Hey Cynthia! Congrats on getting to paid status - that's such an exciting milestone! 🎉 I went through this exact same situation about 2 months ago and totally understand the mix of relief and confusion you're feeling right now. Your Money Network card should arrive within 7-10 business days, but like everyone else has mentioned, it comes in the most generic white envelope from "Conduent" that seriously looks like junk mail. I actually set it aside for almost a week thinking it was another credit card offer! Since your mailing address is at your mom's place, definitely give her a detailed heads up about what to look for. The "waiting period served" is actually great news - it means you've successfully completed California's mandatory unpaid first week that every new claimant has to serve. It's totally normal state policy and you won't get paid for that week, but now you're eligible for actual payments starting with week 2. You didn't do anything wrong at all! Once your card arrives, my biggest recommendation is to activate it right away and immediately set up the Money Network app with notifications enabled. Even better - set up direct deposit through the app as soon as possible! It cuts future payment wait times from days down to next business day. Such a game changer for your peace of mind going forward. You're doing everything right and you're so close to having this all figured out! The hardest part is behind you now. 💪
Thank you Amelia! This has been such an incredible learning experience thanks to everyone sharing their stories here. I'm so relieved to hear that setting it aside for almost a week is something that actually happens - it makes me feel so much better about being worried about missing it! I'm definitely going to have a very detailed conversation with my mom about watching for that Conduent envelope. At this point I think I'll just ask her to text me photos of any envelope that could possibly contain a card over the next two weeks so we don't miss it. The waiting period explanation has been such a relief too - I was genuinely scared I had messed up my application somehow when I saw that message! It's amazing how much less stressful this whole process feels now that I understand what's normal vs what to worry about. I'm already planning my Money Network app setup and direct deposit configuration for the moment that card arrives. Everyone here has made this so much more manageable - thank you for taking the time to share your experience! 😊
Hey Cynthia! Congrats on reaching paid status - that's such a huge milestone! 🎉 I just went through this exact same experience about 6 weeks ago and can totally relate to that mix of excitement and anxiety you're feeling. Your Money Network card should arrive within 7-10 business days (mine took 8), but definitely heed everyone's advice about that Conduent envelope - it's SO plain and generic looking! I literally thought it was a credit card application and almost recycled it. Since your address is at your mom's, maybe ask her to text you photos of any envelope that could possibly contain a card over the next couple weeks, just to be extra safe. The "waiting period served" message is actually fantastic news! It means you've completed California's mandatory unpaid first week that ALL new claimants have to serve. Nobody gets paid for that first week - it's just how the system works - but now you're eligible for real payments starting with week 2. You're doing everything perfectly! When your card arrives, activate it immediately and download the Money Network app right away. Set up notifications and definitely get direct deposit configured ASAP through the app - it's a total game changer for future certifications. Instead of waiting days for the card to be loaded, direct deposit hits next business day! You're almost there - the hardest part is behind you now! 💪
This thread is so helpful! I'm currently dealing with this exact same phantom interview situation - got approved and paid last week, then received a duplicate interview notice that only shows on my claim status page but not my UI Online homepage. I was completely freaking out thinking I'd somehow jeopardize my benefits by missing it, but reading everyone's experiences here has been such a huge relief! It's amazing how widespread this system glitch has become since EDD's update. The fact that so many people have successfully ignored these duplicate notices without any issues gives me confidence to do the same. Thank you all for sharing your stories and creating this resource - it's saved me from so much unnecessary stress and panic over what's clearly just an automated system error!
I'm so glad I found this thread too! I literally just got one of these duplicate interview notices this morning and was having a full panic attack thinking I'd somehow mess up my approved claim. Got my approval and payment on Monday, then today I get this notice for an interview next week that only shows on the claim status page. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly calming - it's wild how many of us are getting hit with these phantom interviews! The consistency of everyone's stories really confirms this is just a widespread system glitch from their update. I was about to stress call EDD for hours, but now I feel confident just ignoring it since my homepage is clear and payments are coming through. This community is amazing for helping people realize they're not alone with these confusing system errors!
I'm experiencing this exact same issue right now! Just received a duplicate interview notice today after already being approved and paid earlier this week. Reading through this entire thread has been such a relief - I was completely panicking thinking I'd somehow mess up my benefits by missing this phantom interview. It's incredible how consistent everyone's experiences are with these duplicate notices only showing on the claim status page but not the UI Online homepage. The fact that so many people have successfully ignored these system-generated duplicates without any negative impact on their benefits gives me huge peace of mind. I was literally about to rearrange my entire work schedule for what's apparently just an automated glitch from their system update. Thank you everyone for documenting your experiences - this thread should honestly be stickied as a resource for anyone dealing with EDD's confusing phantom interviews!
You'll get through this! One more thing - remember that EDD will ask during your appeal if you were actively looking for work during those weeks. Be prepared with details of any job applications, networking, or resume updates you did during that time. Having specific dates and companies can really help your case.
I went through this exact same situation last year! That certification question is so poorly worded - I think half the people who file unemployment mess it up at first. The good news is that you're absolutely right - you'll only be disqualified for those specific weeks where you answered incorrectly. Since you can still certify for new weeks and they're processing, your claim is definitely still active. I'd 100% recommend filing the appeal. I won mine by simply explaining that I misunderstood the question and providing a list of all the job applications I submitted during those weeks. The key is being super clear that you WERE available and actively looking for work during the disputed period. One tip: start documenting your job search activities now if you haven't been keeping detailed records. Even for your appeal, having specific company names, dates, and application methods will strengthen your case significantly. The whole process took about 2 months for me, but I got those weeks paid retroactively. Don't give up on that money - it's rightfully yours if you were genuinely available for work!
This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you for sharing your experience. 2 months seems manageable, and knowing that you got those weeks paid retroactively gives me hope. I've been kicking myself for making such a stupid mistake, but it sounds like this really is more common than I thought. I'll start documenting everything now and get that appeal filed ASAP!
This thread has been so helpful to read through! I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - my EDD payments show as paid but I never received my Money Network card after 3 weeks. Based on what everyone shared here, it sounds like the address verification issues are really common. I'm going to double-check my address formatting in UI Online and then try to get through to EDD to see if there's a problem with my card issuance. It's reassuring to know that others have successfully resolved this, even though it's incredibly stressful when you need the money. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and solutions!
Welcome to the club nobody wants to be in! I'm actually going through this right now too - been waiting 4 weeks for my Money Network card with payments showing as "paid" on UI Online. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful. The address verification thing seems to be the biggest culprit. I just checked my UI Online account and noticed I had "Street" spelled out instead of "St." - who knows if that could be causing issues. Planning to call EDD tomorrow to check on my card status. It's so frustrating that we have to become detectives just to get our approved benefits, but at least we're not dealing with this alone. Thanks for starting this helpful discussion thread!
I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! Been waiting 5 weeks for my Money Network card and I'm getting so desperate. Reading through all these responses has been really eye-opening - I had no idea that address formatting could cause such major problems with card issuance. I just went into my UI Online account and sure enough, I had an extra period after "Ave." in my street address that shouldn't be there. Has anyone had success getting EDD to expedite the replacement card once they fix the address issue? I'm worried that even after they correct it, I'll be waiting another month for the new card to arrive. My landlord is already asking about rent and I'm running out of options. This whole system feels like it's designed to make accessing your own approved benefits as difficult as possible!
Hey there! I actually just went through this exact situation and can give you some hope. When EDD fixes the address issue and reorders your card, they can definitely expedite it - mine came in 5 business days instead of the usual 7-10. The key is to specifically ask the EDD rep to mark it as "expedited due to hardship" when they place the new card order. Also, make sure they confirm the corrected address with you over the phone before submitting the request. I know it's super stressful waiting when rent is due, but once they fix that formatting issue, the replacement card usually comes much faster than the original. Hang in there - you're so close to getting this resolved!

Update: Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice! I called Money Network this morning and confirmed my card was mailed out yesterday. They verified my address was correct (phew!) and said I should have it by next Wednesday. I'll be carefully checking my mail and will set up direct deposit as soon as I get it. This forum has been so helpful - much better than the official EDD info!

•Glad to hear it! Once you get your card, don't forget to activate it immediately and set a PIN. And definitely set up account alerts so you're notified when new payments post to your account.

Great update! Really glad Money Network was able to confirm everything for you. One more tip - when you do get your card, make sure to keep the envelope and any paperwork that comes with it. There's usually a customer service number and important info about fees that you'll want to reference later. Also, some ATMs charge fees for the Money Network card, so look for fee-free ATM locations (they usually list them on their website). You're almost there!

•Thanks for the ATM tip! I hadn't thought about fees yet. Do you know if there's a limit on how much you can withdraw per day from the Money Network card? I'm hoping to get most of my funds transferred to my regular bank account once I set up direct deposit, but good to know about fee-free options in the meantime.
