If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more thing - if you do apply for unemployment while on SSI, make sure you report it to both agencies immediately. Trying to navigate this secretly could get you in trouble with both programs and potentially result in overpayment demands.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I think I need to call both agencies and get official answers for my specific situation before making any decisions.

Definitely the smart approach. And if you can't get through to Washington ESD the normal way, definitely consider that Claimyr option. Getting real answers is worth it for a situation this complex.

Good luck OP! This stuff is way more complicated than it should be. Hope you get the answers you need and find the best solution for your situation.

Thank you! This thread has been incredibly helpful. At least now I know the right questions to ask when I do get through to someone.

does turbotax or other tax software handle unemployment benefits automatically if you import your 1099-g? or do you have to enter it manually?

0 coins

Most tax software can import 1099-G information directly, but it's always good to double-check that the amounts match what's on your actual form.

0 coins

perfect, that should make it easier. thanks

Bottom line for anyone still reading this thread: unemployment benefits from 2021 are fully taxable, there's no exemption like there was for 2020, and you'll need to report everything on your 1099-G as income. If you didn't have taxes withheld, set aside money or set up a payment plan with the IRS. And next time, elect to have taxes withheld from your weekly claims to avoid this situation.

No problem. Tax season is stressful enough without being confused about the basics.

agreed, this thread has been super helpful for understanding the whole situation

Another vote for using Claimyr if you need to talk to Washington ESD. I was stuck in adjudication limbo for weeks and couldn't get through on the phone. Claimyr got me connected to an agent who was able to expedite my case review.

Seems like a lot of people have had success with that service. Might be worth trying if I run into issues.

0 coins

I was skeptical at first but it really works. Saved me hours of frustration trying to call Washington ESD myself.

Bottom line - medical absences are generally not considered misconduct. You should be fine as long as you have documentation and didn't violate any other major policies. Apply ASAP and don't let them intimidate you.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I'm going to file my claim today and gather all my medical documentation.

0 coins

Good luck! Remember to keep filing those weekly claims no matter what.

The most important thing is to report work immediately. I made the mistake of waiting until my next weekly claim and it flagged my account for review. Took weeks to sort out.

0 coins

How do you report work immediately? Do you have to call or is there an online option?

0 coins

You report it on your weekly claim filing. Just don't wait - file as soon as your week ends and include any work you did that week.

Bottom line is Washington ESD wants you to get back to work. The system is designed to support the transition, not penalize you for finding employment. Just be honest about everything.

Good luck with the new job! Hope it works out well for you.

Thank you! This thread has been incredibly helpful.

Final thought - if you do run into any snags and need to actually speak with someone at Washington ESD, definitely consider using a callback service like Claimyr rather than spending hours on hold. Made all the difference for me when I had questions about my claim.

0 coins

I'll keep that in mind if I need it. Hopefully everything processes smoothly but good to know there are options.

0 coins

Exactly. Better to know about it and not need it than the other way around.

0 coins

Sounds like you're on the right track. Mass layoffs are one of those situations where the system actually works pretty well once everything gets going.

0 coins

That seems to be the consensus here. Feeling much more optimistic about the timeline now.

Good to hear! Sometimes the anticipation is worse than the actual process.
