Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

That's a great way to look at it! I was thinking of it as potentially complicating my benefits, but you're right that it has advantages beyond just the money.
One last thing - make sure you understand when your weekly claim period runs. If you work Monday-Sunday but your claim week is Sunday-Saturday, you need to make sure you're reporting earnings in the correct week. The dates matter for accurate reporting.
Good catch! I need to check what my claim week dates are. I think it's Sunday to Saturday but I should verify that.
Your claim week dates are shown when you file your weekly claim online. Usually Sunday through Saturday, but double-check to be sure.

Anyone know if there are income limits for extension eligibility? My spouse started working part-time recently.
Extension eligibility is typically based on your individual claim history, not household income. But you should report any income changes on your weekly claims.

Just want to add that if you do part-time work while collecting unemployment, they'll reduce your weekly benefit amount. But you can still earn some money without losing all your benefits.

I think you can earn up to your weekly benefit amount minus $5 before they start deducting. So if your benefit is $700, you could earn up to $695 and still get some unemployment.
Bottom line - file your claim as soon as possible. Even if you're not sure about the amount, you can't get benefits for weeks you don't claim. The sooner you start the process, the sooner you'll know exactly what you qualify for.

For what it's worth, my waiting period was actually longer than expected because I filed my claim on a holiday weekend. The processing doesn't start until the next business day, so timing matters.
Good point, I filed on a Tuesday so hopefully that helps with timing.
Yeah definitely file early in the week if you can. Weekend filings always seem to take longer to process.
The waiting period is annoying but just focus on your job search during that week. By the time your first payment comes through, you'll hopefully already have some good leads or even interviews lined up.
