If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One thing nobody mentioned - if you move to a different state while collecting Washington unemployment, you need to notify Washington ESD. The rules can get complicated for interstate claims.

0 coins

Good to know, though I'm not planning to move anytime soon.

0 coins

Yeah just something to keep in mind. Interstate claims can cause payment delays if not handled properly.

0 coins

Bottom line - file your weekly claims on time, keep looking for work, report any earnings, and keep good records. The payments will come as long as you follow the rules.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I feel much more confident about the process now.

You're welcome! Come back if you have more questions.

Remember to report any vacation pay or severance you received. That can delay your benefits if you don't report it upfront.

0 coins

I did get a small severance, so I'll make sure to include that.

0 coins

Good, better to be transparent about everything from the start.

Welcome to the club nobody wants to join! But seriously, you'll get through this. The unemployment system exists for exactly this situation.

0 coins

Ha, thanks for putting it in perspective. Here goes nothing!

0 coins

We've all been there. You got this!

I used to work in HR and saw a lot of confusion about this. The bottom line is Washington state is pretty generous about allowing unemployment with severance compared to some other states. Just be honest and report everything properly.

0 coins

Thanks for the HR perspective! That's reassuring to hear from someone who dealt with this from the employer side.

0 coins

Agree about being honest. I tried to hide my severance thinking it would help and it just made things worse when Washington ESD found out during their audit.

Final thought - if your employer offers you a choice between different severance options, consider how each one might interact with your unemployment benefits. Sometimes the option that looks better upfront isn't actually the best when you factor in UI benefits.

0 coins

That's a really good point I hadn't considered. I'll make sure to think through all the implications before choosing.

The benefit amount calculation is just the start. The real challenge is navigating all the requirements and keeping up with the weekly claims. Make sure you understand the system before you need it!

Thanks for all the advice everyone! This thread has been super helpful for understanding what to expect.

Bottom line: $52k income will probably get you around $750-850/week depending on how your earnings were distributed. Just be prepared for the bureaucracy and potential delays in the system.

0 coins

Perfect summary! I feel much more prepared now if I need to file a claim.

Also worth mentioning that certain groups have special considerations - veterans, people with disabilities, victims of domestic violence. If any of those apply to you, there might be additional support available.

0 coins

Where can you find info about those special programs?

0 coins

The Washington ESD website has sections for each group, or you can ask when you call their customer service line.

Bottom line - if you think you might qualify, just apply. The worst that happens is they say no, but if you do qualify, those benefits can really help bridge the gap while you look for more work or wait for your hours to pick back up.

0 coins

You're right, I should just go for it. Better to try than wonder what if.

0 coins

Exactly! And even if there are issues with your claim, they can usually be resolved. Just don't wait too long to apply.
