If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Quick update based on recent posts: There have been widespread technical issues with the 2024-2025 FAFSA processing system. I've heard from multiple families experiencing similar reprocessing notifications. The Department of Education acknowledged these issues in their March bulletin. If your FAFSA was processed in February, you're actually ahead of many applicants despite this hiccup. Most schools are well aware of these processing delays and many have extended their financial aid deadlines accordingly. I'd recommend asking specifically if your daughter's school has any deadline extensions in place due to the FAFSA processing issues.

Thank you for this update! That makes me feel a bit better knowing it's a widespread issue. I'll definitely ask about deadline extensions when I call them.

Has anybody used ascent loans? i saw an ad for them saying they dont require cosigner for juniors and seniors with good grades. wondering if there legitimate or a scam

Ascent is legitimate. They do offer non-cosigned loans for upperclassmen with strong academic performance, but the interest rates are typically higher than cosigned loans. They're worth including in your comparison if your student is a junior or senior with good grades, but I'd still recommend having a cosigner if possible to secure better rates.

Since you're specifically asking about private loans after exhausting federal options, I'd suggest creating a spreadsheet to compare offers. Look at: 1) Total loan cost over the repayment period, not just the interest rate 2) Monthly payment amount during school vs. after graduation 3) Hardship options (some private lenders offer better forbearance terms than others) 4) Customer service ratings (crucial when issues arise) Also, many lenders offer pre-qualification that lets you check potential rates without a hard credit pull. This gives you a good initial comparison without affecting your credit score. One final consideration: some lenders have career support services, internship connections, and financial literacy resources for students. These added benefits might be valuable depending on your student's situation.

The spreadsheet is a great idea - we'll do that to keep everything organized. And I didn't know about the pre-qualification option without hard credit pulls. That would definitely help us narrow down options before formally applying. I'll look into the career support services too - my son is still figuring out his major so that could be helpful.

I had this same birth year loop problem and I think I accidentally made it worse? I tried creating a new FSA ID thinking that might help, but now my application shows BOTH accounts linked to it somehow and I'm completely locked out. Has anyone dealt with something similar? The verification system seems completely broken this year. I regret not applying back in October when it first opened.

Oh no, creating a second FSA ID can definitely cause problems! The system flags it as potential identity fraud. You'll need to call and specifically ask for the FSA ID recovery team. They can help untangle multiple accounts, but you'll need to verify your identity with pretty extensive documentation. They might ask for your previous tax returns, so have those ready.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know that after trying all the suggestions here, I FINALLY got past the birth year loop! What worked for me was: 1. Waiting until after the weekend patch the advisor mentioned 2. Using Firefox in private browsing mode 3. Manually typing my birth date instead of using dropdowns 4. Completing that section early morning (around 6am) I'm now able to continue with the application! I also contacted my daughter's school financial aid office and they were super understanding, gave her a 2-week extension on the priority deadline. Thanks everyone for your help!!

congrats!! still stuck in the loop myself but gonna try your exact steps tomorrow morning!

I'm freaking out because I completed ours in like 8 minutes but it's been 3 days and we still don't have an SAI!!! Did yours show up right away?? The status just says "processing" but no timeline or explanation! Should I call someone? Who do I even call?? Is this normal now???

Give it some time! Ours took a full day even though the system is faster now. If it's still stuck after a week, then start worrying.

If you need to call FSA, good luck getting through on your own. After being disconnected 6 times, I used Claimyr to connect with an agent. Their site (claimyr.com) has a video demo showing how it works. It was such a relief to actually talk to someone who could check my application status in real time.

UPDATE: We got our final SAI this morning and I just want to thank everyone for calming my nerves! I was definitely being paranoid after last year's disaster. Our final number is slightly different from the estimate (a bit lower actually, which is great). The simplified form really is working as designed. For anyone else coming from last year's nightmare experience - yes, it really is supposed to be this easy now!

That's great news! The system improvements are working as intended. If your SAI ended up lower than the initial estimate, they might have applied additional adjustments during final processing. Enjoy the simplicity - it's been a long time coming!

Just wanted to share a happy update - our daughter's financial aid package populated this morning! About 5 days after the link first appeared. Got a decent Pell Grant amount and some work-study. Still waiting on the Wisconsin Grant amount to show up, but the big federal pieces are there. For anyone still waiting, hang in there!

0 coins

That's fantastic news! Yes, state grants often come in a separate wave. The Wisconsin Grant typically shows up 7-10 days after the federal aid components. Glad to hear things are moving along for your family!

My nephew had the same thing at UW-Parkside, blank link for two weeks then suddenly the full aid package appeared. He had to accept each part individually tho and almost missed the deadline because the email went to spam! Tell your kids to check spam folders for anything from the financial aid office!

Oh that's a great reminder! I'll have her check her spam folder right now.
