If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing them? I know it's 2023, but some of these government offices still operate like it's 1995. Worth a shot if you're desperate!

I'm going through the exact same nightmare right now! Been calling for 3 weeks straight with no luck. The system is completely broken. I've tried calling at different times, using the online portal, even tried that redial trick someone mentioned. Nothing works. It's insane that we pay into this system and then can't access it when we actually need it. Has anyone had any success with emailing specific departments or supervisors? I'm willing to try anything at this point!

Any update? Were you able to reach EDD or use that Claimyr service? Curious if you got your payment issue resolved.

Great news! I ended up using Claimyr this morning and got through to EDD in about 15 minutes. The rep confirmed I certified too early, but she was able to override the hold and release my payment. Should be in my account by tomorrow! Thanks everyone for your help.

Glad to hear you got it resolved! I'm dealing with something similar right now - been waiting 2.5 weeks for my second PFL payment and it's stuck on "pending" too. Did the EDD rep mention anything about preventing this issue in the future? Like exactly when we're supposed to certify during the 2-week period? I want to make sure I don't mess up my next certification.

Hey! The EDD rep told me to wait until the very last day of my 2-week certification period before submitting. So if your period runs Sunday to Saturday, certify on that Saturday evening or Sunday morning at the earliest. She said certifying early triggers an automatic review flag in their system. Also mentioned that if you're ever unsure about timing, you can check the "certification periods" section in UI Online - it shows you the exact dates for each period. Hope this helps and you get your payment sorted soon!

Hey, former EDD employee here. The conflict notification usually means there's an issue with overlapping claim periods or inconsistent information. It's a pain, but you need to talk to someone to clear it up. Try calling first thing in the morning or right before they close - those are usually the best times to get through.

Ask them to review your claim for any overlapping periods or data inconsistencies. Sometimes it's as simple as a typo in a date. Also, have all your documents ready - paystubs, any letters from EDD, etc. The more info you can provide, the easier it'll be for them to sort it out.

This is super helpful! @Amina Diop I m'dealing with something similar - been stuck for weeks too. @Sean O Connor'do you know if there s'a way to check online what specific conflict is causing the issue, or do we have to call to find out?

I'm going through something similar right now! Had my baby in February and EDD cut off my disability payments 5 days before my doctor's return date. It's so frustrating when you're already dealing with postpartum recovery and a newborn. Reading through all these responses, it sounds like having your doctor submit that DE2501 extension form is the way to go. I'm definitely going to ask my OB to do the same thing. It's ridiculous that we have to jump through extra hoops for money we're already entitled to, but at least there seems to be a solution. Thanks for posting about this - I was starting to think I was the only one dealing with EDD inconsistencies between pregnancies!

You're definitely not alone! I've been reading through all these responses too and it's both frustrating and reassuring to know this is happening to so many of us. It really shouldn't be this complicated when we're dealing with newborns and recovery. I'm also going to have my doctor submit the extension form - seems like that's our best bet for getting those missing days paid. Hope you get your 5 days resolved quickly!

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! Had my baby in late February and EDD stopped paying me 3 days before my return-to-work date that my doctor certified. It's so confusing because with my first baby two years ago, they paid me right up until the day I went back to work. I'm a single mom and those missing days represent almost $500 that I really need right now. Between diapers, formula, and daycare deposits, every dollar counts. Reading through everyone's experiences here, it sounds like the doctor extension form is the way to go, but it's frustrating that we have to fight for benefits we should already be getting. Has anyone had success getting retroactive payment once the extension is approved, or do they just start paying from when the new form is submitted?

As someone who just joined this community and is currently pregnant with my first child while running a small consulting business, this thread has been incredibly eye-opening! I had no idea about the DIEC program either. @Keisha Jackson, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this stress during what should be an exciting time. Have you considered reaching out to SCORE or your local Small Business Development Center? They sometimes have resources or know about local grants for small business owners facing hardships. Also, some professional associations for graphic designers might have emergency assistance funds - it's worth checking if you're a member of any. I'm definitely going to look into enrolling in DIEC after reading everyone's experiences here. Thank you all for sharing such valuable information!

Welcome to the community, @Katherine Shultz! As another newcomer here, I'm also finding these discussions so valuable. The SCORE suggestion is brilliant - I hadn't thought about reaching out to small business resources for this kind of situation. @Keisha Jackson, if you haven't already, you might also want to check with your local WIC office or pregnancy resource centers. Even though they can't replace disability benefits, they sometimes have connections to emergency assistance programs or can point you toward other local resources. It's really unfortunate that we have to piece together this information ourselves instead of it being clearly explained when we start our businesses. But I'm grateful for communities like this where people share real experiences!

Hi @Keisha Jackson! I just joined this community and your post really caught my attention because I'm also self-employed (freelance marketing consultant) and trying to plan for a potential pregnancy in the next year or two. Reading through all these responses has been such a reality check for me - I had no idea about the DIEC program either! While I can't help with your current situation, I wanted to mention that some areas have sliding-scale childcare assistance programs that might help you get back to work sooner than planned if needed. Also, if you have any regular clients, now might be a good time to discuss potentially working reduced hours remotely during your recovery period, even if it's just light tasks you can do from home. I'm definitely going to apply for DIEC coverage after reading this thread. Thank you for asking this question - it's helping so many of us who didn't know we needed this information! Wishing you all the best with your pregnancy and hoping you can build up a good financial cushion over the next few months. 💙
