First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Also, if your ex-husband is significantly older than you and already receiving benefits, you might want to check if his benefit amount has increased due to delayed retirement credits (he gets 8% per year for each year he delays past full retirement age until age 70). This could make the divorced spouse benefit more attractive than it appears on paper. The SSA representatives don't always volunteer this information, so you have to ask directly. Sorry for any confusion. This was an edit to update my situation. After posting, I realized I had written down the wrong time - my appointment was actually scheduled for 4:30pm, not 2:30pm!
