I work in IT and let me tell you, the EDD's systems are a complete mess. They're using outdated technology and don't have the resources to handle the volume of claims. It's no wonder everything's so backed up.
Oof, I remember those days. My advice? Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online update. It might come in handy if there are any issues down the line.
Anyone else feel like we need a support group just for dealing with these government agencies? 😅 Seriously though, hang in there OP. The system sucks but you'll get through eventually.
Pro tip: if you can't get thru on the phone, try contacting your local state representative's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push things along.

Anyone else notice that the EDD website is down... again? 🙄 How are we supposed to check our claim status if the site never works?

•Try using incognito mode or clearing your cache. Sometimes that helps me get in.

I'm in the same boat as OP, finally got through yesterday! Here's what worked for me: - Call right at 8:01 AM - If you get the "too many callers" message, hang up and redial immediately - Use the 2511 number and press 1, then 2, then 4 - Have all your info ready (SSN, claim date, last employer, etc.) - Be super nice to the rep, they deal with angry people all day Hope this helps someone else! Don't give up, you'll get through eventually!
