If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

did u do the fafsa on phone app or computer? the app is glitchy and sometimes doesnt show all statuses

I did it on my laptop through the website, not the app. But I'll try logging in on a different browser to see if that shows any different information. Thanks for the tip!

One important thing to note - with the new 2025-2026 FAFSA system, the "Processed" status doesn't necessarily mean your SAI has been calculated and sent to schools yet. Because of the system changes, many applications have been marked as "Processed" but are actually still in an internal review queue. I recommend taking three specific actions: 1. Look specifically for your SAI number on your Student Aid Report 2. Check if all your selected schools are listed in the "School Report" section 3. Set a calendar reminder to log in weekly and check for verification requests If after 2 weeks your SAI still isn't showing up, that's when you should contact Federal Student Aid directly for clarification.

That makes sense. I just checked and I can see my schools listed but no SAI number yet, even though it's been "Processed" for 6 days now. I'll wait another week before getting concerned. Thanks for the specific timeline advice!

gotta love how they completely redesign the FAFSA and then nobody can figure out how to use it properly including their own support staff lol

FOR REAL!! I swear they do this on purpose to discourage people from applying for financial aid. My niece gave up after trying for 3 weeks and just took out private loans instead. The whole system is broken.

To clarify based on the most current guidance (as of yesterday), here's the official stance on joint filing parents: 1. If parents file jointly, only ONE parent technically needs to complete the contributor section 2. However, the system is designed to collect both parents' information for the most accurate SAI calculation 3. Due to technical issues, sometimes the system requires both parents to complete their sections even if that contradicts the official guidance For the cleanest application process with jointly filing parents: - Try having the student remove one parent in the FAFSA portal - If that works, have the remaining parent complete their section with ALL household information - If removal doesn't work or causes errors, both parents will need FSA IDs and need to complete their sections The important thing is ensuring all income and household information is accurately reported, whether through one parent or both.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! We'll try removing me first, and if that causes problems, I'll create an FSA ID. I appreciate everyone's help with this confusing process!

Correction processing times vary, but currently expect 7-10 business days for the correction to be fully processed. After that, it can take another 3-5 days for schools to receive the updated information. Given your 3-week deadline, I'd recommend: 1. Check daily for the correction option to appear 2. If it's not available by the end of this week, call FSA directly 3. Send a brief email to each school's financial aid office explaining the situation Most schools understand these issues, especially this year with all the FAFSA changes causing confusion.

Perfect plan, thank you! I'll start checking for the correction option today and prepare an email for the schools just in case. You've been incredibly helpful and I feel much less anxious about this now.

after we got our correction processed our SAI went down by like $12k!! definitely worth fixing even with all the hassle. good luck!!

wow thats a huge difference! making me wonder if we messed something up on ours too...

0 coins

anyone know if you can update fafsa info after submitting? i always mess something up and have to fix it later

0 coins

Yes, you can make corrections to your FAFSA after submitting. Log in to studentaid.gov with your FSA ID, select your FAFSA application, and click on 'Make FAFSA Corrections.' You can update most information except your Social Security Number. After submitting corrections, it takes about 3-5 days to process. However, some changes (like dependency status) might require documentation through your school's financial aid office.

One final tip - since you mentioned nursing specifically, be sure to carefully answer the question about interest in federal TEACH grants. These aren't relevant for nursing programs and selecting 'yes' by mistake can cause confusion in your aid package. Also, once you submit your FAFSA, immediately contact your school's financial aid office to let them know you're a returning student. Sometimes they can flag your file for special consideration or point you toward additional nursing-specific campus scholarships that don't appear in the general application process. Good luck with your nursing program!

Thank you! I'll definitely avoid the TEACH grant question. I'm going to call the financial aid office tomorrow to introduce myself. Just hoping I can get everything submitted correctly. Still nervous but feeling much more prepared now!

Update on private loan fraud cases: Several states (CA, MA, NY, IL, PA) have reached settlements with private lenders over loans connected to fraudulent schools. These settlements included loan forgiveness for many borrowers. Florida hasn't been as aggressive in this area, but you should definitely contact your state AG about whether your school is under investigation. Also - Florida has the Consumer Collection Practices Act which gives you additional protections beyond federal law. If they're calling repeatedly or making threats, document everything and report them.

Thank you for this update! I've just looked up the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act and I'm definitely going to document all their calls from now on. They've been calling 3-4 times daily, including weekends, which seems excessive and possibly illegal.

Has ne1 tried those debt settlement companies?? My cousin used one for his private school loans and they got it reduced by 40% but im not sure if they work for everyone or if its a scam

0 coins

Be extremely cautious with debt settlement companies. While legitimate ones exist, the industry is filled with predatory practices. Many charge high fees and direct you to stop paying loans (damaging your credit) while they supposedly negotiate. This damages your credit significantly. If you're genuinely unable to pay, you're often better off negotiating directly with the lender or working with a nonprofit credit counseling agency approved by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling.
