Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

I'm in a very similar boat right now! My claim has been "under investigation" for about a week after being stuck on "pending" for over a month. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring and nerve-wracking at the same time. The fact that your agent actually called you and mentioned a specific timeline for an update is encouraging though - from what I've seen, they usually don't bother giving timelines unless something is actually happening. I totally understand that obsessive checking feeling! I've been refreshing my CONNECT account multiple times a day too, and it's exhausting. The waiting really is the worst part of this whole process. It sounds like we're both in very similar situations - the month+ of pending followed by the investigation status. One last tip: If you get denied for backdating or can't get through on the phone after multiple attempts, consider reaching out to your state representative. Many of them have staff dedicated to helping constituents with DEO issues. Google "[your county] state representative" and look for their constituent services contact info. Their offices can often cut through bureaucracy faster than we can as individuals.

I went through something similar last year - the key is persistence and knowing exactly what to ask for. When you finally get through to DEO (try calling right at 7:30 AM when lines open), ask specifically for the "Request to Modify Claim Filing Date" form that Julian mentioned. Technical issues with CONNECT are absolutely valid grounds for backdating. A few things that helped me: 1) Keep detailed notes of every call attempt with date/time, 2) Save any screenshots or error messages you have from October/November, and 3) Be prepared to explain your timeline clearly - when you lost your job, when you first tried to file, what specific issues prevented you from completing it. Also, don't panic about the work search records for those back weeks. You can reconstruct activities you did during that time period - any job applications, networking, even informal inquiries count. I've been claiming on different days for over a year now due to my rotating work schedule, and I can confirm the day you claim doesn't affect DEO's processing timeline. They process all claims the next business day regardless. The key factor is your bank's posting schedule. With Wells Fargo specifically, I've noticed they typically post unemployment deposits on the second business day after DEO processes - so if you claim Wednesday, DEO processes Thursday, and you'll likely see it Saturday or Monday (depending on weekend processing). Some people get lucky with Friday deposits but I wouldn't count on it for bill planning. The system glitches people mention are usually unrelated to claiming day and more about random CONNECT issues. You should be fine for your rent deadline!

I've been claiming on Wednesdays for about 6 months now and can share my experience! With Wells Fargo, I typically see deposits on Friday afternoon when I claim Wednesday morning. The key is claiming early in the day - I usually do it around 9 AM and that seems to help with the processing timeline. DEO does process next business day regardless of which day you claim, but I've noticed Wells Fargo posts unemployment deposits faster when they receive the ACH early in their processing window. One tip: if you're cutting it close with bills, you can always call Wells Fargo the day you expect the deposit to see if it's pending in their system. Sometimes it shows up there before it's actually available in your account. Good luck with everything!

I ended up using that Claimyr service someone mentioned above to get through to DEO. The agent told me there was a system flag on my account because my previous employer contested my original claim (which was already resolved months ago!). She removed the flag and manually processed my extension application. My status is back to active now with a new benefit balance! What a relief. The agent also mentioned there's a known glitch in CONNECT where old resolved issues can suddenly reappear when transitioning to extended benefits. Apparently it's happening to a lot of people.
