Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Just want to add that even if you get disqualified initially, it's not necessarily permanent. If you can show that you've addressed whatever led to your termination, you might qualify for benefits from a future job. Don't let one bad experience define your whole unemployment experience.
That's good to know for the future. Hopefully it won't come to that but it's reassuring.
Right, and most disqualifications are temporary anyway. Usually just a few weeks penalty rather than a permanent ban.

Random question but does military service count toward your base period? My husband is getting out next month and wondering about benefits.
Military service might qualify for Unemployment Compensation for Ex-servicemembers (UCX). It's similar to regular UI but has different rules.

One thing nobody mentioned - if your claim gets denied initially, you can request all the documents Washington ESD used to make their decision. This includes what your employer told them about why you were fired. Sometimes employers lie or exaggerate to avoid paying higher unemployment taxes.
