Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Remember you can file your weekly claim even if you're waiting for your regular UI benefits to be approved. Don't wait - file every week from the start.
That's exactly my situation! I just got approved so I wasn't sure when to start. I'll file this Sunday for sure.
Correct. File weekly claims starting the week after you file your initial application, even during adjudication.

One more thing - if you're thinking about quitting, try to get laid off instead. Quitting makes it much harder to qualify even if you meet the wage requirements. Washington ESD will investigate and may deny benefits.
I'm not planning to quit, just worried about potential layoffs. But good to know.
I was in a similar situation last year. Worked 7 months, got laid off, and qualified without any issues. Made about $35k during those 7 months which was well above the minimum. The key is consistent wages, not duration.
That's reassuring. Sounds like I should be fine if something happens.
Just make sure you file immediately if you lose your job. Benefits are backdated to when you file, not when you lost the job.

Just want to add that if you're switching banks or updating your direct deposit info, that can also affect your payment timing. Washington ESD takes a few days to process banking changes.

Yes, and make sure to update it early in the week, not right before you file your weekly claim.
Bottom line - if you file by Sunday, expect payment Wednesday. If it doesn't come by Thursday, something's wrong and you need to contact Washington ESD.

If anyone needs to actually speak with Washington ESD about benefit calculations, I used Claimyr recently and it was a game changer. Finally got to talk to someone who could explain my determination in detail.
That's the second time someone mentioned that service. I might have to try it since I still don't fully understand my calculation.
It's definitely worth it if you're stuck trying to reach them through normal channels. The wait times are just impossible otherwise.
Bottom line - wage cuts before unemployment will likely reduce your weekly benefit amount because Washington ESD bases it on your earnings during specific quarters in your base period. The 1930s thing was definitely a misunderstanding!

I had a similar issue and it turned out Washington ESD had sent the payment to an old account that was closed. Even though my current account info was correct in their system, somehow the payment went to the wrong place. Took forever to get it sorted out.
