Just remember - file after the week ends, be honest about work and job search, and don't skip weeks. Those are the basics that will keep you out of trouble.
One last thing - if you're ever confused about Washington ESD procedures, their website has some helpful tutorials. But honestly calling can be faster if you can get through.
Getting through is the hard part! I mentioned Claimyr earlier but it's seriously been a game changer for reaching Washington ESD agents when I have questions.
For anyone still struggling to get through to Washington ESD about urgent issues, I really can't recommend Claimyr enough. When you're one of 170k people trying to reach the same overloaded phone system, having a service that specializes in getting through makes all the difference.
Thanks everyone for the responses and numbers. It's somehow both depressing and comforting to know that 170,000 of us are in the same boat. At least now I understand why everything takes so long and why the phone system is impossible.
The whole system is designed to make you jump through hoops but once you get the hang of it it's not too bad. Just stay on top of your weekly claims and job search requirements.
Final thought - while you're waiting, make sure you're meeting all the job search requirements. Washington ESD will check that you've been actively looking for work during your adjudication period.
Hang in there! Most people going through adjudication feel exactly like you do right now. The uncertainty is the worst part but it usually works out in the end.

One last thing - if you do end up owing taxes on your unemployment, you can sometimes set up a payment plan with the IRS if you can't pay it all at once.

•Good to know there are options if I end up owing more than expected. Hopefully the withholding will take care of most of it though.

This whole thread has been super helpful! I had no idea about most of this tax stuff. Going to set up withholding on my next claim for sure.

•Same here! Really glad I asked about this now rather than finding out the hard way next tax season.
