Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Quick reminder that if you're getting close to exhausting your benefits, you might want to consider temporary or contract work to bridge the gap. Even if it's not your ideal job, it can help while you continue searching for something permanent.
That's actually what I'm considering now. Better to have some income than none while continuing to look for the right opportunity.
Bottom line: 26 weeks maximum for regular Washington ESD unemployment benefits. No current extensions available. Make the most of your time and don't wait until the last minute to get serious about your job search. Good luck to everyone dealing with unemployment right now!

I called Washington ESD through that Claimyr service to ask about getting my tax withholding changed and they were super helpful. The agent explained that the 10% withholding is just an estimate and I might still owe more or get a refund depending on my total tax situation.
Good to know it's just an estimate. I'll probably have my taxes done professionally this year to make sure I get it right.
Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I had no idea unemployment was taxable and I've been collecting for months. Going to set up the tax withholding right now and start saving money for what I might already owe.

If you end up needing to appeal any decisions about your benefit amount, do it quickly. You only have 30 days from the date of the determination letter to file an appeal with Washington ESD.
Good to know. Hopefully I won't need to appeal anything but I'll keep that timeline in mind.
One more thing - make sure you're meeting all the eligibility requirements each week when you file your weekly claim. Being able and available for work, actively seeking work, etc. If you mess up those questions it can affect your payments.

Yeah I accidentally answered one of those questions wrong once and it flagged my claim for review. Took forever to get it sorted out. If that happens to anyone, that Claimyr service might help you reach someone to fix it faster.

Last tip - keep copies of everything you submit and screenshot your weekly claims. Washington ESD's system has been known to lose information.
