about them!!! missed a fact finding deadline bc i didnt know they messaged me there n had to start my whole claim over
I've been dealing with the same nightmare for 9 weeks now! Filed in January, did everything by the book - ID.me verification, weekly claims, work searches documented perfectly, uploaded every document they asked for. Still stuck in "pending" status with zero communication about what's wrong. The most frustrating part is the complete lack of transparency. At least if they told us "your claim will take 12 weeks to process" we could plan accordingly. Instead we're left guessing whether we did something wrong or if it's just their broken system. I'm going to try the state representative route that others mentioned - seems like that's had the most success. Has anyone had luck with contacting the governor's office directly? I'm willing to try anything at this point. Living on credit cards and the kindness of family is not sustainable much longer. Florida really needs to overhaul this entire system. Other states manage to process claims in 2-3 weeks, there's no excuse for this level of dysfunction.
Glad to see you got it figured out! For anyone else reading this thread with similar issues - always check your Determination Status for each week in question. The CONNECT system applies all these formulas automatically but does a terrible job showing the math. Always report your income accurately, and remember that even small amounts of earnings will reduce your weekly benefit once you cross that 25% threshold.
I went through something similar last year after my appeal win. The key thing to remember is that even though you won your appeal, the partial earnings formula still applies to any weeks where you worked. DEO doesn't "pause" those calculations just because there was an appeal - they process everything based on what you reported for income during those weeks. Since you mentioned working about 12 hours at $9/hr, that puts you right around the threshold where significant reductions kick in. The good news is that this means the system is actually working correctly in your case, even though it's frustrating that they don't explain it clearly upfront. One tip for the future - if you're working part-time while claiming, try to keep your weekly earnings under that 25% threshold ($31.25 in your case) to avoid the dollar-for-dollar reduction. Sometimes it's better to work fewer hours rather than cross into that reduction zone.
UPDATE: Wanted to share what worked for me in case anyone else has this problem! I couldn't get through on the regular phone line after multiple attempts, so I ended up using Claimyr (thanks for that tip). Got connected to a DEO agent who helped me request my 1099-G and confirmed my withholding amount. They're mailing it to my Nevada address and also emailed me a copy that I can use for filing right away. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your help with this nightmare situation.
Glad you got it resolved! For future reference, you can also set up mail forwarding with USPS that would automatically send your tax documents from your old Florida address to your new Nevada one. Something to consider for next year's tax season if you're still expecting any Florida documents.
So glad to see you got this resolved! I went through something similar when I moved from Florida to Texas last year. The key thing I learned is to update your address with DEO BEFORE you move if possible, but obviously that ship has sailed for you. For anyone else reading this - if you're planning to move out of state while collecting or recently finished collecting FL unemployment, call DEO ahead of time to update your address in their system. It makes getting tax documents SO much easier. The mail forwarding suggestion is also solid - I wish I had thought of that! Hope your tax filing goes smoothly from here.
That's such great advice about updating your address before moving! I wish I had known that earlier - would have saved me so much stress. I definitely learned my lesson for the future. And yes, the mail forwarding is brilliant - I actually set that up right after I got this resolved, so hopefully I won't have this issue again next year. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really helpful to know others have been through the same thing!
Just wanted to add that if your son is still getting errors in CONNECT, try clearing your browser cache and cookies completely, then try a different browser. I had persistent errors that turned out to be browser-related. Also, the system seems to work better early in the morning (like 6-8 AM) when fewer people are trying to use it. One more tip - if he does get approved, make sure he understands the difference between "pending" and "processed" payments. I made the mistake of thinking my weeks were processed when they were just pending, and it caused confusion about when I'd actually receive payment. The whole system is confusing but don't give up!

•Thanks for the reminder! I just double-checked my inbox and I don't see anything asking for additional documents yet, but I'll keep checking regularly.

I'm currently going through this exact same situation - just exhausted my regular benefits two weeks ago and submitted my extension application. The waiting is absolutely nerve-wracking, especially with bills piling up! From what I've been reading here and my own research, it seems like the timeline really varies. I've been religiously continuing my work searches and claiming my weeks even though I'm not getting paid right now. One thing that's been helpful is setting up alerts in my CONNECT account so I get notified immediately if there are any updates or if they need additional documentation. For anyone else in this boat - I found that keeping a detailed spreadsheet of all my work search activities with dates, company names, and contact info has been really helpful. That way if they ask for verification, I have everything organized and ready to go. The last thing any of us need is a delay because of missing paperwork. Hoping we all get through this process quickly! Will definitely update once I hear back on my extension status.

•Thanks for sharing your experience Keisha! I'm glad I'm not the only one going through this stress right now. The spreadsheet idea for work searches is really smart - I've just been keeping notes in a notebook but having everything digital and organized would definitely be better if they ask for verification. I set up those CONNECT alerts too after reading some of the advice here. Hopefully we both hear back soon! This whole process is so anxiety-inducing when you're already worried about money.
