Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. If you're still having issues after checking everything, that Claimyr service people mentioned actually worked for me too. Got through to Washington ESD in like 20 minutes instead of spending all day calling.

For anyone still reading this thread - I just wanted to add that Washington ESD also has eligibility for people who are temporarily laid off or on standby status. It's different from regular unemployment but worth knowing about if your employer says the layoff is temporary.
What's the difference between standby and regular unemployment benefits?
With standby, you don't have to do job search activities because you're expected to return to your employer. But the job has to genuinely be temporary - usually less than 8 weeks.
This is such helpful information. I wish Washington ESD made this stuff clearer on their website. It's so confusing trying to figure out if you qualify when you're already stressed about losing income.
Totally agree. The government websites are always so hard to navigate when you're panicking about bills.

One last thing - keep filing your weekly claims even while your initial claim is under adjudication. If you don't file those weekly, you won't get paid for those weeks even if eventually approved.

Exactly. It's annoying to file claims when you don't know if you'll get approved, but you have to do it to preserve those weeks.
Bottom line - you won't know until you try. File the claim, be honest about what happened, provide your documentation, and let Washington ESD make the decision. Don't disqualify yourself before they even get a chance to review your case.

I've been collecting seasonal unemployment for 8 years and the only advice I have is to keep good records. Save all your pay stubs, keep track of your job search activities, and document everything. If Washington ESD ever audits you, you'll be glad you have the paperwork.

Bottom line - seasonal workers absolutely can get unemployment benefits in Washington. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. File your claim, follow the rules, and you should be fine. The system is set up to help people in exactly your situation.
