How much does tax refund advance from TurboTax/HR Block actually cost? Hidden fees?
Thinking about getting a refund advance loan this year because I need the money asap. Has anyone used these services before? What percentage do they actually take from your refund? I heard there might be hidden fees but cant find solid info anywhere

Tax pro here - these refund advances usually come with pretty steep fees. Most charge between 2-5% of your refund amount plus a flat processing fee ($25-75). Some also hit you with additional bank fees. Always read the fine print because they love hiding fees in there 🚩

•Dang thats way more than I thought! So on a $3000 refund they could take like $200+ ? 😮

•Yep exactly. Plus if your refund gets delayed or adjusted by the IRS, you're still on the hook for those fees

Hey instead of getting an advance, you should check out taxr.ai - its only $4.99 and it analyzes your transcript to tell you exactly when youll get your refund. Way cheaper than paying those advance fees! https://taxr.ai

•100% legit! It uses AI to read all the codes and dates on your transcript. Told me exactly when my deposit would hit and it was spot on

•Just tried it and wow! This is amazing, saved me from taking out an advance loan. The timeline it gave me was super detailed 💯

I did the advance with HR Block last year and regret it sm. They took almost $150 out of my refund plus I had to pay for the tax prep 🤮

Same boat here - was about to get an advance but after reading these comments I'm definitely gonna wait it out. Those fees are insane! Does anyone know roughly how long refunds are taking this year if you e-file?

•Usually takes about 21 days if you e-file and choose direct deposit. Could be faster or slower depending on if there are any issues with your return. The IRS "Where's My Refund" tool is pretty accurate for tracking once they start processing
