If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I'm going through the exact same thing - filed 4 weeks ago and still stuck on "under review" with no communication from TWC. Reading through these comments, it sounds like the key is actually getting through to an agent to find out what specific issue is holding up the claim. I'm going to try calling tomorrow morning and ask specifically about pending issues like Omar suggested. Also might look into that Claimyr service Malik mentioned since I've been getting busy signals every time I call. It's so stressful when you're running out of money and don't know why there's a delay. Thanks everyone for the helpful advice - at least now I know I'm not alone in this situation!

You're definitely not alone! I'm in week 5 now and feeling the same stress. The advice about asking specifically for "pending issues" really caught my attention too. I've been getting disconnected every time I call, so I might also try that Claimyr thing. Let me know how your call goes tomorrow - maybe we can figure this out together. It's crazy how many of us are stuck in the same situation with restaurant/business closures. Hang in there!

I feel your pain - I'm dealing with something similar right now. Been waiting 4 weeks and also down to my last couple hundred dollars. After reading all these responses, it sounds like the most important thing is actually getting through to talk to someone who can tell you what's specifically holding up your claim. The former TWC employee's advice about calling between 1-3pm makes sense, and I'm definitely going to try that Claimyr service if I keep getting busy signals. It's frustrating that we have to jump through so many hoops when we're already stressed about money, but at least there are some concrete steps we can take. Keep us posted on how it goes - rooting for you!

Thanks for the support! It really helps to know others are going through this too. I'm definitely going to try calling between 1-3pm like Malik suggested - that's such a specific tip that it sounds like it could actually work. The idea of asking about "pending issues" specifically seems like the right approach rather than just asking for a status update. I'm also encouraged by Emma's story about needing income verification that was never requested - makes me wonder if there's something simple holding mine up too. Will definitely update everyone once I hopefully get through to someone. We've got this!

This has been such an incredibly helpful thread! As someone who's currently going through the initial claim process, I'm bookmarking this for when I (hopefully) get approved. The consistency in everyone's experiences is really reassuring - it seems like 4-6 business days is the standard for most Texas cities once the payment shows as processed. The tip about USPS Informed Delivery is genius - just signed up and it's already showing me previews of tomorrow's mail. And I'm definitely going to make sure my direct deposit info is set up correctly from the start based on all the stress everyone went through with checks. One thing I'm curious about - for those who switched to direct deposit mid-claim, did you notice any difference in processing times for the actual payment requests (not just delivery), or is that timing pretty much the same regardless of whether you get checks or direct deposit? Also want to echo what others have said about the early morning calling tip - tried it yesterday for a different issue and got through in about 12 minutes versus the 2+ hours I spent trying in the afternoon the day before. Game changer!

Great question about processing times! From my experience, the actual payment request processing (when it changes from "submitted" to "processed" on the TWC website) takes the same amount of time regardless of whether you have checks or direct deposit set up - usually 1-3 business days after you submit your biweekly request. The difference is purely in the delivery method once it's processed. With direct deposit, the money hits your account within 1-2 business days of showing "processed," while checks take that 4-6 day mail delivery window we've all been discussing. So switching to direct deposit doesn't speed up the initial processing, just eliminates the mail wait time. You're smart to get everything set up correctly from the start - saves so much stress!

This thread has been absolutely invaluable! I'm in a very similar situation - just got approved after a 6-week wait and noticed my payment method defaulted to checks even though I thought I selected direct deposit during the application process. Reading everyone's experiences has really helped calm my nerves about the timing. I'm in the Houston area, so based on what @Javier Torres and others have shared, I should expect around 4-5 business days once my payment processes. Already signed up for USPS Informed Delivery based on all the recommendations here - what a great tip! One quick question for those who switched to direct deposit mid-claim: when you log into your TWC account to change the payment method, is it pretty straightforward to find that option? I want to make sure I update it correctly so future payments don't go through this mail anxiety again. Thanks everyone for sharing such detailed timelines and tips - this is exactly the kind of real-world information you need when you're stressed about rent money! 🙏

Just wanted to jump in and say how grateful I am for this entire thread! I'm relatively new to filing unemployment claims and today was absolutely terrifying. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong when the website wouldn't load. Finding this community and seeing that it wasn't just me made such a huge difference in my stress level. I ended up getting through around 11:30 PM after following the advice here about trying during off-peak hours. The Discord/group chat idea sounds amazing - I'd definitely join! It would be so helpful to have real-time updates during these outages instead of each of us sitting alone wondering if we're the only ones having problems. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences, tips, and especially those who kept posting updates throughout the day. This community is a lifeline during situations like this!

Welcome to the community, Effie! I'm glad you found this thread too and were able to get through last night. Your experience really highlights how isolating these technical issues can be when you're new to the system - I remember feeling the exact same way during my first few months of filing. It's scary not knowing if you're doing something wrong or if it's a widespread problem. That's exactly why I think the Discord idea would be so valuable! Having a place where newcomers can quickly get reassurance and guidance during these stressful situations would make such a difference. I'm definitely committed to helping set something up if there's enough interest. In the meantime, don't hesitate to ask questions here - this community has been incredibly supportive and knowledgeable!

I'm so thankful I stumbled across this thread today! I was having the exact same issues since early morning - kept getting those "System temporarily unavailable" errors and thought maybe I was locked out of my account somehow. The panic was real when I realized today was my filing day! I tried every browser I could think of and even reset my router thinking it was my internet connection. Reading everyone's experiences here was such a relief - knowing it wasn't just me made all the difference. I finally got through around 11:15 PM after seeing Mia's update that the system was back up. Definitely going to bookmark all these backup resources people shared (especially that Claimyr service and the Tele-Serv number) for future reference. Count me in for that Discord server idea too - having real-time community support during these outages would be a game changer! Thanks to everyone who kept updating throughout the day and sharing your solutions. This community is incredible!

I'm so glad you found this thread too, Aurora! Your experience sounds exactly like what so many of us went through today - that panic when you think it might be your fault or your internet connection is really something else. I did the same thing with trying different browsers and even restarting my modem! It's amazing how this community came together to support each other through what was honestly a pretty stressful day. I'm definitely on board with the Discord idea too - it would be such a relief to have a place where we can quickly check "is it just me or is everyone having this problem?" instead of spending hours troubleshooting on our own. Looking forward to hopefully having that resource set up soon!

Welcome to the TWC community! I've been collecting benefits for about a year now and can definitely relate to that first payment anxiety. Based on your timeline (requesting Sunday evening), you should see your deposit by Wednesday or Thursday - that's been pretty consistent in my experience. A couple of things that might help while you wait: - The TWC website has a "Payment and Tax Information" section where you can track your payment status - it usually updates before your bank shows the deposit - If you haven't already, set up text/email alerts with your bank for any deposits. It'll save you from constantly checking your balance! - First payments sometimes take an extra day for verification, so don't panic if it hits on Thursday instead of Wednesday The lady on the phone was right that deposits don't all go out on the same day - it's based on when you request payment. Once you get a few payments and figure out your bank's processing time, you'll be able to predict almost exactly when your money will hit each week. Hang in there - the waiting gets easier once you know what to expect!

I've been receiving TWC payments for about 4 months now and can definitely confirm the 2-3 business day timeline everyone's mentioning. Since you requested on Sunday evening, you should see your deposit by Wednesday or Thursday - that's been super consistent for me. A few things that helped me when I was starting out: - Download your bank's app and turn on push notifications for deposits (saves you from checking constantly!) - The TWC "Payment Status" page online updates faster than your bank account, so check there if you're getting anxious - First payments can take an extra day or two - mine took 4 days but every one since has been right on schedule I'm with Chase and typically see my money hit Wednesday afternoon when I request Sunday at 7pm. The key is being patient with that first one - it's nerve-wracking but the system works! Once you get a couple payments under your belt, you'll know exactly when to expect your money each week. Good luck with your first payment - you should see it soon!

Just wanted to follow up - how did your call with TWC go? Were you able to get through and explain the separation issue?

0 coins

I used that Claimyr service and got through after waiting about a half hour. The TWC agent was actually really helpful. She said this happens all the time where employers try to avoid unemployment claims by misreporting separations. She made notes on my account and said they're expediting a review of my documentation. She thought I should hear something within a week, and if approved, payment would come 2-3 days after that. Fingers crossed! Thanks for all the help everyone.

That's great news that you got through and the agent was helpful! I'm glad you were able to get your side of the story documented. Mass layoffs like yours should be pretty straightforward to verify - TWC can usually see patterns when multiple people from the same company file claims around the same time. Hopefully they'll approve it quickly and you'll get all your back pay too. Keep us updated on how it goes!

That's such a relief that you got through to someone! I'm dealing with a similar situation - my employer is claiming I was fired for cause when I was actually laid off due to budget cuts. Reading your story gives me hope that TWC will actually listen to our side. Did the agent mention anything about how they verify mass layoffs? I'm worried my company might try to lie about the circumstances since there were only 8 of us let go, not 50 like in your case.
