If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I had to appeal twice - lost the first hearing but won at the Board of Review level. Don't give up even if the first appeal doesn't go your way.

What was different about the Board of Review hearing?

0 coins

They actually looked at all the evidence more carefully. The first hearing officer seemed to just believe the employer without question.

Try calling Washington ESD one more time to see if you can get this sorted out without an appeal. I know the phone lines are terrible but sometimes you get lucky. If you can't get through, that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier might be worth trying - anything to avoid the stress of an appeal if it's not necessary.

You're right, I should exhaust all options before going the appeal route. I'll try Claimyr tomorrow if I can't get through on my own.

Good plan. Even if you do end up having to appeal, at least you'll know you tried everything. Good luck!

One last tip - if you're married and file jointly, the unemployment income could push you into a higher tax bracket. Something to consider when planning.

0 coins

Not married but good to know for others reading this thread.

0 coins

Yeah we learned that the hard way. Spouse's unemployment plus my regular job put us in a higher bracket.

thanks op for asking this question, i was wondering the same thing but felt dumb asking. glad to see im not the only one who didnt know unemployment was taxable

0 coins

Not dumb at all! Seems like a lot of people don't realize this until it's too late.

I'd recommend calling Washington ESD if you don't hear anything after 10 business days from filing. Sometimes claims get stuck and need a nudge. That's when services like Claimyr come in handy since the phone lines are always busy.

Good timeline to keep in mind. I'll give it another week and then start making calls if needed.

0 coins

Update us when you get your first payment! Always nice to hear success stories and it helps other people know what timeline to expect.

0 coins

Will do! Thanks everyone for all the helpful information. Feeling much more prepared now.

Final thought - while you're waiting, it might be worth starting your job search activities if you haven't already. Washington ESD requires job search activities once you start receiving benefits, so getting a head start can't hurt.

0 coins

Good idea! I'll start logging my job search activities even though I'm not approved yet.

0 coins

Exactly. It shows you're taking the requirements seriously and being proactive.

Best of luck with your claim! Keep us posted on how it goes. The waiting is tough but you're doing everything right by filing your weekly claims and staying on top of it.

Thanks so much everyone! This thread has been incredibly helpful and reassuring.

That's what this community is for! We're all here to help each other through the unemployment process.

One last thing - make sure you save copies of your final weekly claim confirmation and any other important documents from your claim. You might need them for tax purposes or if any questions come up later.

0 coins

Great advice, I'll make sure to print out everything before I stop filing. Better safe than sorry.

0 coins

Yes definitely keep records! I needed my benefit statements for a mortgage application two years later.

For anyone else reading this thread - if you need to reach Washington ESD about ending benefits or have other questions, that Claimyr service people mentioned actually works really well. I was skeptical at first but it saved me hours of trying to call myself.

0 coins

How exactly does it work? Do they just call for you?

0 coins

Yeah, you give them your info and they handle all the calling and waiting in the phone queue. Then they connect you directly to a Washington ESD agent when one becomes available. Check out their demo video if you want to see how it works.
