If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Great to hear! Make sure to save/screenshot your confirmation number for the certification just in case. The system sometimes shows a successful certification but doesn't actually process it until later.

thx for posting the update! gonna try the mobile site right now!

This reminds me of when I was on unemployment last year during the 4th of July weekend and had the EXACT same problem! I ended up having to go to the library on Monday because my home internet was spotty and I was desperate. By the way, sometimes the site works better if you use Microsoft Edge or Firefox instead of Chrome - something about the way the EDD site is coded.

did u check if the asbestos thing counts as a public health emergency? my cousin got some kinda special assistance when his restaurant had to close for a similar health code thing last year, wasn't regular unemployment tho something else

That's a good point about public health emergencies. The asbestos remediation might qualify under local health department provisions. OP should contact their county health department to see if there are any emergency assistance programs specifically for businesses affected by environmental hazards.

Update: I spoke with my landlord and they're going to file a claim with their insurance that might cover some displaced business costs! Also contacted the county health department about the asbestos situation - they're sending an inspector to evaluate if it qualifies as a public health concern that might open up some emergency assistance. Thanks everyone for the suggestions - still figuring this out but at least I have some directions to pursue now. Will update when I know more about what help is available.

That's great news about the landlord's insurance! Fingers crossed it works out. Please do keep us updated - your situation could help others who might face something similar in the future.

my cousinwas stuckin the same situation and she went to her local EDD office in person and got it fixed that day. sometimes u gotta physically go there to get results. the phone system is designed to make u give up tbh

Not all EDD offices handle UI claims in person anymore. Most require appointments for UI issues, and many offices now primarily handle job search services rather than claims processing. Always call the specific office first to confirm if they can help with your particular issue before making the trip.

UPDATE: I finally got through to EDD this morning using the 1-2-4 sequence right at 8:01am! Had to wait on hold for 67 minutes, but finally spoke to a representative. Turns out my former employer contested my claim (even though I was laid off, not fired), which put everything on hold. The rep scheduled me for an eligibility interview next Wednesday to resolve it. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions - I would've been completely in the dark without them. For anyone else stuck in limbo, definitely try calling first thing with that sequence!

Great news! For your eligibility interview, make sure you have documentation of your layoff (any termination letters, emails, etc.) and prepare a clear timeline of events. Be ready to explain your job loss situation concisely. Most contested claims are resolved in the employee's favor when it's truly a layoff, so don't stress too much about the interview.

Anyone else notice that they changed the certification questions recently? Threw me for a loop last time I certified.

0 coins

Yeah, they're always tweaking things. Best to read everything carefully each time, even if you think you know the drill.

DONT FORGET TO REPORT ANY INCOME YOU EARN WHILE ON UNEMPLOYMENT!!! Even if its just a few hours of gig work. Trust me, you dont want them coming after you later for overpayment.

0 coins

Has anyone successfully appealed an overpayment? I'm thinking about trying but idk if it's worth the hassle

0 coins

I did! It took forever, but they reduced what I owed by like 60%. Def worth a shot imo

0 coins

Same here. Make sure you have all your docs in order tho. They're sticklers for paperwork.

pro tip: if you cant pay it all back at once, ask about a payment plan. they can usually work smthing out

0 coins

That's good to know, thanks! I'll definitely ask about that option.
