Just be prepared for the process to take longer than you expect. Even straightforward claims can take a few weeks, and if anything goes wrong it stretches out even more.
One last tip - keep records of everything. Screenshots of your online account, confirmation numbers, notes from phone calls. If something goes wrong you'll want documentation of what happened and when.
Going to echo what others said about keeping good records. Also screenshot your weekly claim confirmations - I've had the system glitch and lose my filed claims before.
Last thing - if you find work again quickly, you still need to report it properly when you file your weekly claims. Don't just stop filing without going through the proper process.
Just wanted to add - keep copies of everything you submit to Washington ESD. Emails, documents, screenshots of your weekly claims, everything. You never know when you might need to reference something later.
Final thought - don't be afraid to ask questions if you're unsure about anything. It's better to ask and get it right than to guess and potentially mess up your claim.
This has been incredibly helpful everyone! I feel much more confident about applying now. Going to get all my documents together this weekend and file Sunday night. Really appreciate all the detailed responses.

Check your spam folder too - sometimes Washington ESD emails end up there. And make sure your mailing address is correct because they still send important notices by mail.

•Good point about spam folder! I'll double-check that and verify my address in my account.
