If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

So glad to see your update! I'm actually dealing with something similar right now - missed my RESEA appointment two weeks ago and have been stressing about it. Your timeline is really helpful to know. Did you have to do anything special when you called to reschedule, or did they just put you on the next available date? I've been worried they might give me a hard time about it since I don't really have a good excuse for missing it.

Hey Samantha! I was in your exact situation - no real excuse, just completely spaced on the appointment. When I called to reschedule, I was honest about it and they were actually pretty understanding. They didn't give me a hard time at all, just asked for my SSN and claimant ID and put me on the next available date (which was about 10 days out). I think they're used to people missing these appointments honestly. The key is just calling as soon as possible and being straightforward about what happened. Don't stress too much about not having a "good" excuse - they just want to get you rescheduled and back in compliance.

I'm going through this nightmare right now too! Missed my RESEA appointment last week and have been panicking ever since. Reading through all these responses is actually giving me some hope though. The fact that Gabriel got all his back pay after 9 days is reassuring. I tried calling CareerLink yesterday but kept getting transferred around. Going to try the early morning approach tomorrow and just keep calling until someone picks up. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - this community is a lifesaver when you're dealing with PA UC bureaucracy!

Giovanni, you're definitely not alone in this! I just went through the exact same thing a few months ago. The early morning call strategy really does work - I had the most luck calling right at 8 AM when they opened. Also, if you're having trouble getting through to your local CareerLink, try calling a different location in your area first thing in the morning - sometimes they can help you or at least give you better guidance on when to call your specific office. The waiting is brutal but everyone here is right that you'll get your back pay once it's all sorted out. Hang in there!

My hearing was scheduled for 9am but didn't start till like 10:15 because they were behind. Then the actual hearing took about 45 minutes. But yeah I'd plan for the whole morning at least!!

Just wanted to add that you should also check if any of your former coworkers who were laid off with you are also dealing with appeals. If multiple people from the same layoff are being challenged, that actually strengthens everyone's case since it shows a pattern of the employer trying to avoid UC tax increases rather than legitimate misconduct issues. Also, keep detailed records of every communication you have with UC during this process - dates, times, who you spoke with, reference numbers. If anything goes wrong with your payments, you'll want that paper trail. The appeals process can be nerve-wracking but with your layoff documentation you're in much better shape than most people facing these challenges.

That's a really good point about checking with other coworkers who were laid off! I actually know at least 3 other people from my department who were let go the same day as me. I should reach out to see if they're dealing with appeals too. If the company is trying to challenge multiple claims from the same layoff event, that definitely seems like they're just trying to avoid paying higher UC taxes rather than having legitimate misconduct concerns. Thanks for that insight - I wouldn't have thought to coordinate with the others!

Congratulations on finally getting approved, Jeff! That's a huge relief after 7 weeks of waiting. For Huntington Bank, deposits typically hit between 12:01 AM and 3:00 AM on the day they're processed, but it can sometimes take until later in the morning (around 6-9 AM). Since it was processed early Monday morning, there's a good chance you'll see it today. You can also check your UC dashboard to see if the payment status has updated to "paid" which usually means it's on its way to your account. Keep us posted on when it comes through - and great job keeping all those emails as documentation!

This is really helpful information about Huntington Bank deposit timing! I'm new to this whole unemployment process and was wondering - do all banks have similar timing for these deposits, or does it vary significantly between different banks? Also, Jeff, I'm sorry you had to deal with a dishonest employer making an already stressful situation worse. It's smart that you documented everything. Hope your payment comes through today so you can get caught up on those bills!

That's exactly what I need! Thank you again. This whole system is so frustrating but at least there's a way to actually talk to someone who can help.

I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now! Been waiting 8 days for a response about my benefit calculation and getting really worried about making rent. The automated response said 48 hours but clearly that's not happening. Reading through these comments, it sounds like calling is the only real option even though it's nearly impossible to get through. Has anyone found specific times of day that work better for calling? I've tried mornings and afternoons with no luck. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - at least I know I'm not alone in this mess.

You're definitely not alone! I've been lurking in this community for a while and just created an account because I'm going through the exact same thing. Been waiting 10 days now for a response about my benefit amount being calculated wrong. From what I've read here, the email system is completely backed up from their January system update. I tried calling yesterday around 8:30 AM right when they opened and still got disconnected after waiting in the automated menu. Going to try that Claimyr service that a few people mentioned since it seems like that's the only way to actually reach a human being. This whole situation is so stressful when you're counting on that money for basic expenses. Hope we both get answers soon!

Just wanted to chime in with some additional support - I work as a paralegal and have seen quite a few unemployment appeals, and your case has several strong legal elements. The fact that you were originally hired for remote work and then had the conditions changed during a personal crisis really strengthens your position under PA law. One document you might want to bring if you have it: any kind of written confirmation of your original remote work arrangement (offer letter, employee handbook excerpt, email confirming remote status, etc.). This helps establish that in-person work wasn't part of your original job requirements. Also, don't underestimate the power of being genuine and straightforward during your hearing. Referees can usually tell the difference between someone gaming the system and someone who genuinely had no choice. Your situation - losing housing, ending up in a shelter 70 miles away, company refusing accommodation - reads as a perfect storm of circumstances that would make continuing employment impossible for any reasonable person. You've gotten fantastic advice here from this community. Trust in your preparation and remember that you're not asking for something you don't deserve - you're asking for benefits you paid into when you were working. Best of luck on Friday!

This is such valuable insight from a legal perspective! I do have my original offer letter that specifically mentions "remote work arrangement" and I'll definitely bring that. It's reassuring to hear from someone with professional experience that my situation has strong legal elements. You're absolutely right that this was a perfect storm - I certainly didn't choose to become homeless or have my employer change their policy at the worst possible time. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise and encouragement. Having all this community support makes me feel like I'm walking into Friday's hearing with a real chance instead of just hoping for the best. Thank you!

I've been lurking in this community for a while dealing with my own UC issues, and I just wanted to say your case sounds really compelling! Reading through all the great advice here, it's clear you've got strong documentation and a legitimate hardship situation. One small thing I'd add - if you have any screenshots or photos of the shelter conditions/location that show how remote it was from your workplace, those visual aids can sometimes help referees understand the impossibility of your situation better than just describing it. Even a simple Google Maps screenshot showing the 70-mile distance could be useful. Also, I've heard that staying calm and speaking slowly during the hearing really helps. Referees deal with a lot of emotional cases, so presenting your facts clearly and professionally can make you stand out as credible. You've gotten such thorough preparation advice from everyone here - I really think you've got a solid shot at winning this! The fact that you were hired remote originally and then had conditions changed during a housing crisis is exactly the kind of situation UC benefits are meant to cover. Rooting for you on Friday!
