If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

back in 2023 i had same issue and ended up having to just file a new claim even though my benefit year wasnt over yet. the edd rep said something about my base period changing? i'm still confused about what happened but anyway...my payments came through ok

The rep might have been referring to a potential benefit increase. If you had higher wages during your most recent base period than your original claim was based on, filing a new claim might result in a higher weekly benefit amount. However, this is an exception, not the rule. Generally, reopening an existing claim is the correct approach within the same benefit year.

Update: I used Claimyr this morning after trying to call for 2 days with no luck. Got connected to an agent in about 20 minutes! She said my account had a weird technical glitch that was hiding the "Reopen Claim" button. She fixed it on her end and now I can see the option. Already submitted my information. Thanks everyone for your help! For anyone with the same issue, definitely call if you can't see the reopen option - it might be a system problem, not user error.

Yay!!! So glad u got it working. Make sure u keep all ur paystubs from partial work. They sometimes ask for proof of ur hours later. That happened to my cousin.

update us when u get it figured out! i'm curious what the holdup is

UPDATE: I finally got through to EDD this morning! Turns out they were missing wage verification from my employer. The representative said they sent a request to my company's HR department two weeks ago but never received a response. I immediately called my HR manager who found the form buried in her email. She submitted it today, and the EDD rep said I should see payment within 3-5 business days. So relieved to finally know what was happening! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

Great news! This is a common issue with SDI claims. For anyone else experiencing delays, always check if your employer has received and responded to wage verification requests. Glad you got it resolved!

oh i forgot to say make sure u certify every 2 weeks!!!!! if u miss certifying they dont pay u and its a hassle to get backpay

Just wanted to add - when you're caring for a sick family member while working reduced hours, you might also want to look into State Disability Insurance (SDI) and Paid Family Leave (PFL) as additional options. These are separate from unemployment but can provide benefits in certain caregiving situations. The EDD manages these programs too. Also, be prepared that there might be a phone interview to verify your eligibility. Make sure you answer when they call (typically shows as "St of CA EDD" or an unknown number).

Thank you so much, everyone! I just submitted my application for partial unemployment. I answered the questions exactly as suggested here. Really appreciate all the guidance - this community is amazing.

One more thing to be aware of - if EDD determines you were misclassified, they might go after the touring company for unpaid unemployment insurance contributions. This could potentially cause issues if you want to work with them again in the future. Just something to consider before proceeding.

That's a really good point I hadn't considered. The industry is pretty small and I don't want to burn bridges. I'll have to think about whether pursuing this is worth the potential professional fallout.

Will do! Hoping I can actually reach someone at EDD this week to get this sorted out.

Good to know it's not just me. Anxiously watching my account like it's the stock market over here lol

lol i know that feeling. refreashing the page every 10 mins wont make the money come faster tho... learned that the hard way!

Update: EDD just posted on Twitter that all pending payments from yesterday and today should be processed by end of business day. They apologized for the delay and mentioned it was related to their quarterly system update. For future reference, their Twitter account (@CA_EDD) often has the most current status updates when these kinds of delays happen.

Just got my payment about 10 minutes ago! Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance. Will definitely follow their Twitter account now.
