If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

The whole employer notification thing used to stress me out too, but my old boss never even mentioned it when I ran into him months later. I think most employers just deal with the paperwork and move on.

That's what I'm hoping for in my situation too.

You'll probably be fine. Most people file for unemployment at some point in their careers.

Great thread, learned a lot about how the funding actually works. I always assumed it came straight from the employer but the pooled system makes way more sense.

0 coins

Yeah I feel much better about filing now that I understand how it all works.

Knowledge is power when it comes to understanding your benefits!

One more thing - if you're having trouble with the online system or need to update information after you file, that's when services like Claimyr really come in handy. The website can be glitchy and phone lines are always busy, so having a way to actually reach someone at ESD is valuable.

Good to know there are options if I run into technical issues. The last thing I want is to have my claim delayed because of website problems.

Exactly. I had my claim stuck in adjudication for weeks because of a simple data entry error, and Claimyr helped me get it resolved quickly.

Bottom line: Washington ESD unemployment benefits = based on your work history only. Family size doesn't matter for the benefit amount. But definitely include accurate family info on your application and look into other assistance programs that DO consider dependents.

Good luck with your claim! The process is usually pretty smooth once you get started.

And remember to keep detailed records of your job search activities from day one. Makes the weekly claims much easier.

Keep us updated on how it goes! Your experience might help someone else in the same situation.

Will do. Hopefully I'll have good news to share in a few weeks.

One last thing - if you end up having to pay it back, ask about setting up a payment plan instead of them taking the whole refund at once. They usually work with you on that.

0 coins

That's definitely better than losing it all at once. I'll keep that in mind as a backup option.

Another thing to keep in mind - if your employer contests your claim, that can definitely delay payments while Washington ESD investigates. They have to determine if you were laid off, fired for cause, quit voluntarily, etc. This process is called adjudication and can take several weeks.

It's not super common for straightforward layoffs, but it does happen. You'd know because Washington ESD would send you paperwork asking for your side of the story.

0 coins

If you do get contested, that's definitely when something like Claimyr becomes really useful. Adjudication questions can be complicated and you want to make sure Washington ESD has all the right information.

Bottom line - Washington employers pay quarterly unemployment insurance taxes that fund the system. Washington ESD pays your weekly benefits from that fund. The timing of your benefits depends on your weekly claim filing, not on any employer payment schedule. Hope that clears things up!

Perfect summary, thank you! I feel much better understanding how this actually works now.

Yeah this thread was really helpful. I had the same misconception about employers paying directly.

One last thing about getting help - if you do run into problems with Washington ESD and can't reach them by phone, Claimyr has been a lifesaver for a lot of people. They help you actually get through to a human being when you need answers.

Good to know there's a backup plan if I can't reach them directly. Thanks for all the advice everyone!

You should be all set with regular UI. File online, keep up with your weekly claims, do your job searches, and you'll get through this fine. Washington ESD's system works for most people despite all the complaints you hear.

I feel a lot better about this now. Going to file my claim tonight.

Good luck! Remember the sooner you file, the sooner your waiting week starts counting.
