I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My automatic payments stopped coming about 10 days ago with no explanation. What's really frustrating is that I can't even get a straight answer from anyone about what's causing the delay. I've been checking my UI Online account obsessively but there's nothing new there. It's like we're all just stuck in limbo waiting for EDD to figure their stuff out. Really hoping someone here has found a solution that actually works.
I feel your pain! The lack of communication from EDD is probably the most frustrating part. Have you tried reaching out through multiple channels at once? Sometimes hitting them from different angles (phone, online messaging, even social media) can get their attention faster. Also, if you haven't already, try logging in at different times of day - sometimes the system updates overnight and you might catch new information early in the morning.
I'm so sorry you're going through this - I know exactly how stressful it is when bills are piling up and you're not getting the payments you were promised. One thing that helped me when I had a similar issue was creating a paper trail by sending messages through the UI Online portal AND following up with certified mail to document everything. Also, check if there are any local EDD offices near you that do walk-ins - sometimes showing up in person can get faster results than phone calls. In the meantime, if you're really struggling with bills, contact your utility companies and creditors to explain the situation - many have hardship programs or will work with you on payment plans while you sort this out with EDD. Don't lose hope, this will get resolved!
Just wanted to chime in as someone who's been through this exact nightmare! I struggled with the same error codes for weeks before I finally got my claim submitted. What worked for me was a combination of several things mentioned here: I cleared my cache/cookies, restarted my computer, and then logged in at around 6 AM like Lucas Adams suggested. The early morning timing really seems to be key - the system is much more stable when fewer people are trying to use it. Also, make sure you're not using any browser extensions or ad blockers as those can sometimes interfere with the EDD site's functionality. One more tip that helped me - if you get an error, don't immediately try again. Wait at least 15-20 minutes before your next attempt, otherwise it might temporarily lock you out. The whole system is frustrating but hang in there! Once you find the right combination of timing and browser settings, it should go through. Rooting for you! 💪
This is exactly the kind of detailed advice I was hoping to find! I'm completely new to the EDD system and honestly feeling pretty lost with all these technical issues just to file a basic claim. The 15-20 minute wait tip is something I hadn't seen mentioned before - that's really helpful to know about potential lockouts. I definitely have some browser extensions running, so I'll make sure to disable those before trying again. It's frustrating that we have to jump through so many hoops just to access what should be a straightforward government service, but I really appreciate everyone sharing what actually worked for them instead of just venting. Going to try the early morning approach tomorrow with a clean browser setup. Fingers crossed! 🤞
Hey Hunter! I just went through this exact same issue a couple weeks ago and it was so frustrating! What finally worked for me was using a completely different browser - I was using Safari and kept getting error codes, but when I switched to Chrome it went through immediately. Also, definitely try the early morning login that others have mentioned - I had success around 7 AM when the servers aren't as overloaded. Before you try again, make sure to completely close your browser, clear everything (cache, cookies, browsing data), and restart your computer. The EDD system is super finicky about having a "clean" session. If you're still having trouble after trying these steps, it might be worth checking if there are any messages in your EDD inbox about account verification or other holds. Sometimes error codes are just the system's way of saying there's an underlying issue with your account that needs to be addressed first. Don't give up - it's definitely solvable! Let us know what ends up working for you! 🙏
Thanks for all the detailed advice, Yara! As someone who's completely new to this whole EDD process, I'm really grateful for communities like this where people actually help each other out instead of just complaining. The browser switching tip is interesting - I've been using Edge this whole time, so maybe that's part of the problem. I'll definitely try Chrome with the early morning timing tomorrow. One quick question though - when you mention checking for messages in the EDD inbox about account verification, where exactly do I find that? Is it something that shows up on the main dashboard when you log in, or do I need to navigate somewhere specific? I want to make sure I'm not missing any underlying issues before I keep trying to file the claim. Really appreciate everyone taking the time to share what worked for them! 😊
I had this exact same issue a few months ago! The upload feature is really poorly designed. What finally worked for me was accessing it through the mobile app instead of the website. For some reason, the upload button showed up there when it wouldn't appear on desktop. If you don't have the app, you can also try accessing the mobile version of the site through your phone's browser. Also, make sure your form is saved as a PDF - I think they're picky about file formats. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the mobile app tip! I never would have thought to try that. It's so weird how the same system can work differently on different platforms. I'm definitely going to download the app and give it a shot. And good call on the PDF format - I was actually trying to upload it as a JPEG screenshot 🤦♀️
I just went through this nightmare last month! Here's what I discovered after way too much trial and error: the upload feature is tied to your case status. If your disability claim is still in "initial review" status, the upload option won't show up at all. You have to wait until they move you to "pending additional documentation" status, which can take 2-3 weeks. It's incredibly frustrating because nowhere on the site does it explain this! I only found out when I finally got through to someone on the phone. You can check your case status under "Claim History" - if it's still in initial review, that's why you can't upload anything yet. Super backwards system if you ask me.
Wait, WHAT?! This explains everything! I've been banging my head against the wall for weeks thinking the website was broken. So you're saying I just have to sit and wait for them to change my status before I can even upload my documents? That's absolutely insane - why wouldn't they just tell people this upfront? I checked my claim history and sure enough, I'm still in "initial review." This is so frustrating but at least now I know I'm not going crazy. Thanks for sharing this info, you probably just saved me from making dozens more phone calls!
So glad you got it resolved! That's exactly what happened to me too - a tiny difference in the medical coding that created a system flag. It's frustrating that these technical glitches can hold up payments for weeks, but at least now you know what to watch for if you need to submit another continuous cert in the future. The ICD code thing seems to be a common issue - might be worth mentioning to others who are stuck in pending status to have their doctors double-check that the codes match exactly from the original certification.
This is such valuable information! I'm new here but dealing with a similar situation - my continuous cert has been pending for over a week now. I had no idea that even small differences in medical coding could cause these delays. I'm going to call my doctor's office today to make sure they used the exact same ICD codes as my original certification. It's crazy that such tiny technical details can hold up people's disability payments when they're already dealing with health issues and financial stress. Thanks for sharing this insight - it could save others weeks of waiting!
I'm so sorry you're going through this - the stress of waiting for disability payments while dealing with medical issues is just awful. I went through something similar last year when my continuous certification got stuck for almost 3 weeks. One thing that might help while you're waiting: if you're facing immediate financial hardship like rent or utilities being due, some counties have emergency assistance programs that can provide bridge funding while you wait for EDD to sort things out. You can usually find these through 211 (dial 2-1-1) or your county's social services website. They often have specific programs for people waiting on disability payments. Also, document everything - dates you called, reference numbers if they give you any, when you submitted forms, etc. If this drags on much longer, having that timeline will be really helpful when you finally get through to someone. Hang in there, and I really hope your payment processes soon!

Make sure you keep all your paperwork in order. Sometimes they "lose" stuff and you need to resend it. Happened to me twice 🙄

•That's frustrating. It's like they should have a better system for tracking documents digitally.

Hey Omar, I totally understand your frustration! I went through something similar earlier this year. After my doctor recertification, it took about 8-10 business days for my payment to process and show up. The waiting is definitely nerve-wracking, especially when you're counting on that money. One thing that helped me was setting up text alerts through the EDD website so I got notified as soon as there was any update on my claim status. Also, don't hesitate to call if it goes beyond 2 weeks - sometimes there are small hiccups that need manual review. You've got this! 💪
