If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Don't panic yet! The ESD system sometimes slows down processing times when they're doing back-end updates or when they have higher claim volumes. I've had claims stay in 'processing-ivr' for up to 5 business days before suddenly switching to 'paid' without any action on my part. That said, I'd recommend checking your Notices/Letters section in eServices to see if they've sent you any requests for information that you might have missed. If there's nothing there and you hit day 5 with no movement, then it's definitely time to call.

I checked my Notices section and there's nothing new there. Tomorrow will be day 4, so I'll try calling if it doesn't change by then. I appreciate the advice!

Just want to update everyone - my claim that was stuck in 'processing-ivr' finally moved to 'paid' this morning. It took 6 days total. I never got through to ESD on the phone, but it resolved itself. So sometimes it really is just a delay in their system without any actual issues. Hope this helps calm some nerves!

That's good to know, thanks for sharing! Mine just switched to 'paid' this morning too! Relief! Seems like they're just taking longer than usual this week for some reason.

dont worry to much about the job search stuff when ur going back to work. just put that u looked at the union job board and checked indeed and ur good

I wouldn't recommend this approach. While it might seem harmless, ESD does conduct random audits of job search activities. If selected for audit, you'd need to provide details about those job searches. Better to do legitimate activities you can document if needed.

Update: Finally got through to ESD this morning after trying the different browser suggestion (plus using that Claimyr service someone mentioned). They confirmed I should select 'temporarily laid off' and enter my return date. The agent submitted a backdate request for my Christmas week too! She said standby status is now mainly for employer-requested situations with special circumstances, and most construction workers with 1-2 week gaps should just do the job search requirements. Thanks everyone for your help!

Great to hear you got it resolved! For future reference, make note of your claim ID number, the name of the agent you spoke with, and the date of your call. Having this documentation has saved me several times when there were follow-up issues with ESD.

my friend works at esd (not saying more than that) and says they're supposed to respond to governor inquiries within 48hrs but nobody gets in trouble when they don't. its all about which agent gets assigned to your case. some are good some dgaf

Quick update for everyone following this thread: ESD recently changed their processing priorities. They're now responding to governor's office inquiries within 3-5 business days for simple issues, but employer disputes like yours are taking 7-10 business days because they need to contact the employer for their side. This change happened in February 2025, so some older posts about getting immediate results after contacting the governor's office are no longer reflecting current timeframes.

That explains a lot! Thanks for the updated information. I'll adjust my expectations accordingly and give it the full 10 business days before trying other options.

After thinking about this more, I realized there's one more thing to consider - if you waited until January to file, the Oct-Dec quarter would become part of your base year, but you'd lose the earliest quarter (which might be lower anyway). If your wages were significantly higher in October, that might actually help.\n\nHowever, this only makes sense if:\n1. You can financially manage without unemployment until January\n2. Your October wages were high enough to offset losing a quarter from the previous year\n3. You don't risk exceeding the earnings limit for any weeks you might try to claim in November/December\n\nJust something to consider as an alternative approach.

That's a really interesting strategy I hadn't considered. I'd lose January-March 2024 wages, which were decent but not great. And October 2025 was actually very strong with lots of overtime as we rushed to finish projects before winter. \n\nI have some savings I could stretch through December if needed. Definitely going to run the numbers on this option. Thanks for the creative thinking!

Good suggestion! Just checked and there's nothing new there beyond the approval letter for the expired claim. Still need to resolve the new claim issue somehow.

One last piece of advice: when you upload your documents to the new claim, be very explicit in your explanation letter. Write something like: "This documentation is for the separation issue on my new claim beginning 11/15/2025. ESD has already made a determination on this same separation issue for my previous claim (ending 11/14/2025), finding that I am eligible for benefits despite my employer's misconduct allegation. The determination number is [insert if you have it]. Please reference this previous determination when reviewing my new claim." Being super clear and connecting the dots for them can save weeks of processing time.

This is extremely helpful - thank you! I'll use this exact wording in my explanation letter when I upload everything. Really appreciate the specific advice.
