If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more tip - keep detailed records of your business closure expenses and timeline. Washington ESD will want to see proof that the closure was involuntary and legitimate, not strategic.

I have all my lease documents, final utility bills, and client communications showing the situation. Should be enough documentation.

0 coins

That sounds perfect. The more documentation you have, the smoother the adjudication process will go.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! This thread answered questions I didn't even know I had about business owners and unemployment benefits.

0 coins

Same here! Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences. Makes the whole process seem less intimidating.

This is why I love this forum - real people with real experiences helping each other navigate the Washington ESD system.

The whole system is so confusing! I've been trying to figure out if I qualify for weeks. Maybe I should just call and ask directly instead of guessing.

0 coins

Good luck getting through! I've been trying to call for two weeks and either get a busy signal or get disconnected after waiting for an hour.

0 coins

That's exactly why I ended up using Claimyr. Check out their demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ to see how it works. They handle all the calling frustration for you.

Based on what you've shared, it sounds like you should qualify. $18,000 is well above the minimum earnings requirement, and being laid off due to restructuring typically qualifies as being unemployed through no fault of your own.

Thanks for the reassurance! I'm going to apply this week and see what happens. This thread has been incredibly helpful.

You're welcome! Just remember to keep good records of everything and don't hesitate to ask questions if you get confused during the process.

Pro tip: if you're ever unsure about how to answer these weekly claim questions, you can call the Washington ESD customer service line. Though good luck getting through without help - that's why services like Claimyr exist.

I've tried calling Washington ESD so many times and either get busy signals or get hung up on after waiting for an hour.

0 coins

That's exactly why I ended up using Claimyr. Sometimes you need to talk to an actual person to understand these forms properly.

0 coins

Bottom line: 'Not adversely affected' = you were able and available for work that week. 'Adversely affected' = something prevented you from being able to accept work. Keep it simple and answer based on your actual situation.

0 coins

Perfect summary! Thank you everyone for explaining this. I feel much more confident filling out my weekly claim now.

Glad this thread helped! These Washington ESD forms can be so confusing at first.

Honestly, the qualification requirements aren't that complicated once you break them down. Work history, earnings, separation reason, and ongoing availability. If you check those boxes, you should be fine. The bigger challenge is usually dealing with the system once you're approved!

0 coins

So true. Getting approved is one thing, but then you have to navigate all the weekly reporting and job search requirements.

0 coins

I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. First step is just getting my claim filed and approved.

0 coins

I had to use Claimyr twice during my claim - once for initial questions and once when my claim went into adjudication for weeks. Both times they got me through to someone who could actually help. Sometimes it's worth paying a little to avoid the endless phone tag with Washington ESD.

0 coins

I might look into that if I run into issues. Calling government agencies is always such a nightmare.

0 coins

Yeah, Washington ESD's phone system is particularly frustrating. At least with Claimyr you know you'll actually talk to someone.

0 coins

Another success story with Claimyr here - I was going crazy trying to reach someone at Washington ESD to confirm my work history was correct in their system. Claimyr got me through to an agent who was able to verify everything and even caught an error that would have delayed my claim.

0 coins

That's exactly the kind of thing I'm worried about. How do you know if your work history is accurate in their system?

0 coins

You can see some of it when you file online, but talking to an agent is really the only way to make sure everything is correct and up to date.

0 coins

Bottom line: it's not about months worked, it's about meeting the earnings requirements during the base period. As long as you earned enough money and have wages in at least two quarters, you should be good to file a claim.

Perfect summary! Thanks everyone for helping me understand this better. Time to dig up my pay stubs and do some math.
