Any updates? Were you able to get through to anyone? Curious if Claimyr worked for you.
Yes! Claimyr actually worked really well. Got connected to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes yesterday. They told me my claim was flagged for an employer verification issue (my previous employer hadn't responded to their inquiry). The agent escalated it and said I should see movement within 72 hours. I'm still going to contact my state rep as backup though, just to cover all bases. Thanks everyone for the helpful advice!
That's awesome news about Claimyr working for you! Really glad to hear you got some answers about the employer verification issue. It's so frustrating that ESD doesn't proactively communicate these kinds of roadblocks - you shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to find out what's actually holding up your claim. Definitely smart to still contact your state rep as backup. Hope you see that movement in the next couple days and can finally get your benefits flowing. Thanks for updating us - this info will definitely help other folks in similar situations!
This is such a relief to hear! I've been following your situation closely since I'm dealing with something similar. The fact that Claimyr actually worked gives me hope - I was skeptical about paying for a service to help with something that should be free, but 20 minutes vs. endless failed attempts seems totally worth it. The employer verification issue makes so much sense too - it's ridiculous that they don't just tell you upfront what's causing the delay. Really appreciate you taking the time to update everyone here. Wishing you the best with getting everything resolved!
Pro tip: screenshot your weekly claim confirmation page every time you file. Helps if there are ever any disputes about timing or missed claims.
Hey Austin! I totally get the anxiety about waiting for that first payment. I've been there too and it's nerve-wracking when you're counting on the money. From my experience, Washington ESD is pretty consistent with their Tuesday/Wednesday payment schedule once you're in the system. Since your claim shows "paid" status, that's actually a really good sign - it means everything processed correctly on their end. The delay you're seeing is likely just the normal banking processing time. Most people I know with direct deposit see their payments hit Tuesday morning, but it can vary slightly depending on your bank. Hang in there - it should show up soon!
Great decision! Remember to file your weekly claims on time once you're approved, and keep track of your job search activities. Good luck!
You should definitely file your claim right away! I went through a similar situation last year where I was terminated for "performance issues" after 6 months at my job. I was terrified I wouldn't qualify, but Washington ESD approved my claim because poor performance isn't the same as misconduct. The key is that you weren't doing anything willfully wrong or violating company policies - you were just struggling to meet their expectations, which happens to lots of people. Don't let the stress eat you alive while you wait - I know it's scary, but most performance-based terminations get approved. Make sure you have all your employment documents ready when you file online at secure.esd.wa.gov, and be completely honest about what happened. You've got this!
Did you have to repay any of the benefits after they were approved? I'm worried about getting everything and then being hit with an overpayment notice later.
This is so encouraging to hear! I'm currently on week 2 of adjudication and already feeling stressed about it. My situation is similar - I was laid off due to company restructuring but I'm worried my employer might not respond quickly to ESD's requests. Did you have any backup documentation on your end that helped, like your termination letter or final paystub? I want to make sure I have everything ready in case ESD needs additional info from me while they're waiting on my employer.

One last thing - if you run into any issues with your claim after the move, document everything. Keep screenshots of your address updates and any correspondence with Washington ESD.

•Yeah, having documentation saved me when there was a mix-up with my case. Better safe than sorry.

I went through the exact same thing when I moved from Bellingham to Vancouver! The most important thing is updating your address in your SecureAccess Washington account right away - don't wait. Also make sure to register with WorkSourceWA in your new area and update your job search preferences to reflect Spokane opportunities. I was worried it would be complicated but it was actually pretty straightforward once I got everything updated. The key is just being proactive about it. Good luck with your move and job search!
