Quick update: I checked with my friend who's an employment lawyer. She says if you file a wage claim, the Labor Commissioner will also automatically assess waiting time penalties without you having to specifically request them. The penalty is your daily wage for up to 30 days. So if you were making $200/day, that could be up to $6,000 in penalties! Make sure to apply for unemployment right away though, that process is separate and takes time to get approved.
Sometimes the Money Network system just gets backed up. It's technically a separate entity from EDD, so once EDD shows 'paid,' the delay is on the Money Network side. You might want to check if the Money Network website or app shows pending deposits - sometimes they have more up-to-date information than what EDD shows.
UPDATE: My money finally came through this morning! That was about 4 days from certification to actual deposit. Seems like there's just a longer processing time happening right now. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance!
i had the exact opposite problem! i updated my address with appeals but forgot to update it with regular EDD and my certification forms went to my old address. ended up getting my benefits delayed for 3 weeks because of this! its crazy they dont share this info between departments. the lady at EDD told me they're "separate entities" whatever that means
Thanks everyone for all the helpful comments! Just to follow up - I was able to have my hearing (thankfully), and I learned they also have separate phone numbers and email systems. So if you updated any contact info at all, make sure to tell BOTH offices. My appeal was approved, btw! Such a relief after all this stress.
For an expedited hearing request, you need to send a written request directly to the Office of Appeals where your case is assigned. Include your appeal case number, your name, the last 4 of your SSN, and detailed explanation of your hardship with supporting documentation. If you're not sure which office has your appeal, call the main Appeals Board number at 1-800-300-5616 and ask them to confirm where your case is assigned. Regarding getting through to EDD - I've had success calling exactly at 8:01am when they open and using the 1-2-4 prompt sequence. You'll still wait on hold, but at least you'll be in the queue. Keep trying the Claimyr service mentioned above too - having a tier 2 rep flag your case can make a difference. Don't give up - the system is frustrating by design, but persistence pays off. I waited 18 weeks for my appeal last year, but eventually won and received full backpay.
Thank you so much for the detailed instructions. I'm going to call the Appeals Board tomorrow morning and then submit my expedite request with all my hardship documentation. I'll try the 1-2-4 prompt sequence too. After spinning my wheels for months, it feels good to have some concrete steps to take.
hey just fyi when i won my appeal i had to call constantly for a month to get them to actually process my payments, the decision doesnt automatically trigger payment. so once you get thru all this bs be ready for more bs lol

THE WORST PART is you can't even get through to EDD to ask about this! I tried for 2 hours yesterday. Their phone system is TERRIBLE!!! Why can't they just have a simple status update on their website saying when 1099Gs will be available? So many people need this information!

•I feel your pain! Last year I spent THREE DAYS trying to get through about my missing 1099G. Eventually found out they sent it to my old address even though I had updated my contact info. Such a headache!

Just checked my UI Online account after seeing this post, and my 2024 1099G is actually available now! So they're definitely starting to release them. I'm in the Los Angeles area if that matters. Keep checking your online account - it might show up any day now.

•That's great news! Thanks for the update. I'll definitely keep checking mine. I'm in the Bay Area, so hopefully mine will be in the same batch or the next one.
