I'm in a similar situation - been waiting about 4 weeks now and it's driving me crazy! One thing I discovered is that you can sometimes get updates by texting their automated system. I found the number buried somewhere on their website (I think it was like 67283 or something similar?). You text your case number and sometimes get a status update without having to wait on hold. It's not always helpful but at least it's something! Also, make sure you have your confirmation number from when you submitted - apparently that can help speed things up when you do get someone on the phone. This whole process is so stressful but we'll get through it! 💪
Wait, there's a text system?! 🤯 I had no idea that existed - their website is such a maze I probably would never have found that. Do you remember what kind of info it gives you when you text your case number? Like does it tell you if documents are missing or just basic status stuff? And omg yes about having the confirmation number ready - I learned that the hard way after spending forever on hold just to have them tell me they couldn't help without it 🤦♀️
Wow, reading through all these comments makes me feel so much less alone in this struggle! I'm currently at week 3 of waiting and was starting to panic that something was wrong with my application. @Lucas Turner that text system tip is AMAZING - I'm definitely going to try to find that number on their website tonight! And @Santiago Martinez the checklist idea is so smart, I'm going to make one right now with all my documents and dates. It's wild how we all have to become detectives just to navigate this system. Has anyone had luck with the online chat feature, or is that just as useless as the phone lines? Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it really helps to know we're all in this together! 🤞
@Evan Kalinowski Oh man, the online chat is basically non-existent from what I ve'experienced! I tried it a few times and either got stuck in an endless loop or it just said chat "unavailable 🙄" But seriously, this thread has been a lifesaver - I had no idea about the text system or keeping a document checklist either. It s'crazy that we have to crowdsource basic info about how their own system works! Week 3 is still early though, try not to stress too much easier (said than done, I know .)Keep us posted if you find that text number! We re'definitely all in this together 💪
Bruh, the benefits system is a total dumpster fire rn. I've been trying to get my claim sorted for MONTHS. Good luck, you're gonna need it 💀
I'm sorry you're going through this stress! The same thing happened to my neighbor last year. Here's what worked for her: she went to the local DCF office in person first thing in the morning with all her paperwork. Sometimes showing up in person gets faster results than calling. If you can't get there, definitely try the online account suggestion others mentioned - there might be a new appointment date already scheduled that you haven't seen yet. Also, document everything with screenshots in case you need to prove what happened. You've got this! 💪

I'm dealing with this exact same nightmare right now! Applied for benefits 5 weeks ago, uploaded all my documents, and my application is just sitting there in "pending" status with zero communication from DCF. It's so stressful when you're already struggling financially and then have to deal with this broken system on top of everything else. I've tried calling multiple times but can never get through - either the line is busy or I get stuck on hold forever. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring (I'm not going crazy, this really is a widespread problem) and terrifying (how is the system this broken?!). I'm definitely going to try that early morning office visit strategy that several people mentioned - sounds like showing up in person first thing in the morning might be the only way to actually get real answers about what's happening with our applications. It's ridiculous that we have to take time off work and camp out at government offices just to access basic help, but at this point I'm willing to try anything. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories and tips - this community support really helps when dealing with such a frustrating situation! 🙏

•@Ella rollingthunder87 I totally understand your frustration! I m'new here but going through the exact same thing - applied 3 weeks ago and my status hasn t'budged from pending "either." It s'so disheartening to see how many people are stuck in this same situation right now. The early morning office visit strategy that @Amun-Ra Azra shared seems to be our best bet at this point since the phone system is completely useless. I m planning'to try it this week too - figure if I get there right when they open, maybe I can actually talk to a real person who can tell me what s going'on with my application. It s crazy'that we all have to become our own advocates and figure out these workarounds just to get basic help, but I guess that s the'reality we re dealing'with. Thanks for sharing your experience - it helps to know we re all'in this together! Hopefully we ll start'seeing some progress soon 🤞

I'm going through the exact same thing! Applied 6 weeks ago and my status is still stuck on "pending" with absolutely no updates. It's so frustrating when you're already dealing with financial stress and then have to navigate this broken system. I've called probably 20+ times but can never get through to anyone. Reading all these comments is actually really helpful - at least I know it's not just me! I'm definitely going to try that early morning office visit strategy that @Amun-Ra Azra mentioned since it sounds like that's been the most successful approach. It's ridiculous that we have to take time off work just to get basic information about our own applications, but if that's what it takes then I guess we don't have much choice. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - this community support means a lot when dealing with such a stressful situation! 🙏

•@Matthew Sanchez I m'so sorry you re'going through this too! I just joined this community because I m'dealing with the exact same situation - applied 4 weeks ago and still stuck in pending "limbo." It s'honestly shocking to see how many people are experiencing this right now. The fact that you ve'called 20+ times without getting through really highlights how broken their phone system is. I m'also planning to try that early morning office visit approach that @Amun-Ra Azra shared - seems like that s literally'our only option for getting real human contact at this point. It s so'messed up that we have to resort to camping out at government offices just to find out what s happening'with our own cases, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures I guess! This community has been such a lifesaver for my sanity - knowing we re all'fighting the same battle together really helps. Hopefully we ll all'see some breakthrough soon! 💪
