if your claim gets stuck in adjudication like mine did, thats when you really need to be able to talk to someone at washington esd. regular calling is hopeless but that claimyr service actually works
Bottom line - file your claim today. Performance issues rarely count as disqualifying misconduct in Washington state. You paid into the system and you deserve benefits if you're eligible.
Does anyone know if the tax withholding election carries over to the next benefit year if you have to reapply? Or do you have to set it up again?
One more thing to consider - if you're receiving workers compensation for your injury, that has different rules than regular disability insurance when it comes to UI eligibility.
Bottom line - you probably can collect both if you're medically cleared for some type of work and actively seeking employment within your physical limitations. Just be transparent with Washington ESD and report everything correctly.
Sorry to hear about your layoff. The 26 weeks should give you enough time to find something good if you stay focused. The Washington job market isn't terrible right now, especially for warehouse and logistics work.
Last thing - remember to file your weekly claims every week even if you're not sure about something. Missing a week can cause delays in your payments. It's better to file and ask questions later than to skip a week.

The calculation seems fair but what really bugs me is how long it takes to get answers when you have questions. The whole system needs better customer service.

•Agreed. The benefit calculation is actually pretty reasonable but the communication and access issues are frustrating.

Thanks everyone for explaining this. I feel much more confident about my benefit amount now and know what to double-check.

•Same here! This thread was super helpful. I'm going to verify my wage records just to be sure but at least now I understand how they got to my benefit amount.
