For your income level, you're probably looking at somewhere around $450-550 per week based on what others have shared. That's actually decent compared to what some states pay. The Washington ESD system isn't perfect but the benefit amounts are reasonable.
Just a heads up - they recently updated some of the job search requirements so make sure you're looking at current info on the Washington ESD website. The rules change sometimes and you don't want to get caught off guard.
The bottom line is that most people who worked steadily and got laid off will qualify for unemployment. The requirements aren't as strict as some people think, especially if you worked full-time for several months.
Good luck with your claim! The whole process can seem overwhelming at first but once you get started it's pretty straightforward. Just make sure to keep track of all your job search activities from day one.
The only time my payment was really delayed was when there was a system update at Washington ESD. Took an extra 2 days that week but they sent notifications about it.
Bottom line: File Sunday, get paid Tuesday/Wednesday. It's been consistent for me over 6 months. Don't stress too much about the exact timing - it'll come.
The earnings allowance has been a lifesaver for me. I've been able to take on some consulting work while still collecting most of my benefits. It's really helped financially during this transition period.
Thanks everyone for all this information! I feel much more confident about taking on part-time work now. The earnings allowance is way more generous than I expected. Time to start looking for some supplemental income opportunities.
Glad we could help! Just remember to keep good records and report everything accurately. Good luck with your job search and part-time work!
Same here - this thread has been super helpful. I'm going to look into that Claimyr service too if I need to call Washington ESD about anything else.

Don't forget that you can also check your potential benefit amount estimate on the Washington ESD website before you actually file a claim. It's not 100% accurate but gives you a ballpark figure.

•I tried that but the estimate seemed really vague. It just gave me a range rather than a specific amount.

•Yeah the online calculator is pretty basic. You really need to talk to someone or file the actual claim to get your exact weekly benefit amount.

Just want to echo what others have said about Claimyr being helpful for getting through to Washington ESD. I was skeptical at first but they actually delivered on getting me connected when I needed to clarify some benefit calculation questions. Worth considering if you're having trouble reaching them through normal channels.

•I might try them too. I've been trying to reach Washington ESD for two weeks about my claim and getting nowhere.
