Just as a heads up, you'll need to create a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account if you don't already have one. That's how you access the Washington ESD online services.
Remember that unemployment benefits are temporary - in Washington you can collect for up to 26 weeks in most cases. Use the time wisely to find your next job rather than just relying on the benefits.
One more tip - if your claim gets stuck in adjudication or you have issues with your benefit calculation, getting on the phone with Washington ESD is really the only way to resolve it quickly. The online system can only do so much.
If you do end up having to appeal, there's usually a hearing where you can present your case in person (or over the phone). I've seen people win appeals even when the initial determination went against them. Having your safety complaint documentation organized and ready to present will be huge if it comes to that.
I used Claimyr twice last year when I couldn't get through to Washington ESD about different issues with my claim. Both times they got me connected within a few hours instead of me spending days trying to call. Definitely recommend checking it out if you run into problems reaching an agent.
The Washington ESD website actually has pretty good information about eligibility requirements if you know where to look. The hard part is usually getting through to talk to someone if you have specific questions about your situation.
That's why I ended up using Claimyr when I needed to talk to someone. So much easier than trying to call on your own.

Bottom line: $999 is the max, but most people won't get that much. The average in Washington is probably closer to $400-500 per week. Still better than nothing though!

•That makes sense. I'm just glad I'll have something coming in while I job hunt.

•Exactly. Any income is better than zero income when you're between jobs.

•Agreed! Way more useful than trying to decipher the official ESD website.
