If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Hi Zoe! Welcome to CalFresh! 🎉 I've been on the program for about 7 months now and can absolutely confirm what everyone else is saying - your benefits definitely roll over month to month with no expiration! It was one of the first things I worried about too when I started. I wanted to share something that's been really helpful for me as a parent: I actually use a simple calendar to mark when my benefits load each month and plan my grocery trips around sales at different stores. Since your benefits accumulate, you can really strategize your shopping - like waiting for a good sale on meat and then buying enough to last a while. Also, since you mentioned being confused by the paperwork (totally understandable!), I'd suggest keeping all your CalFresh documents in one dedicated folder or binder. Include your approval letter, any correspondence from the county, and write down important dates like when your SAR7 is due. It's made my life so much easier when I need to reference something quickly. And yes, definitely call about that childcare deduction! $950/month could make a significant difference in your benefit amount. This community has been such a lifesaver for navigating the program - everyone here is so knowledgeable and supportive. You're going to do great! 💪

Hi Kara! Thank you for such a warm welcome and fantastic advice! 😊 The calendar idea for tracking benefit load dates and planning around store sales is brilliant - I never thought about being that strategic with timing my shopping trips, but it makes so much sense when you have the rollover feature working in your favor! And you're absolutely right about keeping all the CalFresh documents organized in one place. I started a folder after getting overwhelmed trying to find paperwork last week, but I love your suggestion about writing down important dates like the SAR7 deadline right in there too. I'm definitely calling about the childcare deduction tomorrow morning - it sounds like it could really help our family's situation. Everyone in this community has been so incredibly helpful and welcoming. It's amazing how much I've learned about using CalFresh effectively just from this one post! Thank you for sharing your experience and strategies! 💕

Hey Zoe! Welcome to CalFresh and to this wonderful community! 🎉 I've been on the program for about 5 months now and can absolutely confirm what everyone else is saying - your benefits definitely roll over from month to month! No need to stress about losing them. I just wanted to add something that's been a game-changer for me: I keep a small spending journal where I track not just how much I spend, but also what I buy and where. It's helped me figure out which stores have the best prices for items my family uses most. For example, I discovered that buying frozen fruits and vegetables in bulk during sales and letting my benefits accumulate for those purchases saves me so much money compared to buying fresh every week. Also, since you're new to this, here's something I wish I'd known earlier - you can actually use your EBT card for grocery pickup and delivery at many stores now, which can be super helpful when you're juggling kids and want to stick to a planned shopping list without the temptation of impulse buys. Definitely follow up on that childcare deduction everyone mentioned - that amount could significantly increase your monthly benefits! And don't hesitate to come back here with any other questions. This community has been such a lifeline for me in navigating CalFresh. You're going to do amazing! 💪

Hi Luca! Thank you so much for the warm welcome! 😊 Your spending journal idea sounds incredibly useful - I love that you track not just amounts but also what and where you buy things. That's such a smart way to identify the best deals and optimize your shopping strategy! And I had no idea about grocery pickup and delivery with EBT - that could be a total game changer for busy weeks when getting to the store with two kids feels impossible. You're so right about avoiding impulse buys too - I definitely tend to grab extra things when I'm shopping in person! I'm calling about the childcare deduction first thing tomorrow after seeing how many people have recommended it. This community has been absolutely incredible - I've learned more about using CalFresh effectively from this one post than from all the official paperwork combined. Thank you for sharing such practical tips and for being so welcoming! 💕

I'm going through this exact same frustration right now! Been locked out of my EBTEDGE account for 3 days and it's so stressful when you need to check your balance for grocery planning. This whole thread has been incredibly helpful - I had no idea about the automated phone balance check at 1-877-328-9677 or that you can do balance inquiries at grocery stores without making a purchase. That's going to save me while I work on getting my account reset! Based on all the positive feedback here, I'm definitely going to try Claimyr tomorrow morning. It's honestly ridiculous that we need third-party services and community forums just to access our own benefits, but I'm so grateful for everyone sharing real solutions that actually work. This has been way more useful than the official websites or spending hours on hold with customer service. Going to write down my security answers somewhere safe once I get back in - lesson learned!

I'm so glad this thread has been helpful for you too! It's amazing how many of us have gone through this exact same frustrating experience. The automated phone system really is a lifesaver for checking your balance when you're locked out - I wish they made that option more obvious! And yes, definitely try Claimyr based on everyone's success stories here. It seems like the most reliable way to actually get through to a real person quickly. The whole situation really highlights how broken these systems are, but at least we have this community to share what actually works. Make sure to update us on how it goes - your experience could help the next person who finds this thread while dealing with the same lockout nightmare!

This thread has been such a goldmine of information! I'm actually dealing with a similar lockout issue with my EBTEDGE account right now - forgot my security question answers from when I set it up almost a year ago. Reading through everyone's experiences here has given me so much hope and practical solutions I never knew existed. The automated phone balance check at 1-877-328-9677 is going to be a lifesaver for grocery planning this week while I work on getting my account reset. Definitely going to try Claimyr based on all the success stories here - it sounds like exactly what I need to avoid the endless hold times with the county office. It's honestly frustrating that we need all these workarounds just to access our own benefits, but I'm so grateful for this community sharing what actually works. This has been way more helpful than any official resource I've tried! Thanks everyone for taking the time to help each other navigate these broken systems.

I've seen so many positive experiences with Claimyr in this thread that it seems like the way to go for actually getting through to someone quickly. It's really sad that we have to rely on third-party services and community knowledge just to access our own benefits, but at least we're all here to help each other figure it out! I'm new to CalFresh and haven't gone through renewal yet, but this thread has been incredibly helpful! Reading everyone's experiences, it's clear that submitting your renewal application online through BenefitsCal early is the way to go. One thing that stands out to me is how much less stressful the process seems when you're proactive about it. @Keisha Jackson, it sounds like you have great advice from people who've been through this exact situation recently. The consensus seems to be: don't wait for the appointment letter, get your documents together, and submit online ASAP. I'm definitely saving this thread for when my renewal time comes around. It's amazing how much clearer the process becomes when real people share their actual experiences versus trying to decipher those confusing government letters! Thanks everyone for being so helpful to newcomers like us.

It's so reassuring to see how supportive everyone is with sharing their real experiences. @Keisha Jackson definitely seems to be getting great advice from folks who ve'just been through the renewal process. I love how this community breaks down the confusing government processes into actually understandable steps. Definitely bookmarking this thread too - the timeline examples and document prep tips are going to be super useful when it s'my turn to renew!

I'm also new to CalFresh and this thread has been such a lifesaver! I was actually dreading my eventual renewal process, but reading everyone's experiences here makes it seem much more manageable. The step-by-step breakdown that @Oliver Weber provided earlier is exactly what I needed to see - it takes all the guesswork out of the process. What really stands out to me is how everyone who submitted their renewal early had a smoother experience compared to those who waited. @Keisha Jackson, it sounds like you're getting fantastic advice here. I'm definitely going to follow the same approach when my time comes: gather documents first, submit online through BenefitsCal early, and then wait for the interview call. Thanks to everyone sharing their real experiences - it makes navigating government benefits so much less intimidating when you can learn from people who've actually been through it!

As another newcomer to CalFresh, I'm so grateful for threads like this! I've been lurking in this community for a while trying to learn the ropes, and seeing how everyone breaks down these confusing processes is incredibly helpful. @Keisha Jackson, you're definitely in good hands with all this advice - it sounds like submitting early through BenefitsCal is absolutely the way to go based on everyone's experiences. I was also confused about whether to wait for appointment letters or act proactively, but this thread makes it crystal clear. It's amazing how much clearer government processes become when real people share what actually worked for them versus trying to decode those official letters alone!

As a newcomer to this community, I just wanted to add my voice to all the encouraging responses here! I'm in a really similar situation - my CalFresh benefits ended about 5 months ago when my work hours increased slightly, but I've kept my EBT card and have been successfully using it for Museums for All discounts. I've visited 3 different museums so far, including the California Science Center just last month, and it's worked perfectly every time. At the Science Center specifically, the staff were incredibly friendly and professional - they just glanced at my card and immediately processed the discount. My kids spent the entire day exploring the exhibits, especially the space shuttle Endeavour which absolutely blew their minds! What really struck me reading through this thread is how many positive experiences people have shared, particularly at the Science Center. It's clear that this program is working exactly as intended - to provide access to educational experiences for families who need financial assistance, regardless of current benefit status. For anyone still feeling hesitant, I'd say go for it! The worst case is paying regular admission, but based on all these experiences, you'll most likely get the discount and give your kids an amazing day of learning and fun. The Museums for All program really is a wonderful resource for families like ours. Hope you have a fantastic time this weekend!

As a newcomer to this community, I just wanted to say how incredibly helpful and reassuring this entire thread has been! I'm also dealing with a similar situation - my CalFresh benefits ended a couple months ago due to a paperwork issue, but I still have my physical EBT card. Reading through everyone's experiences, especially all the positive stories specifically about the California Science Center, has given me so much confidence to try this program with my own family. It's really heartwarming to see how supportive this community is and how willing everyone has been to share their real experiences - both the successes and the occasional challenges. What really stands out to me is how the Museums for All program seems to be working exactly as it was designed - to remove barriers and provide access to educational experiences for families who need it, not to create more hoops to jump through. The fact that so many people have had consistently positive experiences shows this is a reliable resource we can count on. I'm definitely planning to take my kids to some museums this spring using my EBT card, and this thread has been invaluable in building my confidence to do so. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their stories and tips - you're not just helping individual families, but creating a supportive resource that will benefit so many people in our community! 🙏

This entire thread has been a goldmine of information! I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - got my CalFresh benefits approved last week and was excited to try online grocery shopping, but kept running into the same "restricted" errors. Reading through everyone's experiences, it sounds like the key things to remember are: 1) Not all stores that accept EBT in-person accept it online, 2) Walmart and Amazon Fresh are the most reliable options, 3) Make sure you're selecting "EBT" as payment method rather than treating it like a regular debit card, and 4) Recent account changes can temporarily block online purchasing even if in-store works fine. What really stands out to me is how unhelpful the error messages are - "restricted" could mean so many different things! It would save everyone so much stress if the apps just said "this store doesn't accept EBT online" or "your account needs verification for online purchases" instead of making it sound like something's wrong with your benefits. Thanks to everyone who shared their troubleshooting tips and workarounds - this community support makes navigating these confusing systems so much easier!

0 coins

You've perfectly summarized all the key takeaways from this thread! Those four points you listed are exactly what I wish I had known before trying my first online EBT order. You're so right about how confusing the error messages are - "restricted" is probably the worst possible wording because it immediately makes you panic that something's wrong with your account or benefits. A simple "This retailer does not accept EBT for online orders" would save so much stress and confusion. It's really encouraging to see how this community comes together to fill in the gaps where these systems fail to provide clear information. Congratulations on getting your CalFresh benefits approved, and I hope your first online grocery order goes smoothly now that you know what to expect! Welcome to the community!

I'm so glad you got it working with Walmart! This thread has been incredibly helpful for understanding all the quirks of online EBT shopping. As someone who just started using CalFresh benefits recently, I had no idea about the difference between stores that accept EBT in-person vs online - it seems like such basic information that should be clearly displayed on these apps but isn't. The "restricted" error really is misleading and causes unnecessary panic. I'm bookmarking this conversation because there are so many useful troubleshooting tips here, from the technical fixes like logging out/back in to the practical advice about doing small test orders first. It's amazing how this community fills in all the gaps that the official systems leave! Hope you're feeling better from the flu - having groceries delivered when you're sick is exactly what these programs should make easy and accessible.
