If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I'm currently going through this identity process too! Just got my letter last week and I've been reading through everyone's experiences here - this is so helpful. It sounds like the consensus is that doing both the mail AND the online process is the best approach to speed things up. I'm planning to start with the this weekend since it seems like that's giving people faster results. Really relieved to hear from multiple people that they do backpay for the missed days - that was my biggest worry since I can't afford to lose any payments right now. Has anyone had issues with the not working properly, or does it usually go smoothly? I want to make sure I'm prepared before I start the process. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it makes this whole situation feel way less overwhelming!

@Aisha Khan I just went through the process yesterday and it was actually pretty smooth! The whole thing took about 15 minutes. Just make sure you have good lighting when taking photos of your and keep your driver s'license or ID handy. One small hiccup I had was that it initially couldn t'verify my address, but I just uploaded a recent bank statement instead of a utility bill and that worked. The system is pretty user-friendly and walks you through each step. I m'still waiting to see when my payments resume, but getting the confirmation gave me some peace of mind. Definitely recommend doing it sooner rather than later - seems like most people here had success with the online route!

I just completed my identity last week and wanted to share my experience! I received the letter about 10 days ago and was really stressed about the whole process. After reading through all these helpful comments, I decided to do both the mail AND the online route to be safe. The was actually much easier than I expected - took about 20 minutes and I used my driver's license plus a recent credit card statement for address verification. Got approved within 24 hours online! I also sent the physical by mail just as backup. My payments just resumed yesterday (about 6 days after approval) and I did receive backpay for all the missed days during the period. One thing I noticed is that my portal showed "Identity Pending" until the day before payments resumed, then it just disappeared from my account overview. For anyone still going through this - definitely try the online route first, but keep copies of everything you submit. The peace of mind is worth it!

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I've learned so much. To summarize what I understand now: 1. I should qualify based on my earnings ($16,500 over 7 months is above minimum) 2. My "reduction in workforce" termination should be considered no-fault 3. I need to check exactly which quarters count in my base period 4. I should prepare for my eligibility interview by having my termination details ready 5. There's a one-week waiting period before benefits start 6. I need to keep detailed records of my job search (at least 3 per week) I'll update this thread after my eligibility interview next week! Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

Great summary! One more tip for your eligibility interview - be prepared to explain any gaps in employment before your Target job. They might ask why you weren't working before and what you were doing during that time. Good luck!

Good luck with your interview, Zara! You seem well-prepared now. Just wanted to add one more thing - during your eligibility interview, be honest and straightforward about everything. Don't try to overthink your answers or volunteer extra information they don't ask for. They're mainly verifying the basic facts: when you worked, how much you earned, and why your employment ended. Also, if you haven't already, make sure you have your last pay stub and any termination paperwork from Target handy during the call. Sometimes they ask for specific dates or wage amounts and it's good to have the exact numbers ready. You've got this! The fact that you're being proactive about understanding the process puts you ahead of a lot of people. Keep us posted on how it goes!

This is such great advice! I'm actually new to this whole unemployment process and reading through this thread has been incredibly helpful. @Zara Mirza - your situation sounds really stressful but it looks like you re'in good hands with all the knowledgeable folks here. I m'curious - for those of us who might face similar situations in the future, is there anything you wish you had done differently when you first got terminated? Like should you ask for specific documentation from your employer right away, or is the standard termination paperwork usually enough for EDD? Also @Ryan Young, that s'a good point about having pay stubs ready. I never would have thought to gather all that documentation beforehand.

one other thing - when u do apply make sure u say ur job ended due to "lack of work" if thats wat happened. don't say u were fired or laid off or anything else. the wording matters ALOT for getting approved quick

Thanks for the tip! It's definitely a layoff situation (department restructuring), not a performance-based termination, so I'll make sure to describe it accurately.

Just went through this exact situation a few months ago! You're making the right call waiting until February. One thing I wish someone had told me - when you do apply, make sure you have your separation letter and any other employment documents easily accessible because EDD might ask for them during the application process or later. Also, if your company uses a third-party service to verify employment (like The Work Number), it can sometimes take a few days for them to update your employment end date, so don't panic if there's a small delay in processing. The paid notice leave thing is more common than you'd think, especially in corporate layoffs, so EDD agents are familiar with it.

This is really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about the third-party employment verification services potentially causing delays. Do you remember how long the whole process took from when you applied to when you started receiving benefits? I'm trying to plan my finances for the gap between my last paycheck in February and when unemployment kicks in.

ppl i work with just cash out the whole thing at atm soon as money hits lol. no app needed!

0 coins

Just a word of caution about that approach - you're limited to certain ATM withdrawal amounts per day (usually $1000), and some ATMs charge fees if they're not in the Money Network's fee-free network. You get two free ATM withdrawals per deposit period, then they charge $1.25 per withdrawal after that. Always better to transfer to your bank account to avoid fees.

Update on my earlier comment - I just saw that Money Network released an app update yesterday that supposedly fixes the login issues! Maybe try updating the app if you haven't already?

Update: Installed the new version and IT WORKS NOW! Finally! Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions. For anyone else having this issue, definitely make sure you have the latest app update.

That's awesome news! So glad the app update finally fixed it for you. I've been dealing with the same issues for weeks and was about to give up completely. Going to update mine right now too. Thanks for sharing that it's working!

Here's what the EDD Handbook (DE 1275B) actually says about temporary layoffs: "If you are temporarily unemployed due to lack of work and have a definite date to return to work, you may be exempt from full work search requirements." But you need to make sure this is documented on your claim. I'd suggest either: 1) Register for CalJOBS anyway (easiest solution), 2) Call EDD to confirm your temporary status is properly recorded, or 3) Submit a question through your UI Online account about your specific situation. Option 1 is probably simplest.

This is exactly right. And just to add - even with a temporary layoff situation properly documented, sometimes the automated notices still go out. The system isn't perfect. Registering for CalJOBS takes minimal time and eliminates any risk.

I went through this exact same situation last month with a temporary layoff from my manufacturing job. Got the CalJOBS notice even though I had a confirmed return date. I ended up registering just to be safe - took about 20 minutes and gave me peace of mind. The way I see it, even if there's an exemption for temporary layoffs, the automated system clearly doesn't recognize it when sending these notices. Better to spend a few minutes registering than risk any complications with your benefits, especially since you're only claiming for 3 weeks anyway.

0 coins

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to hear from someone who just went through this exact situation. You're absolutely right about the automated system not being smart enough to distinguish between different types of layoffs when sending notices. I think I'm convinced - I'll just bite the bullet and register today. 20 minutes now is definitely better than potentially weeks of headaches later if something goes wrong with my claim.
