Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

I thought P-EBT was only during the pandemic?????? Why are people still getting it in 2025???? My kids school says they all get free lunch anyway so what is this even for????
The original P-EBT was pandemic-related, but California extended a modified version of the program. The current P-EBT benefits cover days when eligible students couldn't access school meals due to excused COVID-related absences, remote learning days, or school closures. Even though many schools offer universal free meals now, P-EBT helps replace those meals on days when students couldn't physically be at school to receive them.
Are these P-EBT benefits supposed to come on our regular CalFresh EBT card? Or is it separate? I just realized I should check if I'm looking in the right place.
It comes on a completely different card! It's a special gold P-EBT card with your child's name on it (not yours). They should have mailed it to your house. If you never got one, definitely call that number someone posted above!

anyone know if theres emergency food banks that can help while waiting for calfresh to fix their mistakes??
Yes, call 211 in your area to find emergency food assistance. Many food banks offer same-day emergency food boxes specifically for families waiting for CalFresh issues to be resolved. Some even have special hours for families with children. Bring your CalFresh card or case number if you have it - some places prioritize CalFresh recipients who are experiencing benefit delays.
UPDATE: I finally got through to someone this morning! I used that Claimyr service one of you suggested and it worked great - only waited about 25 minutes instead of calling all day. Turns out there was a system glitch affecting people who recertified in April. The worker said about 200 cases in my county alone had the same issue! They fixed it on the spot and my benefits should load within 24 hours. The worker also gave me a direct extension to call if it doesn't show up tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. This community is amazing!

Just an important tip from someone who's been through this before - if you've moved in the last year, make ABSOLUTELY SURE both your child's school AND the county CalFresh office have your current address. My kids missed benefits last round because the cards went to our old apartment. Also, when you get the cards, activate them immediately! They expire if not activated within a certain timeframe.
Thanks for the reminder! I updated our address with the school but definitely need to call the county office tomorrow. Do you remember how long the activation period is?
I think it's 90 days to activate, but don't quote me on that. Better to do it as soon as you receive them. Also, create separate PINs for each card so you don't get confused later!
can we use these for instacart or just in stores?
P-EBT cards can be used anywhere that accepts EBT, including Instacart and Amazon for grocery delivery (with participating retailers). They follow the same purchase rules as regular CalFresh benefits - can buy food items but not prepared hot foods, alcohol, non-food items, etc.

Good news! I just checked my EBT balance and my benefits finally loaded tonight - about 12 hours late. Maybe check yours again? There might have been a system-wide delay affecting multiple accounts today.

OMG just checked and mine loaded too!! Thank you all so much for your help and suggestions. What a relief! I was literally in tears thinking about tomorrow. Now I can go grocery shopping first thing in the morning. I'm still going to try calling them to find out what happened so I don't panic next time.
