Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. my cousin works at a place that closed and they all got denied cause the employer said they were fired not laid off even tho the whole place shut down!!! make SURE they put the right reason for separation or you'll have to appeal

This is an important point. When you file, make sure your separation reason is correctly listed as "Lack of Work" or "Layoff" rather than termination. If your employer contests this or provides incorrect information, you may need to appeal, which can delay benefits. The good news is that with a documented WARN Act closure, it's fairly straightforward to prove it was a layoff if you need to appeal.

Pennsylvania actually eliminated the waiting week requirement permanently after the pandemic. There's no longer a waiting week in PA - you can receive benefits for your first week of unemployment if you're eligible. This change was made permanent in state law.

Typical PA unemployment... system always breaks right when people need it most! I've been dealing with these glitches since January and EVERY SINGLE TIME something goes wrong with my claim. Anyone notice how these "outages" always happen right when payment processing would normally occur? Pretty convenient for them to hold onto our money an extra day or two if you ask me. 🙄

While frustrating, these outages are typically due to system maintenance or technical issues rather than deliberate delays. Payment processing actually runs on a different system than the public-facing portal. If you're experiencing recurring problems with your claim, I'd recommend requesting a callback through your dashboard or asking for a claim review. The timing of maintenance is usually planned to minimize disruption to the majority of claimants.

I just remembered this happened to me back in December too. I panicked and tried logging in like 50 times which was dumb because then my account got flagged for suspicious activity lol. Had to reset my whole PIN and everything. So word of advice don't spam the login button like I did!!

That's why I finally tried that Claimyr service. I was skeptical but desperate after weeks of trying. Finally getting through to someone was worth it because they fixed my issue in literally 5 minutes once I explained what was happening.

When your payments do resume, they should include all the back weeks at once. Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even while payments are delayed - if you stop filing, you'll have to reopen your claim which creates even more delays. Also, double-check that your payment method hasn't changed in the system. Sometimes the system randomly switches from direct deposit back to debit card or vice versa.

The SAME THING happened to my neighbor and it turned out there was an identity verification issue that wasn't showing up on the dashboard. Check your husband's email spam folder for messages from ID.me or a PA UC identity verification request. Sometimes they send these and if you don't complete them within like 7 days, they just keep denying you without clearly explaining why. Good luck!

Just checked all his email folders and there's nothing from ID.me! But maybe it was sent and deleted? I'll have him log into the ID.me website directly to see if there's a pending verification. Thank you for this tip!

Update on my earlier comment - if you're having trouble with the appeal or getting through on the phone, contact your state representative's office. They have dedicated staff who can intervene with the UC office on your behalf. I've seen many stuck claims suddenly get resolved once a state rep's office gets involved. Just search for "PA state representative [your zip code]" to find yours.

They sent me a letter with the interview date/time about 2 weeks after my claim got flagged. The whole thing took about 5-6 weeks to resolve completely. And yes, I still had to call in to do the interview - they don't call you, you have to call them at the scheduled time using a special number they give you in the letter.

Actually, that's not quite right. PA UC handles these two ways depending on the issue. For some investigations they send you a letter with a call-in number and PIN for a scheduled time. For others, an examiner will call YOU at the number on file. Make sure your phone number is updated in the system and that you answer calls from unknown numbers during this period. If you miss their call, it can significantly delay your case resolution.

UPDATE: I finally got through to PA UC today! Used the Claimyr service someone mentioned and it worked great. The agent was actually really understanding. She said this happens a lot and is considered a "non-willful" error since I genuinely didn't know I had to report unpaid work. They're sending me a questionnaire about the 2-day position that I need to fill out and return. My benefits are on hold until that's processed, but she said as long as I get it back quickly, I should only have a small overpayment for those 2 days I worked (about $82) that I'll need to pay back. Thank you everyone for the help and for calming me down! I was seriously panicking thinking I'd lose everything or get charged with fraud over an honest mistake.
