The system usually works pretty well once you understand the timing. Just filed mine this morning and expecting it Wednesday as usual.
Great to hear it worked out! For anyone else reading this thread, the Tuesday filing to Thursday payment timeline is pretty typical for Washington ESD when there are no complications with your claim.
Glad this worked out for you! Just shows that the system does work when everything goes smoothly. The key is filing consistently and keeping good records of your job search.
I was in retail too and qualified no problem. Made about $15k the year before I got laid off from part-time work. The key is consistent employment, doesn't matter if it was part-time. Your situation sounds very similar to mine.
If you're still worried about eligibility, you could try calling Washington ESD directly, but good luck getting through. I tried for days and finally gave up. Used Claimyr to get connected and the agent confirmed my eligibility in about 10 minutes. Sometimes it's worth paying for convenience when you're already stressed about losing your job.
One last tip - if your benefit amount seems wrong when you get your determination letter, you can appeal it. Sometimes they miscalculate wages or use the wrong base period. You have 30 days to appeal if you think there's an error.
Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! This thread has been way more useful than the Washington ESD website. I feel much more confident about filing now.
Remember about Claimyr if you run into issues getting through to them. It really does work.

One more tip - when you do apply, be completely honest about why you left your job. Trying to make it sound better than it was can backfire if they investigate and find inconsistencies. Better to let them make the determination based on the real facts.

•Yeah, I definitely plan to be straightforward about the hour reduction situation. Hopefully they'll see it as reasonable cause for quitting.

•That's the right approach. Good luck with your application!

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I think I have a much better understanding now of what I need to do. Going to gather my documentation and probably apply this week since it sounds like timing matters.

•And remember that Claimyr option if you need to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD about your specific situation. Sometimes getting a real person on the phone makes all the difference.
