If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

NOT ALWAYS! My employer didn't respond and ESD STILL denied me initially claiming they

sorry that happened to u. i was just sharing what happened to my brother. guess it depends on the adjudicator u get

Just wanted to mention - make sure you keep doing your weekly claims even while waiting for the first payment! Some people think they only need to file after getting paid, but you need to keep certifying every week without interruption.

0 coins

Yes, I've been filing every Sunday like clockwork! One question though - do I need to list the exact same job search activities in the same order each week? Or is it okay to switch them up as long as I'm doing the required three activities?

0 coins

You should definitely switch them up! They want to see different job search activities each week. Mix in applying for jobs, updating your resume, attending WorkSource workshops, having informational interviews, etc. Using the exact same activities looks suspicious like you're not actually job searching.

my roomate got his payment like the next day after approval but his was a different type of claim i think... standby or something? so maybe it depends on what type of unemployment you have

Just to clarify some confusion in this thread - there are actually two different overpayment collection processes at ESD: 1. Voluntary repayment plans - where you've arranged to make payments on specific dates 2. Benefit offsets - where they automatically take a portion of your benefits If you're on a voluntary plan and miss a payment, they don't automatically switch to offsets. They'll typically send notices first if you've missed multiple payments. Being one day late shouldn't trigger anything in their system. Also, keep in mind that with the holiday, their payment processing is likely delayed anyway. Your payment from today probably won't even register as "late" in their system.

wait so if im on a payment plan they WONT take money from my benefits? they've been taking 25% every week even tho i set up a plan??

0 coins

Update: My benefit payment just hit my account this morning! Normal amount, no deductions or delays. Looks like being one day late on the overpayment didn't affect anything. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance!

Awesome! Glad it worked out. Holiday stress is bad enough without worrying about benefit payments too.

I've been trying to get through to ESD for THREE WEEKS to ask this exact question!!! The phone system is impossible - I've called 42 times and either get hung up on or told the wait is over 2 hours and then disconnected anyway. I've tried eServices messaging but no response. I'm going to miss out on benefits because I can't get a simple answer about holiday pay!

I had the same issue trying to reach ESD last month. A friend told me about this service called Claimyr that got me through to an ESD agent in about 25 minutes instead of spending days trying. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. It really saved me when I needed to ask about my adjudication issue. Way better than getting disconnected dozens of times.

Here's the official guidance: When filing by phone, answer all questions truthfully. For holiday pay specifically: 1. When asked if you received or will receive holiday pay, press 1 for YES 2. Enter the GROSS amount (before taxes) using the keypad 3. The system will calculate any deductions automatically Keep in mind that ESD can verify your earnings with your employer, so reporting accurately is crucial. As others mentioned, your benefit will be reduced by 75% of what you earn above $162.25, not eliminated entirely unless your holiday pay exceeds your weekly benefit amount plus the earnings allowance. If you continue to have questions about the phone filing process, the automated system does have an option to speak with a claims specialist, though wait times can be long during holiday periods.

This makes complete sense now. I feel much more prepared to do my claim this week. Thank you all for the clear explanations! I'll be sure to report the $240 accurately.

this is why i always do my claims online never by phone. the phone system is garbage and makes these kinds of mistakes way too easy. not helpful for ur current situation i know but for future reference. also try calling right at 7am thats when u have best chance of getting thru

Just checking back - were you able to get this resolved? For the benefit of others who might encounter a similar issue, it would be helpful to know what eventually worked. The phone-based weekly claim system does have these quirks that can cause problems, especially when a call is interrupted.

We finally got through! It took 3 days of calling right at 7am, but we finally connected with someone yesterday. They could see the partial claim in the system and fixed it on the spot. Payment should come through next week with no reduction. For anyone else with this issue - persistence is key! Also, the agent told us that hanging up mid-claim is actually quite common and they have a specific procedure for fixing it. Thanks everyone for your advice!
