If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

This thread is such a goldmine of information! I'm currently in my first week of SDI for a shoulder injury and reading through everyone's experiences has me both grateful and terrified. Grateful because I now know to be proactive about checking form codes and fax numbers with my doctor's office, and terrified because it sounds like EDD's system is designed to trip people up at every turn. The fact that they can just stop payments without warning at the 12-week mark when people are most vulnerable is honestly cruel. I'm definitely going to bookmark this thread and start preparing early for potential extension requirements. It's ridiculous that we need to become EDD experts just to get benefits we've paid into, but thank you all for sharing your knowledge and making this maze a little more navigable for newcomers like me!

Welcome to the community and you're so smart to be reading through this at week 1! Honestly, this thread should be required reading for everyone starting an SDI claim - it could save so many people weeks of stress and financial hardship. Your instinct to bookmark this and start preparing early is exactly right. One thing I'd add to all the great advice already shared here is to also keep a simple spreadsheet or notes tracking all your important dates, forms submitted, confirmation numbers, and who you spoke with at EDD. The system seems designed to make you lose track of things and then blame you for missing deadlines or "not submitting" paperwork they actually received. It's honestly heartbreaking how many people in this thread went through unnecessary panic and financial stress just because EDD can't be bothered to communicate basic requirements clearly. But seeing how everyone comes together to help each other navigate this broken system really shows the power of community support!

As someone who just started my SDI claim last week for ankle surgery, this entire thread has been both incredibly helpful and absolutely terrifying! The number of people experiencing the exact same issue - payments suddenly stopping around week 11-12 with zero communication - really shows how broken EDD's system is. It's mind-boggling that they don't send any kind of heads up about extension requirements when they know most people don't understand the difference between supplementary certifications and actual extension requests. I'm already calling my doctor's office tomorrow to verify they have the current fax numbers and understand the correct form codes. Also setting calendar reminders for weeks 10 and 11 to proactively contact EDD about extensions rather than waiting for them to blindside me like they did to everyone here. Thank you all for sharing your experiences and solutions - this community is literally doing EDD's job for them at this point. It shouldn't take a village to figure out basic benefit requirements, but I'm so grateful this village exists!

This thread has been such a lifesaver! I've been lurking here for weeks dealing with my own SDI claim that's been pending for 5 weeks after my cervical spine surgery. Like everyone else, I've been completely unable to get through on the main disability line - that "call capacity" recording has become the soundtrack to my nightmares! The general information line trick that @Finley Garrett figured out is absolutely brilliant - what a creative way to work around the broken system! And learning about assembly member and senator offices being able to help is such valuable information that I wish was posted everywhere. It's both amazing and depressing that this community has had to reverse-engineer all these solutions just to access our own benefits. I'm definitely trying the 8am general info line approach tomorrow, and I've already looked up my assembly member's contact info as backup. This thread has become the most comprehensive SDI resource guide I've found anywhere - honestly more helpful than the entire EDD website! Will absolutely report back with my results to keep building this incredible knowledge base everyone has created. Thank you all for sharing what actually works instead of just complaining - this community support means everything when you're stressed about money while trying to recover from surgery!

Welcome to the community, Malik! Cervical spine surgery recovery is incredibly tough, and dealing with a 5-week claim delay on top of that is just unacceptable. You're absolutely right that this thread has accidentally become the best SDI resource guide available - it's wild that a community forum has better solutions than the official government resources! The general info line trick has been such a breakthrough for so many people here. It's crazy that we had to discover through trial and error what should probably be official guidance. Having your assembly member's info ready as backup is smart planning - spine surgery definitely qualifies as urgent medical need if you need to escalate. This whole thread really shows how broken the system is when we need to crowdsource workarounds just to access benefits we've paid into our whole careers. But I'm so grateful this community exists to help each other navigate the bureaucratic nightmare. Definitely try that 8am call tomorrow and don't get discouraged if it takes a few attempts. Keep us posted on your results - every success story helps prove these strategies work and gives hope to others dealing with the same frustrating situation. Hope you get through quickly so you can focus on your recovery!

This thread has become absolutely amazing - like a comprehensive survival guide for SDI phone hell! I'm currently dealing with my own claim that's been stuck for 3 weeks after my shoulder surgery, and reading through everyone's experiences has been both reassuring and incredibly helpful. The general information line trick is such a clever workaround - I never would have thought to try a different queue to bypass the main disability line bottleneck! And I had no idea about assembly member and senator offices being able to help with EDD issues. That's such valuable backup information that should be widely known but somehow isn't. It's honestly both impressive and ridiculous that this community has had to reverse-engineer all these solutions just to access benefits we've paid into our entire careers. This thread contains more practical advice than anything on the official EDD website, which really says something about how broken the system is. Going to try the 8am general info line strategy tomorrow morning, and I've already looked up my local representative's contact info just in case. Will definitely update with my results to keep adding to this incredible resource everyone has built together. Thanks to everyone for sharing what actually works - this kind of community support is exactly what people need when they're stressed about finances while trying to recover from medical procedures!

Welcome to the community, Giovanni! Your shoulder surgery recovery combined with 3 weeks of claim delays sounds so frustrating - it's exactly the kind of situation where we shouldn't need to become phone system hackers just to get basic help! You're spot on that this thread has become way more useful than any official resource, which is both amazing and pretty sad when you think about it. The general info line trick really has been the game-changer here - it's wild that we had to stumble onto this workaround through community trial and error rather than it being suggested anywhere officially. And having those legislative office contacts ready as your backup plan is such smart preparation, especially with a surgical recovery situation. It really highlights how broken things are when a random forum thread becomes the best guide available for navigating our own government benefits system! But I'm so grateful we all found each other and can share what actually works. Definitely give that 8am call a shot tomorrow - even if it takes a couple tries, so many people have had success with this approach. Your experience will definitely help keep building this amazing collective knowledge base we've created. Hope you get through quickly and can focus on healing instead of phone frustration!

Easy to say when you're not the one who can't pay rent or buy food. Some of us don't have the luxury of patience.

fair point. didn't mean to sound insensitive. hope things work out for everyone soon

This is such a common issue unfortunately. I went through the exact same thing last year - payments just stopped out of nowhere with zero communication. Turns out there was a "pending issue" on my account that I could only see by logging into the portal and digging through like 3 different menus. Check your account online first, then try the callback services if you can afford it. Also keep screenshots of everything - you'll need them later. The whole system is a mess but don't give up!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm definitely going to dig deeper into those hidden menus you mentioned. It's crazy how they bury important information like that. Did you end up getting all your back pay once you resolved the pending issue?

As someone who works in healthcare administration, I see these kinds of date confusion issues all the time! One thing that might help future readers is understanding that medical offices often have different staff handling different parts of the disability paperwork process. Sometimes the person filling out the DE 2501 form only has access to certain appointment records and might miss the full timeline of care. If you're ever in this situation again, when you're scheduling your initial consultation for a planned surgery, specifically mention that you'll be filing for SDI and ask them to make a note in your chart about the connection between that first visit and your upcoming disability claim. This can help ensure all the dates line up correctly on the paperwork. Also, for anyone reading this - most doctor's offices are happy to provide you with a copy of any disability forms before they submit them if you just ask. It takes 30 seconds and can save you weeks of headaches later! Glad everything worked out for you, Amara!

This is incredibly helpful insight from the healthcare admin perspective! I never would have thought to specifically mention SDI when scheduling that initial consultation, but that makes so much sense. Having that connection documented upfront could prevent so many of these date discrepancy issues. Your tip about asking for a copy of the disability forms before submission is gold - such a simple step that could save so much stress later. As someone who just went through this whole ordeal, I'm definitely going to remember these tips for any future medical situations. Thanks for sharing your professional expertise to help the rest of us navigate this system better!

Wow, reading through this entire thread has been so educational! I'm new to this community and had no idea how complex SDI claims could be. It's amazing how what initially looked like a scary denial notice turned out to be just a date adjustment that was actually calculated correctly. The biggest takeaway for me is how important it is to understand the difference between when you first see a doctor for a condition versus when your actual disability starts. I never would have thought that a pre-surgical consultation weeks earlier would affect the claim start date calculation. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and expertise here - this thread is going to help so many people who face similar situations. It's reassuring to know there's such a supportive community here willing to help decode EDD's confusing language and processes!

I completely agree! As another newcomer to this community, I'm blown away by how helpful everyone has been in breaking down such a confusing process. When I first read Amara's original post, I would have been just as panicked seeing that "denied" notice. But watching this whole conversation unfold really shows how important it is to dig deeper and understand what EDD is actually saying versus what it initially appears to mean. The collective knowledge here is incredible - from people sharing their personal experiences to healthcare professionals offering insider tips. I'm definitely saving this thread as a reference guide. It's so reassuring to find a community where people actually take the time to help each other navigate these bureaucratic nightmares!

Just wanted to jump in here and share some encouragement! I went through this exact same situation about 6 weeks ago - extension approved, submitted my supplementary certificate, and then had to play the waiting game. I ended up getting my payment on day 7, which seems pretty consistent with what everyone else is experiencing here. The hardest part is definitely the anxiety while you're waiting, especially when you really need the money. But reading through all these recent experiences, it's clear that the 7-10 day timeline is pretty reliable once your extension is approved and you've submitted a complete certificate. One small tip I'd add - if you're like me and tend to obsessively check your account, try setting specific times to check (like once in the morning and once at night) rather than constantly refreshing. It helped keep my stress levels down during the wait! Since your extension is already approved, you're really in the home stretch. That approval is honestly the biggest hurdle in this whole process. Hang tight and try not to stress too much about calling unless you hit that 10+ day mark. You've got this! 💪

This is such great advice, especially about setting specific check times instead of constantly refreshing! I'm definitely guilty of checking way too often and it just makes the anxiety worse. Day 7 payment is really encouraging to hear - seems like once you get past the extension approval hurdle, the processing is pretty reliable. Thanks for sharing your experience and the practical tip about managing the stress during the wait. It really helps to hear from people who just went through this! 🙏

I'm in a very similar situation right now - just submitted my supplementary certificate yesterday after getting my extension approved! Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly reassuring. The consistent 7-10 day timeline that people are sharing gives me so much hope, and it's clear that once you get past the extension approval (which sounds like the hardest part), the payment processing is pretty reliable. I really appreciate all the practical tips people have shared - especially about double-checking that the doctor filled out every section completely, confirming EDD received the documents in the online portal, and setting up account alerts. The advice about limiting how often you check your account to avoid driving yourself crazy is spot on too! 😅 It's so frustrating that we have to deal with rude customer service and long wait times for money we're entitled to, but this community has been amazing for sharing real experiences and timelines. Thanks to everyone who took the time to share - it makes this stressful process so much more manageable when you know what to expect. Fingers crossed we all get our payments processed smoothly! 🤞

Just wanted to add my voice to this supportive thread! I'm actually brand new to dealing with EDD disability, so reading through everyone's experiences has been incredibly helpful as I navigate this process. It's amazing how consistent the 7-10 day timeline seems to be once you get past the extension approval - that gives me a lot of confidence about what to expect when I eventually get to this stage. The tip about making sure every single section is filled out by the doctor is something I'm definitely going to remember. Thanks to everyone for creating such a welcoming and informative community here! 🙏
