If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I went through this exact situation about 6 months ago! I had to relocate to Arizona during my recovery from a herniated disc surgery and was terrified about getting my continuation forms signed by an out-of-state doctor. Turns out it was completely fine - my Arizona orthopedist was able to complete everything without any issues. Here's what I learned: 1) Make sure your Nevada doctor has access to your complete medical history from your California provider, 2) Bring a copy of the EDD form to review with them before your appointment so they know exactly what's needed, 3) Ask them to be very detailed in their notes about your current limitations and ongoing treatment needs, and 4) Double-check that they include their full license number and state. EDD processed my continuation normally - took about 2-3 weeks and I never heard a peep about the out-of-state provider. The rep I eventually got through to said this happens all the time and as long as the doctor is licensed and completes the form thoroughly, there are no issues. You're going to be fine! Just make sure all the paperwork is complete and detailed.

This is incredibly reassuring! I've been losing sleep over this situation, but hearing from so many people who've successfully done this with different out-of-state doctors really puts my mind at ease. I love your tip about reviewing the form with the doctor beforehand - that's definitely something I'm going to do. My appointment is in a few days and I was panicking about potential delays or rejections, but it sounds like as long as I'm prepared with all my records and make sure the form is filled out completely, it should go smoothly. Thank you so much for sharing your experience - this community has been a lifesaver!

I'm going through this exact same thing right now! I had to move to Oregon temporarily after my hip replacement surgery got complicated and I'm staying with my parents during recovery. My Oregon orthopedic surgeon just completed my continuation forms last week and I submitted them to EDD. Based on what everyone is saying here, I made sure to have him include his Oregon medical license number clearly on the form, and I brought all my surgical records from my California surgeon to the appointment. He was really thorough about documenting my current mobility restrictions and ongoing physical therapy needs. Still waiting to hear back from EDD but feeling more confident after reading all these success stories! The hardest part was actually getting an appointment with a specialist here in Oregon - the wait times are crazy. But once I got in, the doctor had no issues completing the California forms. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it's so helpful to know this is actually pretty common and manageable!

That's so encouraging to hear! I'm in a really similar situation - also dealing with surgery complications and staying with family out of state. It sounds like you did everything right by bringing all your surgical records and making sure the Oregon doctor was thorough with the documentation. The wait times for specialists are definitely brutal right now! I'm curious - did your Oregon doctor ask any specific questions about the California EDD process, or were they pretty familiar with disability forms in general? My Nevada appointment is coming up and I'm trying to prepare for any questions they might have. Really hoping your continuation gets approved quickly!

I'm also scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery in a few weeks and had the exact same confusion about certifications! This thread has been incredibly helpful - I was so worried about having to deal with bi-weekly certifications like I did when I was on unemployment a couple years ago. One thing I wanted to add that might be helpful for others in similar situations: if you're planning to use any accrued sick leave or vacation time in combination with SDI, make sure to check with your HR department about how that works. My company allows me to use sick time to "top off" the SDI payments to get closer to my full salary, but there are specific procedures I need to follow. Also, for those asking about timing - I called EDD directly (took forever to get through!) and they told me that carpal tunnel surgery is pretty routine for them to process since it's such a common workplace injury. The representative said as long as my doctor is specific about work restrictions and recovery timeline, it should be straightforward. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - it's such a relief to know I can focus on recovery without worrying about missing certification deadlines!

That's such a smart point about coordinating sick leave with SDI! I hadn't even thought about using accrued time off to supplement the disability payments. I should definitely check with my HR department about that - getting closer to full salary during recovery would be a huge help financially. It's also reassuring to hear that EDD considers carpal tunnel surgery routine to process. Even though it took forever to get through to them, at least you got some helpful information! I've been dreading trying to call them, but maybe it's worth the wait if they can provide clarity on processing times. Thanks for sharing that tip about sick leave coordination - that could really make a difference for anyone dealing with the financial impact of taking time off for surgery. Hope your procedure goes smoothly too! It's nice to know there are others going through the same thing around the same time.

As someone who works in workers' compensation and has seen countless SDI cases, I can confirm what everyone here is saying - there are NO regular bi-weekly certifications required for State Disability Insurance like there are for unemployment benefits. The key difference is that SDI is based on medical certification from your doctor, not your ongoing job search activity. Once your physician certifies that you're unable to work for a specific period due to your medical condition, EDD processes payments automatically for that certified period. A few important reminders based on what I see in my work: 1) Make sure your doctor is very specific about your work restrictions and expected recovery timeline on the initial certification 2) Keep copies of ALL medical documentation related to your disability 3) If you return to work earlier than expected, notify EDD immediately to avoid overpayment issues 4) If your recovery takes longer than initially certified, you'll need your doctor to submit an extension The peace of mind of not having to worry about certification deadlines while recovering from surgery is one of the few advantages SDI has over the UI system. Focus on healing - the payments will come automatically as long as everything was filed correctly initially. Good luck with your carpal tunnel surgery! It's a very common procedure with good success rates.

I'm dealing with the same issue right now - my payment was supposed to arrive three days ago and I'm starting to panic about bills! Reading through everyone's advice here has been incredibly helpful. I especially appreciate the specific tips about calling at 8:01 AM and asking about "payment holds" or "pending determinations" - those seem like the kind of insider knowledge that could actually make a difference. It's both frustrating and reassuring to see how common this problem is. I'm definitely going to try the early morning call strategy tomorrow with all my paperwork ready. Has anyone had success with the online messaging system as an alternative to calling? I'm wondering if that might be worth trying too while I wait to get through on the phone. Thanks to everyone sharing their experiences - it really helps to know we're not going through this alone! 🙏

I've had mixed results with the online messaging system - it's definitely worth trying as a backup! The response time can be anywhere from 24-72 hours, but at least you get a written record of your inquiry. When I used it, I made sure to include my claim number, the specific dates I was expecting payment, and asked the same direct questions about payment holds. Sometimes they can resolve simple issues through messages without needing a phone call. The key is being very specific about what you need rather than just saying "my payment is late." I'd suggest sending a message tonight and then still trying the 8:01 AM call strategy tomorrow - that way you have two chances to get help. Hang in there, you've got this! @Yuki Watanabe

I've actually had pretty good luck with the online messaging system recently! It took about 48 hours to get a response, but they were able to identify that I had a simple ID verification hold that was blocking my payment. The rep who responded gave me clear instructions on what documents to upload, and my payment was released within 24 hours after that. The key is to be super specific in your message - include your claim number, the exact dates your payments were supposed to arrive, and ask directly "Is there a payment hold, pending determination, or verification requirement on my account that's preventing payment?" I'd definitely recommend trying both the message system tonight AND the 8:01 AM call tomorrow. Having multiple inquiries in the system sometimes helps prioritize your case. Good luck! @Yuki Watanabe

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this stress! Payment delays are unfortunately becoming more common lately. I went through this exact situation about 6 weeks ago and here's what finally worked for me: Call at exactly 8:01 AM (not 8:00 - give them a minute to settle in), have your claim number and last payment date written down, and ask specifically if there's a "payment hold" or "pending determination" on your account. That's the exact language they use internally. In my case, it was just a routine verification that got stuck in their system and the rep cleared it immediately once I called. Also, don't accept vague answers like "it's processing" - ask for a specific timeline. If the first person can't help, ask to speak with a "payment specialist." I had to call twice but got it resolved within 48 hours. Hang in there - most of these delays are just bureaucratic hiccups that can be fixed once you reach the right person! 🤞

This is such helpful and detailed advice! I really appreciate you taking the time to share what worked for you. The 8:01 AM timing tip is something I never would have thought of, and using the specific language like "payment hold" or "pending determination" sounds like it could make a real difference in getting the right help. It's reassuring to hear that your issue was resolved so quickly once you got through to the right person. I'm definitely going to try this approach - having everything written down beforehand is smart too since it's easy to get flustered when you finally get someone on the line. Thanks for the encouragement and for sharing the specific steps that worked! @Connor O'Brien

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My claim was approved almost 3 weeks ago but still no Money Network card. It's absolutely maddening when you're approved for benefits but can't actually access them. Reading through all these comments has been so helpful though - I had no idea about calling Bank of America directly to check if the card was even issued! That glitch Sean mentioned where EDD approves the claim but never sends the card request to BoA could totally be what's happening. I'm definitely calling BoA at 1-866-692-9374 first thing tomorrow morning with my SSN and claim number ready. It's somewhat reassuring to know so many others have dealt with this (though I wouldn't wish it on anyone). Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips - gives me hope there's actually a way to resolve this nightmare! 🙏

Rami, I'm in the exact same boat! My claim was approved about 2.5 weeks ago and still nothing. It's such a relief to see so many people sharing the same experience - makes me feel less crazy for being so frustrated about this. The BoA tip from Sean really seems like the way to go. I'm also planning to call them tomorrow morning at 1-866-692-9374. Maybe we should all report back here with what we find out? Could help others who are stuck in this same situation. Hang in there - sounds like there might actually be light at the end of this tunnel! 🤞

I just went through this exact nightmare myself! What finally worked for me was discovering that EDD has a "live chat" feature on their website that's way easier to get through to than the phone lines. You have to log into your UI Online account and look for the "Contact EDD" option. The wait times are still long but at least you don't have to keep redialing. When I finally got through, they told me there was a system error that prevented my card from being issued and they had to manually trigger it. Got my card 5 days later! Also, pro tip: screenshot everything and keep detailed notes of who you talk to and when. This whole process is so broken but you WILL get your money eventually. Hang in there! 💪

Jade, thank you SO much for mentioning the live chat feature! I had no idea that existed and I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get through on the phone for weeks. I'm definitely going to try logging into UI Online and look for that "Contact EDD" option tomorrow. A system error preventing the card from being issued sounds exactly like what could be happening to me and several others here. It's frustrating that these glitches happen but at least there seem to be ways to get them fixed once you can actually reach someone. Really appreciate you sharing what worked for you - gives me another avenue to try! 🙏

I'm a newcomer to this community but have been lurking and reading posts about EDD benefits. This thread has been incredibly informative! I'm actually in a somewhat similar situation - I've been on SDI for the past 2 months after a workplace injury and my spouse was just diagnosed with a serious illness that will require ongoing care. Reading through all these real-world experiences has given me so much clarity about how SDI and PFL work as separate benefit entitlements. The consistent advice about applying 1-2 weeks before SDI ends, ensuring the DE 2501F form is completed thoroughly, and keeping detailed care records seems like the roadmap to success. @StellarSurfer - I hope your mom's stroke recovery is going well and that your PFL application process has been smooth. It sounds like you had all the right information to move forward confidently. For anyone else who might find this thread in the future, the collective wisdom here seems to be that these benefit transitions are definitely possible and the system is designed to handle overlapping family care needs. Having this community share their actual experiences is so much more valuable than trying to decode the official EDD website alone!

Welcome to the community @Chloe Martin! I'm so glad this thread has been helpful for you too. It's really encouraging to see how many people are finding the information they need here when the official resources can be so confusing. Your situation with needing to transition from SDI to care for your spouse sounds really challenging - I hope their treatment goes well. Based on everything shared here, it sounds like you're already well-prepared with the key steps: applying before your SDI ends, getting thorough medical documentation, and keeping good records. This community has been such a lifesaver for understanding these benefit transitions. Wishing you and your spouse the best during this difficult time!

I'm new to this community but have been following discussions about EDD benefits for a while. This thread has been absolutely incredible - I wish I had found it months ago when I was struggling to understand the difference between SDI and PFL! I'm currently on SDI after a surgery in January and my elderly grandmother recently had a medical emergency that will require extended care. Reading everyone's experiences here has completely clarified that SDI and PFL are separate benefit entitlements even though they come from the same fund we contribute to through payroll. The consistent advice throughout this thread is so valuable: apply for PFL 1-2 weeks before SDI ends to avoid gaps, ensure the DE 2501F form is filled out completely by the doctor, and keep detailed records of care needs. It's amazing how many people have successfully navigated this exact transition! @StellarSurfer - I hope your application went smoothly and that both you and your mom are doing well. This thread should honestly be pinned as a resource for anyone dealing with overlapping disability and family care situations. The real-world experiences shared here are infinitely more helpful than trying to decipher the official EDD website. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their stories - it's making a real difference for people like us navigating these challenging circumstances!
