If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I'm so glad you were able to get through and figure out what was holding up your benefits! It's really frustrating that the worker didn't mention needing the housing verification form during your interview - that seems to happen way too often. At least they're going to backdate your benefits to the 7th, so you won't lose out on any money. Hopefully your landlord can fill out that form quickly so you can get your benefits processed ASAP. Thanks for updating us on what happened - this will definitely help other people who run into the same issue!

Yes, thank you @a55fa451d546 for sharing the update! This is exactly the kind of information that helps all of us understand what to watch out for. The housing verification form requirement seems to come up a lot during recertifications, especially if you've moved or had any changes to your living situation. It's great that you pushed for the backdated benefits too - that's definitely something people should always ask for when there are delays due to missing information that wasn't properly communicated during the interview.

Really glad you got this sorted out @a55fa451d546! The housing verification form issue is SO common - I've seen this exact scenario play out multiple times in this community. It's honestly poor practice for workers to say someone is "approved" during the interview when there are still outstanding verification requirements. They should really be saying something like "pending receipt of housing verification" instead. But at least you're getting backdated benefits, which is the right outcome. Hope your landlord gets that form back to you quickly!

Absolutely agree with you @9a9cad992cbb! As someone new to this community, I'm already learning so much from posts like this. It really does seem misleading for workers to say "approved" when there are still pending requirements. @a55fa451d546, your experience is going to help me know what questions to ask during my own upcoming recertification next month. I'll definitely make sure to specifically ask if there are ANY additional documents needed before hanging up, even if they say I'm approved. Thanks for being so detailed in your updates!

This thread is absolutely incredible and should honestly be pinned as a resource guide! As someone who's been on CalFresh for about 8 months now, I learned so many things I wish I had known from day one. The temporary card number option especially - that should be printed in bold on every EBT welcome packet! What really stands out to me is how this community has essentially created the emergency handbook that the county should provide but doesn't. It's both inspiring and frustrating - inspiring because of how everyone jumps in to help each other, but frustrating that we HAVE to rely on crowdsourced information for basic survival needs. @Caesar Grant your original post probably helped way more people than just yourself today. I bet tons of folks are bookmarking this for future emergencies. And huge thanks to everyone who shared specific locations, phone numbers, and real experiences - you're literally preventing people from going hungry when the system fails them. This is what real community support looks like! For anyone new reading this: definitely screenshot the key info (numbers, addresses, hours) so you have it handy when you're in crisis mode. This thread is proof that we have each other's backs even when official resources fall short.

@Ethan Scott You re'so right about this being the emergency handbook that should officially exist! As someone completely new to both CalFresh and this amazing community, I m'honestly overwhelmed by how much life-saving information has been shared here. The fact that @Caesar Grant went from panic mode this morning to successfully getting his card the same day shows how powerful community knowledge can be when official systems fail us. What really hits me is how many people are saying they wish they d known'this stuff from the beginning. Like, why isn t there'an official Emergency EBT "Card Loss Protocol guide that" includes ALL of these options? The temporary card number thing, same-day printing locations, food bank backups - this should all be standard information provided with your benefits, not something we have to discover through community wisdom during a crisis. I m definitely'taking everyone s advice'about screenshotting the key details. Already saved the Claimyr link, EBT customer service number, and those specific LA office locations. This thread has turned what seemed like a nightmare scenario into something manageable with clear action steps. Thank you to everyone who shared their real experiences - you re creating'the safety net that the official system should provide! This community support is truly incredible. 💙

This thread is absolutely amazing and such a perfect example of why community support is so vital! As someone who's been on CalFresh for about a year, I've definitely had my share of system frustrations, but thankfully never lost my card until now - and reading through all these responses has me feeling so much more prepared if it ever happens. The fact that @Caesar Grant got his replacement card the SAME DAY he posted shows how powerful this community knowledge is! And honestly, the temporary card number option that @Mae Bennett mentioned is something I had zero clue about - that alone could be a game-changer for so many people facing this emergency. What really strikes me is how everyone jumped in with specific, actionable advice rather than just sympathy. Real phone numbers, actual office locations, step-by-step processes - this is the kind of practical information that literally keeps people fed when the official system lets them down. I'm definitely screenshotting all the key details because you never know when you or someone you know might need this info urgently. The fact that we have to crowdsource such critical emergency information really highlights how much the official CalFresh system needs improvement, but it also shows how incredible this community is at taking care of each other. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences - you're making a real difference! 🙏

This thread has been so incredibly helpful! I'm also new to CalFresh and just got my first IRT letter yesterday. I was completely confused and worried about what it meant - the official language makes it sound so scary! Reading everyone's real experiences here has been such a relief. I work as a rideshare driver so my income varies week to week depending on how much I decide to work. Based on what I'm learning here, it sounds like I only need to worry if my total monthly income goes over my IRT threshold, not the daily fluctuations. My letter says my IRT is $2,850, so I'm going to start keeping track of my monthly totals like some of you suggested. The tip about using BenefitsCal online instead of calling is amazing - I had no idea that was even an option! And I love the idea of setting phone reminders for the 10-day reporting window since I'm terrible with deadlines. Thank you Maya for asking exactly what I was wondering about, and thanks to everyone who shared their stories. You've turned something that felt really intimidating into something I can actually handle! This community is incredible for helping newcomers understand how the system really works.

Welcome to the community and I'm so glad you found this thread helpful! As someone who also does gig work (food delivery), I totally understand how nerve-wracking that first IRT letter can be. Your approach of tracking monthly totals is exactly right - those daily rideshare fluctuations don't matter as much as staying under that $2,850 monthly threshold. One tip specific to rideshare driving: make sure you're tracking your gross income (before expenses like gas) since that's what counts toward IRT, not your net profit. I learned this the hard way when I was only counting what I took home after expenses! Also, if you use apps like Stride or QuickBooks Self-Employed to track your driving income, they usually have monthly summary features that make it super easy to see your totals. The phone reminder idea is genius - I set mine for the 25th of each month so I can review my earnings before the month ends. That way if I'm getting close to my threshold, I can decide whether to take a few days off or just be prepared to report if I go over. Good luck with everything!

I'm so grateful I found this thread! Just got my IRT letter last week and was completely panicking about what it meant. I work at a coffee shop and sometimes get asked to cover extra shifts, so I was terrified that picking up a few extra hours would somehow get me kicked off CalFresh entirely. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been such a huge relief - especially learning that going over your IRT just means they recalculate your benefits rather than cutting you off completely. The practical tips about using BenefitsCal online and keeping pay stubs ready are exactly what I needed to hear. I love the idea of setting a phone reminder for the 10-day reporting window since I'm notorious for forgetting important deadlines. And the monthly income tracker suggestion is brilliant - I'm definitely going to start doing that so I can keep an eye on whether I'm approaching my $2,400 threshold. Maya, thank you so much for asking this question! It's exactly what so many of us newbies were wondering but were too nervous to ask. Everyone's stories have made me feel so much more confident about navigating this part of the system. This community is amazing!

Pro tip: If you're having trouble finding the pending deposit info on BenefitsCal, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. The site can be glitchy sometimes. Also, the pending amounts usually show up around the 3rd of each month for mid-month deposits and around the 18th for end-of-month deposits. If you still can't see it after a few days, definitely call your county office - sometimes there are technical issues on their end that prevent the info from displaying properly.

Thanks for the browser tip! I was having issues with BenefitsCal loading properly on Chrome but it worked fine on Firefox. Also really helpful to know about the timing - I was checking too early in the month and getting frustrated that nothing was showing up. The deposit schedule info makes total sense now that I think about it.

Just wanted to add that if you have the ConnectEBT app (the official one), they recently added a "Benefit Schedule" feature that shows your deposit dates for the next 3 months. It doesn't always show the exact dollar amount like BenefitsCal does, but it's super convenient for planning when your benefits will hit. You can find it under the "More" tab at the bottom of the app. Also, if you're getting SNAP Emergency Allotments or any special pandemic benefits, those sometimes show up separately from your regular CalFresh amount, so don't be confused if you see multiple pending deposits listed!

This is super helpful! I had no idea about the ConnectEBT app having a benefit schedule feature. Just downloaded it and found the "More" tab you mentioned. Quick question though - what are Emergency Allotments? I see people mention them sometimes but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be getting those or if they're still a thing? My benefits seem pretty consistent month to month so I'm wondering if I'm missing out on something I should be applying for.

I went through this same transfer from Alameda to San Diego County about 8 months ago and can confirm what everyone else is saying - your EBT card will absolutely keep working! Your $340 is completely safe. Here's what I wish I had known going into my transfer: 1. The physical card stays the same - same number, same PIN, same everything 2. Your existing balance remains accessible throughout the entire process 3. The only risk is a delay with your NEXT month's benefits, not your current funds 4. San Diego County is actually pretty good with transfers compared to some other counties My transfer took about 10 days total, and my next benefits were only delayed by 6 days. They backdated everything so I didn't lose a penny. Pro tip: When you call San Diego County, ask specifically for your "case transfer timeline" - they usually have a standard processing window they can share. Also, if you don't hear back within a week, don't hesitate to call again. These transfers happen all the time and the workers are used to helping people track their status. The anxiety is totally understandable, but you're going to be fine! Your current funds are protected and you'll get through this transition smoothly.

Thank you @Samuel Robinson for sharing your experience and those practical tips! As someone new to this whole CalFresh system, I really appreciate hearing from people who have actually been through these county transfers. The case "transfer timeline tip" is brilliant - I never would have thought to ask for that specifically, but having a concrete timeframe would definitely help with the anxiety of not knowing what to expect. It s'such a relief to hear that San Diego County has a good reputation for handling transfers efficiently. Your timeline of 10 days for the transfer with just a 6-day delay sounds very manageable, especially knowing they backdate everything. I think the hardest part of this whole process is just the uncertainty and not knowing what s'normal, so hearing these real timelines from actual people is incredibly valuable. I m'definitely going to ask for that case transfer timeline when I call them tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement - this community has been amazing for helping me understand what to expect!

I just wanted to add my experience from moving between counties twice in the past few years - first from Santa Clara to Riverside, then from Riverside to Imperial County. Your EBT card will definitely stay active throughout the transfer process! What I've learned from going through this multiple times: 1. The card itself never gets cancelled - it's a statewide system 2. Your existing balance always stays put (I've never lost a single dollar during transfers) 3. The PIN and card number never change 4. Any delays are usually just with the next month's deposit, not your current funds From my experience, San Diego County is actually one of the better counties for processing transfers quickly. When I had to work with them for a friend's case, they were pretty responsive and gave clear timelines. My biggest piece of advice: document everything! Take screenshots of your balance before the transfer starts, get confirmation numbers from all phone calls, and don't be shy about following up. The workers handle hundreds of cases, so staying organized and persistent really helps. Your $340 is safe - you can shop normally while waiting for the case to fully transfer. The system is specifically designed to prevent people from losing access to benefits during moves like this. Hang in there!

Thank you @KingKongZilla for sharing your experience with multiple county transfers! It's really reassuring to hear from someone who's been through this process twice and never lost any money during the transfers. Your point about San Diego County being one of the better counties for processing transfers quickly is great to hear since that's where I'm transferring to. I love your advice about documenting everything - I'm definitely going to take screenshots of my current balance right now and start keeping better track of confirmation numbers from my calls. It's such a relief to know that I can continue shopping normally with my existing $340 while waiting for the case to transfer. Everyone in this thread has been so helpful in explaining how the system actually works versus what I was imagining in my head. Thanks for taking the time to share your multi-county experience - it really helps to hear from someone who's navigated this process successfully multiple times!
