If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

If you can't get to a Bank of America branch, you might try calling their customer service line and asking if they can your identity over the phone or through their mobile app. Some people have also had success using other forms of ID like a passport, utility bills, or social security card along with your driver's license. You could also check if there are any other banks or credit unions nearby that might be able to help with ID verification for your EDD card. Another option is to contact EDD directly to see if they have alternative verification methods available.

This is really helpful advice! I'm in a similar situation and was wondering - has anyone actually tried the mobile app verification method? I'm curious if Bank of America's app can handle the ID verification process or if they still require you to go in person. Also, does anyone know if EDD accepts other forms of identification besides the standard driver's license + one other form of ID combo?

I had a similar issue and found a few workarounds that helped me. First, try calling Bank of America's customer service at 1-866-692-9374 and explain your situation - sometimes they can do identity verification over the phone if you have enough personal information available. Second, if you have a local credit union, many of them can help with basic banking services even if you're not a member. Third, some people have had success going to a notary public (often available at UPS stores or libraries) to get documents notarized as proof of identity, which Bank of America may accept. Lastly, if you're still stuck, contact EDD directly and ask if they can issue a paper check instead of using the debit card - it's slower but might be easier than dealing with ID verification issues. Hope this helps!

Thanks Paloma, this is super helpful! I'm actually dealing with this exact situation right now. Quick question - when you called that Bank of America number, did they actually unlock your card over the phone or did they still make you come in? I've been hesitant to call because I've heard mixed stories about whether they can really everything remotely. Also, has anyone here actually tried the notary route? I'm wondering if that's a legitimate workaround or if Bank of America might still reject it. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - it's so frustrating when you need your benefits but can't access them because of these ID requirements!

So glad you got it figured out! This is actually a really common issue that trips up a lot of people - the old account thing catches everyone off guard. Your post and the solutions people shared here are going to help so many others who run into the same problem. Thanks for coming back to update us with what worked!

Totally agree! I just joined this community and was actually having the exact same EDDCAN registration issue. Reading through this whole thread saved me probably days of frustration - I went straight to account recovery and found my old account from 2019 that I had completely forgotten about. It's crazy how many people probably get stuck on this same problem. Thanks to everyone who shared their knowledge here!

This thread is gold! I'm bookmarking this for future reference. It's so frustrating how EDD doesn't make it clearer that you might already have an account from years ago - they should really add a note about checking account recovery first before trying to register as new. The fact that so many people are running into this exact same issue shows there's definitely a communication gap on their end. Glad to see this community helping each other navigate these bureaucratic nightmares!

Exactly! I'm new here too and this whole thread has been incredibly helpful. It's frustrating that EDD doesn't have better guidance on their registration page about checking for existing accounts first - seems like such an easy fix that would prevent so much confusion. The fact that people are missing certification deadlines because of this registration issue is really concerning. Maybe we should compile these solutions into a pinned post or FAQ for other newcomers? This community seems way more helpful than EDD's actual support system!

I'm currently dealing with this exact same situation and this thread has been such a lifesaver! Just switched from Money Network to my credit union account last Monday, certified on Wednesday, shows 'paid' since Thursday but still no deposit as of today (Sunday). I was literally convinced I had somehow messed up my routing number or account number and was losing sleep over it. It's absolutely insane that EDD doesn't provide ANY warning about this delay when you switch payment methods - like seriously, one simple notification saying "Your first direct deposit may take 5-7 additional business days for verification" would prevent so much panic! Reading everyone's consistent experiences of 4-8 business days for that first deposit has made me feel so much better. I'm on day 4 now so hopefully it shows up by midweek. What really helped was calling my credit union yesterday and they confirmed no pending ACH deposits, which at least tells me the delay is 100% on EDD's end and not some issue with my account. Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines and especially those who came back with updates - this community is honestly more helpful than any official EDD resource! Can't wait to join the club of people getting faster deposits once this initial verification nightmare is finally over.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Just switched from Money Network to my Bank of America account last week and I'm on day 5 with no deposit yet. This thread has seriously saved my sanity - I was up all night thinking I'd somehow entered the wrong account number or something. It's crazy how many of us are dealing with this same stress! Your tip about calling your credit union to confirm no pending deposits is really smart - at least that way you know for sure it's EDD's ancient system causing the delay and not an account problem. I'm definitely going to try that tomorrow. It's honestly ridiculous that they don't warn people about this delay when you switch payment methods. Like you said, literally just one sentence would prevent so much unnecessary panic! Fingers crossed both our deposits show up this week - we're definitely in the normal timeframe based on everyone else's experiences here.

I'm currently going through this exact same situation and honestly, this thread has been a godsend! Just made the switch from Money Network to my Chase account last Tuesday, certified on Thursday, shows 'paid' status since Friday but it's now Monday and still nothing. I was literally refreshing my Chase app every 30 minutes yesterday convinced I had fat-fingered my account number or something. Reading through everyone's experiences here has made me realize this delay is completely normal and expected - wish I had found this thread sooner to save myself the weekend of panic! It's honestly criminal that EDD doesn't put any kind of warning about this delay when you switch payment methods. Like seriously, just a simple "Note: Your first direct deposit may take 5-7 additional business days for account verification" would prevent so much unnecessary stress. I'm on day 4 now so based on everyone's timelines I'm hoping to see it by Wednesday or Thursday. The consistency of everyone reporting similar delays across different banks is actually really reassuring. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and especially those who came back with updates - this community provides way better information than anything EDD offers officially. Can't wait to finally get that first deposit and join the ranks of people who get their money faster than Money Network ever delivered!

I experienced this exact same problem and it was driving me crazy! After missing 3 callbacks, I discovered that my 's "Do Not Disturb" settings were automatically enabled during certain hours. Even though my showed it was off, there was a scheduled DND that I had forgotten about. Check your DND settings thoroughly - sometimes there are multiple layers of call filtering that can interfere. Also, if you're using Google Voice or any call forwarding services, those can sometimes cause issues with receiving callbacks. I ended up temporarily disabling all call filtering features and finally got through on my next callback. The relief when that actually rang was incredible! Don't give up - there's usually a solution hiding in your settings somewhere.

This is such a comprehensive breakdown of potential issues! I never considered that Do Not Disturb might have scheduled settings that I forgot about. Just checked mine and found I had it set to automatically turn on during "work hours" which is exactly when EDD would be calling. Also didn't realize that Google Voice could interfere - I do have that set up for some of my business calls. Going to disable everything temporarily like you suggested. It's reassuring to know that others have figured this out and there are actual solutions. The stress of missing these callbacks is unreal, especially when you've been waiting so long just to get one scheduled. Thanks for sharing your experience - it gives me several new things to try!

I had this exact same frustrating experience! After missing several callbacks, I discovered it was a combination of issues. First, check if your has any "Scam Shield" or similar carrier-level blocking - I called my carrier and they had automatically enabled spam protection that was flagging the EDD number. Second, make sure your box isn't full or close to full, as this can cause to fail before they even ring. Third, try restarting your completely before your next scheduled callback - sometimes there are background processes interfering with incoming calls. I also recommend testing by having a friend call you from an unknown number to see if it rings through properly. After fixing these issues, my next callback came through perfectly. It's such a relief when you finally hear that ring! Don't lose hope - there's usually a technical solution hiding somewhere in your or carrier settings.

I'm really glad you reported it! As someone who's been through the EDD system multiple times, I can't stress enough how important it is to be transparent about ALL income sources. One thing I learned that might help others - if you're doing regular 1099 work while on unemployment, it's actually worth keeping detailed records of when you work vs when you get paid. I started a simple spreadsheet with dates worked, estimated earnings, and actual payment dates. This saved me so much headache when I had to provide documentation later. The EDD system might seem confusing, but they're very thorough about income verification. I've seen people get hit with overpayment notices years later because they thought certain types of work "didn't count." Trust me, it ALL counts to them! You definitely made the smart choice here. Better to potentially lose some benefits now than deal with the stress and financial burden of penalties down the road.

@Sean O'Donnell That's such a smart idea about keeping a spreadsheet! I wish I had thought of that from the beginning. I've been doing some gig work on and off while collecting benefits and honestly never thought about how important it would be to have detailed records of work dates vs payment dates. Your point about EDD being thorough with income verification is so true - reading through all these comments really opened my eyes to how seriously they take this stuff. I'm definitely going to start tracking everything more carefully going forward. Thanks for the practical tip!

This is such an important discussion! I'm really glad Jessica asked this question because I bet so many people are confused about this exact situation. What really stands out to me from reading everyone's experiences is how EDD's system is designed to catch discrepancies eventually - whether it's through tax filing cross-references or other verification methods. The penalties and overpayment issues people have described sound absolutely terrible to deal with. I think the key takeaway here is that "when in doubt, report it" is always the safer approach. The temporary loss of benefits for a week or two is nothing compared to potentially owing thousands in overpayments plus penalties later on. Thanks to everyone who shared their personal experiences - both the success stories and the cautionary tales. This kind of real-world advice is so much more helpful than trying to decipher EDD's confusing website! It's clear that transparency and accurate reporting is the only way to avoid major headaches down the road.
