If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just wanted to add my experience as someone who went through this exact transition about 6 months ago! You're doing everything right by reporting to EDD immediately. One thing that really helped me was setting up email notifications in my SDI Online account so I could track when my benefits officially stopped and get confirmation that everything was processed correctly. Also, since you mentioned physical therapy helped a lot with your recovery, consider asking your new employer if they have any wellness programs or ergonomic assessments available - many companies offer these to help prevent workplace injuries. It sounds like you've got a great opportunity ahead of you, and it's awesome that your recovery timing worked out so perfectly with this job offer!

That's such a great tip about setting up email notifications! I didn't even know that was an option in the SDI Online account. I'll definitely look into that so I can get confirmation that everything was processed correctly. And asking about wellness programs is brilliant - after going through this whole injury and recovery process, I'm definitely more aware of the importance of workplace ergonomics and injury prevention. It would be great if my new employer has resources to help me stay healthy and avoid any future back problems. Thanks for sharing your experience - it's so reassuring to hear from someone who successfully made this same transition recently!

Congratulations on your recovery and the new job! This is exactly why it's so important to stay proactive about reporting changes to EDD. I went through something similar when I returned to work earlier than expected from my own disability leave. One thing I'd add that I don't think anyone mentioned yet - make sure you save/print a copy of your final SDI payment stub or statement for your records. This will show the exact date your benefits ended, which can be helpful if there are ever any discrepancies or questions down the line. EDD's record-keeping isn't always perfect, so having your own documentation is crucial. Also, since you're starting mid-month, you might want to ask your new employer about their pay schedule. Some companies pay bi-weekly, others twice monthly, and the timing of your first check might depend on when in their pay cycle you start. This will help you plan for that gap period that others mentioned. Best of luck with the new position - sounds like everything is working out perfectly for you!

As someone who works in IT, I can explain why this happens so frequently with EDD's system. They're running on legacy infrastructure that wasn't designed to handle the volume of users they have now. The account lockout triggers are way too sensitive - even legitimate login attempts can trip the security system if there's any network lag or session timeout issues. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet: if you're still having problems after trying all these great solutions, check if your internet provider is blocking any EDD domains. Some ISPs accidentally flag government sites as suspicious. You can test this by trying to access your account from a different network (like your phone's hotspot) or using a VPN. Also, for anyone dealing with this in the future - the system tends to have the most issues during peak hours (9 AM - 12 PM and 1 PM - 4 PM on weekdays). Try logging in during off-peak times like early morning (6-8 AM) or evenings (after 6 PM) for better success rates. Maya, I'm so glad the BPO reset worked for you! That's definitely the most reliable workaround right now.

Thanks for the technical explanation Kristin! That makes so much sense about the legacy infrastructure and sensitive lockout triggers. I never would have thought about ISP blocking either - that's really helpful to know. I'm definitely going to try logging in during off-peak hours from now on to avoid this mess in the future. It's frustrating that we have to work around a broken system, but at least understanding why it happens makes it less maddening!

This entire thread should be pinned or turned into a FAQ! I'm a newcomer here and was getting ready to panic about my own SDI account after reading Maya's original post, but the solutions everyone shared are incredible. The BPO reset method, the technical support number (1-855-327-7057), the Contact EDD feature, clearing cache, trying different browsers - there's like a whole toolkit here that EDD should be providing upfront instead of making people figure it out through trial and error. Special thanks to Kristin for the IT perspective on why this happens and the peak hours info. As someone who's about to start dealing with SDI for the first time, I'm definitely bookmarking this thread and following all the preventive tips (screenshots, backup login info, off-peak access times, etc.). It's amazing how this community comes together to solve problems that the official system can't handle properly. Maya, congrats on getting back in and thanks for updating us with the solution that worked!

I'm currently in this exact same situation and this thread has been absolutely incredible! I've been on SDI since January after a surgery complication and my lease is up in June. Like so many others here, I was planning to just use my award letter and bank statements, having no idea there was a specific benefits verification letter I needed from EDD. The comprehensive documentation packet approach that everyone keeps mentioning is clearly the way to go. I'm definitely going to use the Claimyr service - I've already lost count of how many hours I've spent on hold with EDD this month with nothing to show for it. The tip about being upfront with landlords from the beginning also makes total sense, even though it feels scary to lead with disability status. What strikes me most is how many people are dealing with this challenge right now, yet there's virtually no official guidance from EDD about rental applications. It's so frustrating that we have to work harder to prove our reliability when disability payments are often more stable than traditional employment income. But seeing all these success stories, especially Isabella's journey from panic to getting approved, gives me real hope. Thank you to everyone who shared practical solutions instead of just venting about the problem. This thread has turned what felt like an impossible situation into something totally manageable with the right preparation. You've all created an amazing resource that should honestly be pinned for anyone on SDI dealing with housing applications!

This thread has been such an amazing resource for everyone dealing with rental applications while on SDI! I'm actually in a similar situation myself - been on disability since late February due to a workplace injury and will be apartment hunting soon. Reading through all these experiences has been incredibly reassuring and informative. What really stands out to me is how this community has come together to share practical, real-world solutions instead of just complaining about the system. The comprehensive documentation packet strategy seems to be the golden ticket based on everyone's success stories. I had no idea about the difference between award letters and benefits verification letters - that's such crucial information that should be more widely known! The Claimyr service recommendation appears in so many comments here that it's clearly a game-changer for actually reaching EDD. I'm definitely going to try that instead of wasting entire days on hold. It's frustrating that we have to prove ourselves more than other renters when disability income is often more reliable than traditional employment, but seeing Isabella's success and all the other positive outcomes here gives me real confidence. This thread should honestly be turned into some kind of official guide for people on SDI - you've all created something incredibly valuable through sharing your real experiences. Thank you everyone for being so generous with your knowledge and support!

This thread is absolutely incredible! 🤩 I just created an account specifically to thank everyone for sharing these amazing strategies. I've been struggling with getting my award letter for over 3 weeks now and was starting to feel completely helpless. Reading through all these creative solutions - from the mobile app trick to contacting assembly reps to the strategic phone call timing - has completely changed my perspective on how to tackle this! I had no idea there were so many different angles to try. The fact that we've basically had to crowdsource a survival guide just to get basic government services is both impressive and ridiculous, but I'm so grateful this community exists. It really shows the power of people helping each other navigate broken systems. I'm definitely going to start with the mobile app approach since so many people have had success with it, and then maybe try the combination online/mail method if needed. @Sienna Gomez I hope you've found some of these suggestions helpful too - you're definitely not alone in this frustrating journey! Thanks again everyone for turning what felt like an impossible situation into something totally manageable! 🙏

Welcome to the community @Melina Haruko! 👋 I'm also pretty new here and just went through this exact same award letter nightmare a few weeks ago. This thread really is like finding treasure - I had no idea there were so many workarounds until I stumbled across everyone's shared wisdom! The mobile app approach worked great for me too, way better than fighting with the website that kept crashing. It's honestly crazy that we need a whole strategy guide just to get a simple document, but I love how supportive this community is. Everyone here really understands the frustration and goes out of their way to help. @Sienna Gomez definitely has tons of solid options to try now thanks to everyone chiming in! Good luck with your request - the mobile app route is definitely worth trying first! 🤞

Just wanted to add another tip that helped me recently! If you're still having trouble with all the digital methods, try calling during lunch hours (around 12-1 PM) - I know it sounds counterintuitive, but I actually got through faster then because most people call first thing in the morning or right before closing. Also, when you do get someone on the phone, ask them to email you a confirmation number for your award letter request - this way you have proof that you made the request and can reference it if you need to follow up. The rep I spoke with was actually really helpful once I got through and told me that having a confirmation number speeds up any future inquiries about the same request. It took about 10 days, but I finally got my letter! This whole thread has been such a lifesaver - it's amazing how we've all become EDD navigation experts together! 💪

@Derek Olson That s'such a smart tip about calling during lunch hours! 🕐 I never would have thought to try that timing - everyone always talks about calling right when they open, but it makes total sense that there might be less competition during the middle of the day. And asking for a confirmation number is brilliant! I ve'had situations before where I thought I submitted something but had no way to prove it later. This thread really has become the ultimate EDD masterclass - between all the different timing strategies, multiple submission methods, and now getting confirmation numbers, we ve'basically reverse-engineered the whole system! It s'both awesome and sad that we ve'had to become this strategic just to get basic services, but I m'so grateful everyone keeps sharing what actually works. Thanks for adding another valuable piece to our collective survival guide! 🙌

I'm so relieved to find this thread! I just realized I made the exact same mistake on my SDI claim - put January instead of February for my start date and have been spiraling about it all morning. Reading everyone's experiences here has been such a huge comfort. It's amazing how something that felt like such a massive error is actually just a routine fix for EDD reps. I'm definitely going to follow the advice about calling right at 8am tomorrow with my claim number ready. The fact that most people are getting this resolved in just a few minutes once connected gives me so much hope. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories - this community is incredible! 💙

I totally understand the panic you're feeling right now! I made a similar mistake on my disability claim about 8 months ago - accidentally put March instead of April for my start date and was convinced I'd completely messed everything up. But I can confirm what everyone else is saying here - it's actually a really straightforward fix once you get through to EDD. When I called, the rep was super understanding and said these date corrections happen multiple times every single day. She fixed it right in their system while I was on the phone - took maybe 3-4 minutes total once I explained the situation. Just make sure you have your claim number ready and know exactly what the correct date should be. The 8am calling strategy that people have mentioned definitely works! I tried calling later in the day a few times and couldn't get through, but when I called right at 8am I was connected in about 25 minutes. It's such a relief once it's done - you'll wonder why you were so worried about it. Hang in there! 🙂

This is exactly what I needed to hear right now! I just made the same type of mistake (wrong start month) and was absolutely convinced I'd ruined my entire claim. It's so reassuring to hear from someone who went through this 8 months ago and can confirm it's really as simple as everyone says. The detail about the rep saying these corrections happen multiple times daily really puts it in perspective - what feels like a catastrophic error to us is just another Tuesday for them! I'm definitely going to try the 8am calling strategy tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your experience and for being so encouraging! 😊
