The IRS systems are completely broken rn. Their collections department operates independently from returns processing. You gotta be proactive - call them, get TAS involved, whatever it takes to protect yourself while they sort out their mess.
Bruh the IRS system is straight π€‘ Why they gotta make us wait so long when they know we need the $$$
Have you tried calling? Sometimes they can give more info

Bruh moment when ur tax preparer starts talking about 'sauce' π€‘ Like we're at a bbq or somethin

Pro tip: Keep checking your transcript every Tuesday and Friday morning. Thats when they usually update the system

Unfortunately with prior year returns your basically gonna have to wait it out. The IRS is so backed up its not even funny. My 2020 return took 14 months to process no joke

Check your mail carefully! Sometimes they send letters requesting more info but the WMR/transcript won't show it. Had this happen to me and almost missed it bc it looked like junk mail ngl
