Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. One last tip - if you're married and file jointly, the unemployment income could push you into a higher tax bracket. Something to consider when planning.
Not married but good to know for others reading this thread.
Yeah we learned that the hard way. Spouse's unemployment plus my regular job put us in a higher bracket.

I'd recommend calling Washington ESD if you don't hear anything after 10 business days from filing. Sometimes claims get stuck and need a nudge. That's when services like Claimyr come in handy since the phone lines are always busy.

Final thought - while you're waiting, it might be worth starting your job search activities if you haven't already. Washington ESD requires job search activities once you start receiving benefits, so getting a head start can't hurt.

One last thing - make sure you save copies of your final weekly claim confirmation and any other important documents from your claim. You might need them for tax purposes or if any questions come up later.

Try calling Washington ESD one more time to see if you can get this sorted out without an appeal. I know the phone lines are terrible but sometimes you get lucky. If you can't get through, that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier might be worth trying - anything to avoid the stress of an appeal if it's not necessary.
