Just wanted to add - if you need help reaching Washington ESD for your appeal or questions, that Claimyr service people mentioned really does work. Used it myself when I was dealing with an overpayment issue. Sometimes you just need to talk to an actual person instead of trying to navigate their website or automated system.
Don't forget you can also check your claim status by calling the automated line at 1-800-318-6022. It's not perfect but sometimes gives you a bit more info than the website.
The approval process can feel like forever when you're waiting. I remember checking my account constantly. Now I tell everyone - file your weekly claims religiously and try not to stress too much about the timeline.
For anyone who's worried about owing back taxes on unreported unemployment income - the IRS is usually pretty reasonable about setting up payment plans. Don't panic, just get it sorted out as soon as possible.
Quick reminder that you need to keep all your unemployment documentation for at least 3 years in case the IRS has questions. This includes your 1099-G forms and any correspondence with Washington ESD.
The bottom line is file today. File right now. Don't wait. There's no benefit to waiting and you could lose money every day you delay. Washington ESD makes it pretty easy to file online.
Also worth mentioning that if you have any questions after you file, Washington ESD customer service can be really hard to reach by phone. If you need help and can't get through, definitely consider using a service like Claimyr to get connected faster. They made the process so much easier for me.

yeah and if you do run into problems with your claim, dont give up. the appeals process exists for a reason and you can often get decisions overturned if you have documentation to support your case

•Appeals can take months though, so it's better to get everything right the first time if possible.

One last thing about Claimyr - I used it when I was confused about my job search requirements and the agent was able to clarify exactly what activities counted. Sometimes you really need that human interaction to understand the rules properly.
