Quick update on the IDme situation - if your son gets through the verification process, make sure he also goes back to his PA UC dashboard and clicks the "Allow" button to connect IDme to his unemployment account. A lot of people miss this step and then wonder why their account is still locked even after successful verification. Also, after verification is complete, there can be a 24-48 hour delay before the system updates and allows weekly filing again.
I didn't know about the "Allow" button! Thank you for mentioning that. After trying all morning, we finally got through to someone using that Claimyr service you recommended. They confirmed everything you said about the rolling verification schedule and placed a 7-day hold on his account so he can file this week's claim while we sort out the IDme issues. Such a relief!
This might sound random but check if your son's driver's license or ID is expired. My hubby had this EXACT same problem and it turned out his license had expired the month before and IDme wouldn't verify him until he renewed it and uploaded the new one.
Just a follow-up about legislative claims since there's some confusion in this thread - they DO move faster, but they don't change the eligibility rules. I got my determination in 8 days after my rep flagged my claim. Also, if you're sending in medical documentation, call your state rep's office again and let them know you've submitted everything so they can flag your file again. Sometimes files get "unstuck" but then sit in another queue unless the rep keeps checking on it.
Quick update on my earlier comment - regarding the text messages with your supervisor, YES these can absolutely count as evidence. Print them out, organize them by date, and highlight the parts where you requested accommodation and were denied. Note that if your case goes to a referee hearing (appeal), these would be admissible evidence. Also, if any coworkers witnessed your conversations about accommodation, get their statements in writing if possible. The more documentation you have, the stronger your case will be for showing you had necessitous and compelling reason to leave that job.
btw did u set up direct deposit when u filled out your initial claim? sometimes people miss that part and then they automatically send u a debit card which takes way longer
my buddy just went thru this whole process and his first payment showed up wednesday but got approved on a friday so maybe its always like 3 business days?
btw make sure u answer NO to the question about if u were able 2 work and available 4 work if u were sick or on vacation during any days. my friend messed that up and got in trouble later
Glad you got it sorted out! One last tip: set a reminder on your phone for your bi-weekly filing. The PA UC system follows a Sunday-Saturday calendar, and you file for two weeks at a time. Your filing day depends on the last digit of your Social Security Number. Missing filing windows can create even more headaches.
This! I missed my filing window once and it was such a pain. Also, when you're answering those weekly questions, make sure you understand what they're asking. Sometimes the wording is confusing - like they ask "Did you refuse any work?" and if you DID refuse work, you answer YES, not NO. Sounds obvious but easy to get backwards when rushing through.

I experienced something similar last year and discovered it was because I'd accidentally entered my previous employer's information incorrectly. The mistake caused an automatic flag in the system that required manual review. It might be worth checking if there could be any mistakes in your application that triggered the unresolved issue. Sometimes even small discrepancies between what you reported and what your employer reported can cause these issues.

This system is absolutely rigged against people . I scheduled an appointment to go to career link to meet with a uc rep. They have had listed open issue for two months. I was told at office the person handling my claim may be on a leave of absence and if so they don’t assign to anyone else. I was also told they are an insurance company and are not in the business to pay people. So my claim may be held up because the rep is trying anything they can to screw me out of my benefits. I will be heading to my state reps office next week. The state needs to step up and put a stop to this garbage.
