If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

As someone who's been dealing with PA UC for over a year now, I can confirm that yes, Labor Day will push your payment back to Wednesday. What I've learned to do is set up a calendar reminder for myself at the beginning of each year with all the federal holidays marked, and I automatically assume any payment that would normally hit on the day after a holiday will be delayed. It's saved me so much stress! Also, if you're really tight on cash this week, some banks will let you overdraw for essential purchases (like groceries) with just a small fee rather than declining the transaction entirely - might be worth calling your bank to ask about their overdraft policies just in case.

This is such good advice! Setting up a yearly calendar with all the federal holidays is brilliant - I'm definitely doing that tonight. I never thought about calling my bank about their overdraft policies either, that's really smart. It's so helpful to hear from someone who's been navigating this system for a while. Do you happen to know if there are any other common issues or timing quirks with PA UC that newbies like me should be aware of? This whole thread has been way more informative than anything I've found on the official website!

Thanks everyone for all the detailed info! I'm relatively new to PA UC (started in June) and had no idea about the holiday delay pattern. I was getting worried this morning when my payment wasn't showing up like usual. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and tips - especially the calendar reminder idea and the FAQ page location. It's frustrating that UC doesn't make these delays more obvious, but at least this community helps fill in the gaps! Definitely rescheduling my bills and setting up that holiday calendar tonight.

Welcome to the PA UC world! It's definitely a learning curve and this community has been such a lifesaver for figuring out all the quirks the official sites don't tell you about. One more tip - if you ever need to call UC for any reason, try calling right when they open (usually 8am) or during lunch hours. The wait times are usually shorter then. And definitely keep an eye on this community for other helpful threads about filing issues, eligibility questions, and other timing stuff that comes up. Good luck with everything!

I'm scheduled for my PA UC phone appeal next week and this entire thread has been a lifesaver! Based on everyone's experiences, I'm planning to upload my documents to the portal at least 5 days early, take screenshots of the confirmation, AND email the appeals office as backup. @Marilyn Dixon thank you for those specific steps - having an advocate's perspective really helps. One question for those who've been through this: did any of you have issues with the phone connection during your hearing? I'm worried about technical problems cutting me off mid-explanation. Should I have a backup phone number ready or use a landline instead of my cell?

0 coins

@Nia Davis Great question about the phone connection! I had my hearing a few months ago and actually did have a brief connection issue about halfway through. The referee was really understanding and just called me right back within a minute. I d'definitely recommend using a landline if you have access to one, or at least make sure you re'in an area with strong cell service. Also have the appeals office phone number handy just in case you need to call back. One thing that helped me was testing my phone s'speaker quality beforehand - you want to make sure you can hear clearly and that your voice comes through well. The referees are used to technical hiccups with phone hearings, so don t'stress too much about it, but having a backup plan definitely gives peace of mind!

I had my PA UC phone appeal about 6 months ago and went through the same confusion! Here's what worked for me: I uploaded all my documents through the portal 5 days before the hearing, then called the appeals office the next day to confirm they received them. It took about 20 tries to get through (typical PA UC phone system), but the representative was able to confirm my documents were in the system and attached to my case. During the actual hearing, the referee had clearly reviewed everything beforehand and referenced my evidence by page number. My biggest tip is to organize your documents with clear labels and page numbers before uploading - it makes the hearing flow much smoother when the referee says "looking at your document labeled 'Layoff Notice Email.'" The whole process was less intimidating than I expected, and having that confirmation call really put my mind at ease. You'll do great!

@Andrew Pinnock That s'exactly the kind of confirmation I was hoping to get! Twenty tries to reach someone sounds about right for PA UC unfortunately, but it s'so worth it for that peace of mind. I really like your tip about labeling documents clearly - I was just planning to number them, but having descriptive labels like Layoff "Notice Email makes" so much more sense for the referee to reference during the hearing. Quick question - when you called to confirm, did they just verify the documents were received, or were they able to tell you if the referee had actually reviewed them yet? I m'wondering if there s'a way to know ahead of time that everything is properly prepared on their end.

I'm new to PA unemployment and this thread has been incredibly helpful! Quick question though - do the CareerLink activities have to be completed during normal business hours? I work part-time (which is why I'm getting partial benefits) and most of my availability is evenings and weekends. Are there virtual workshops or activities available outside of typical 9-5 hours? I'm worried about scheduling conflicts with my current job.

0 coins

Great question! Yes, they do offer workshops and activities outside of business hours. I've seen virtual workshops scheduled in the evenings (usually 6-8 PM) and some on Saturday mornings. When you log into your CareerLink account and look at the workshop calendar, you can filter by time/day to find options that work with your schedule. The online assessments and resume activities can be done 24/7 since they're self-paced. Just make sure whatever you choose is officially through the CareerLink system so it gets properly documented for your weekly certification!

I've been on unemployment for about 6 months now and wanted to share what I've learned about CareerLink activities. The key thing is DOCUMENTATION - keep screenshots of everything! I create a weekly folder on my computer with proof of each activity. A few additional activities that count that I didn't see mentioned: - Career Interest Profiler assessment (takes about 20 mins) - Work Values Inventory (another assessment option) - Attending virtual job clubs through CareerLink - One-on-one virtual meetings with career advisors Pro tip: If you're struggling to find time for workshops, the assessments are great because you can pause and come back to them later. I usually do one assessment every few weeks when I need a CareerLink activity but don't have time for a full workshop. Just make sure you complete it fully - partial assessments don't count. Also, bookmark the CareerLink calendar page because they're constantly adding new workshops. I check it every Sunday to plan my activity for the upcoming week.

This is super helpful, thank you! I love the idea of creating weekly folders for documentation - that's so organized. I'm definitely going to try those assessments you mentioned since they seem more flexible with timing. Quick question: when you do the one-on-one virtual meetings with career advisors, do you need to schedule those in advance or can you sometimes get same-day appointments? I'm trying to plan out my activities for the next few weeks.

I'm in week 8 of waiting for my Board decision after winning my referee hearing for a misconduct case. My employer claimed I violated attendance policies but couldn't produce any actual attendance records or written warnings during the hearing. The referee ruled clearly in my favor, but this waiting period has been absolute torture! I've been doing the obsessive dashboard checking too - started at maybe 2-3 times a day but it's gotten up to 10+ times daily and I know it's making my anxiety so much worse. Reading everyone's experiences here is both a relief (knowing I'm not alone) and terrifying (seeing wait times up to 14 weeks!). Based on all the advice here, I'm going to force myself to do the once-daily dashboard check starting tomorrow and I've already started setting aside 25% of each UC payment into a separate savings account. The volunteering suggestion is brilliant too - I'm going to look into local opportunities this week to keep my mind occupied. It's incredibly frustrating that we have to endure all this additional stress and uncertainty after already proving our cases once. The system really needs reform - employers should face consequences for frivolous appeals that put claimants through this nightmare. But this community support has been a lifesaver during such an isolating and stressful time. Fingers crossed we all get favorable decisions soon! 🤞

I'm in week 6 of waiting for my Board decision after winning my referee hearing for a misconduct case. My employer claimed I was "unreliable" but had zero documentation - no write-ups, no attendance records, nothing! The referee saw through it immediately, but now I'm living this same nightmare you all are describing. The obsessive dashboard checking is so real - I'm probably at 8-10 times a day and I can feel it making my anxiety worse. Your 25% savings plan is really smart - I've been putting aside about 20% of each payment but maybe I should bump it up. The 8 week wait must be excruciating! Based on what others have shared here, you should hopefully hear something soon since the average seems to be around 9 weeks. This community has been such a lifeline for my sanity. It's maddening that we have to go through all this stress after already proving our cases once, but knowing we're all supporting each other through it helps so much. Sending positive thoughts your way - really hoping you get good news very soon! 🤞

I'm currently in week 5 of waiting for my Board decision after winning my referee hearing for a misconduct case. My employer claimed I was frequently absent without proper notice, but during the hearing they couldn't provide any attendance records, documentation of conversations with me about attendance, or written warnings. The referee ruled in my favor pretty quickly since their case was so weak, but now I'm dealing with all the same anxiety everyone here is describing. I've been checking my dashboard obsessively - probably 6-7 times a day which I know is just making things worse. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful though. It's both reassuring to see that most people who won at the referee level kept their wins, and terrifying to see wait times ranging from 4-14 weeks! I'm definitely going to implement the once-daily dashboard check rule starting tomorrow, and I love the idea about setting aside part of each payment. I've been spending everything as it comes in but having a safety net would probably help with the anxiety. The volunteering suggestion sounds great too for keeping busy and maintaining perspective. It's so frustrating that we have to endure all this additional stress and uncertainty after already proving our cases once. But this community support means everything during such an isolating time. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and coping strategies - knowing I'm not alone in this process helps more than you know! Fingers crossed we all get favorable decisions soon! 🤞

@Jean Ballard I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now! After reading through all the helpful advice in this thread, I'm planning to set my alarm for 7:58am tomorrow and call 888-313-7284 right at 8:00am sharp. So many people here have had success with this timing - @Zoe Stavros, @NebulaKnight, @Giovanni Conti, and @Gabriel Ruiz all got through in 10-20 minutes using this method instead of dealing with the broken automated system. I've been trying the online portal for days and keep getting those frustrating timeout errors. Make sure to have your SSN and confirmation number ready before calling since the agents work quickly once you connect. If the morning call doesn't work out, I'm also going to try the late night online filing (10-11pm) that @Rhett Bowman mentioned. The whole PA UC system is clearly having major issues right now, but at least we know there are ways to get through! Don't give up - we've got this!

0 coins

@Jean Ballard I'm so sorry you're going through this too! I literally just created an account here because I've been having the exact same problem for the past 4 days. The online system keeps giving me "system error" messages right when I try to submit, and I've called the automated line probably 20 times only to get disconnected every single time. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been such a relief - at least I know it's not just me! I'm definitely going to try the 8:00am sharp calling strategy with 888-313-7284 tomorrow morning based on all the success stories. It's crazy that we have to go through all this just to file a simple weekly claim, but I'm so grateful for this community sharing what actually works. Hang in there - sounds like persistence really does pay off with this mess of a system!
