I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ
How long did you have to wait once they started calling?
It took about an hour and a half, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck listening to hold music!
This might sound weird, but have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them or messaging on Facebook can get a response. Public pressure and all that.
Has anyone tried contacting their state representative? I've heard that can sometimes speed things up when EDD is being particularly useless.
I did this! It actually helped. Took about a week, but my rep's office got EDD to resolve my issue. Def worth a shot if you're getting nowhere with EDD directly.
That's a great idea, I hadn't even thought of that. I'll give it a try if I can't get anywhere with EDD. Thanks!
just wanted to say hang in there OP. we've all been there and it sucks. but you'll get through this! 💪
Thanks for the encouragement! It means a lot 😊
have u tried faxing them? I no it sounds old school but I got a response within a week after I faxed my info
Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD, including dates and times. 2. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try their social media. Sometimes they respond on Twitter or Facebook. 4. As someone else mentioned, contacting your local rep can help. 5. If all else fails, consider filing a complaint with the state labor board. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!
Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try these steps.

PSA: Always keep some cash stashed away for emergencies like this! Learned that lesson the hard way 😅

Have you checked if there's been any suspicious activity on your account? Sometimes banks block cards if they detect potential fraud. Log into your online banking and review recent transactions.
